August 3-4 HELP!

Hi all,

I currently have reservations for August 5-14, preferred site at $36 a night including tax. My children came home with the school schedule for next year and their open house has been moved back to August 14th!

I need to change reservations to August 3-12 so we have time to get back home. I am having a devil of a time finding a rate under $60 for August 3 and 4.

We have AAA but are not AP holders. I have checked all of the current discounts on the Mousesavers.com website. I have called Disney twice. I'm ready to make reservations at Tropical Palms for those 2 days. Does anyone have any ideas for me?

Could you take a non-preferred site for those 2 days? You won't have all the hookups, but you will have water & electricity. They are usually much cheaper!

I called Disney again today to try to get a separate reservation for Aug 2-5. The cheapest I could find was $57 a night for full hook-up. (AAA rate) They would not let us get a rate for a partial hook-up site since we have a regular travel trailer. (told me only pop-ups, tents or van campers) Would have been fine with us to have only water and electric for those couple of nights and then move to the preferred.

Does anyone know of any other discounts? I hate to have to go off site for those 3 nights, but the price difference is $20-25 a night less.

Value season doesn't start till Aug 5 and I don't think you will get any better rate than you have. How important is the Open House? My experience is that the teachers understand vacations, and are always very willing to meet with you after the open house, and they usually have a packet that you can get then. We will also be there August 5-18. Requesting 1400 loop. Our twins are 9 years old. Good luck. KQ
