August 27, 2006 4 night Wonder

Hi All !!!
Put me on that depressed list too :guilty:

This cruise went way too fast !!!
I didn't get to do so many things I wanted to do... so we booked our next cruise on board :goodvibes

We picked the Western 12/01/07, but we may change the date, not sure yet.

I had so much fun running in to you all. I think I saw Heather (Newbiecruiser) and her Mom the most though. So sorry I didn't hang around later on the last night Heather, but the bonine was making me sleepy and I was having trouble keeping my eyes open.

I wish I had seen you and Bill Michele at the wine tasting earlier. I didn't catch everything that was said, but I definitely liked the first red wine the best (not the Shiraz, not sure how to spell it :confused3 )

Hobbitmomma, love your trip report!!! We missed the pirate party on deck (everyone crashed at around 9:00 in our room :confused3 ) Your fireworks picture is awesome :thumbsup2

Bellelinus, your daughters are beautiful !!! We loved your pirate costumes :thumbsup2 I see you also booked on board for a March cruise, so I guess you had fun too ;)

Bill and Moose, I hardly saw you guys. How did the cruise compare to the others you've been on Bill ??

Laurie :)

Hi Laurie;

It was fun being so close to you at dinner . . . you are featured prominently on many of our videotapes (which we watched yesterday in an attempt to feel as though we were back on the cruise!).

Yes, we rebooked for a 7 night Western onboard -- if I hadn't, I don't think I could have gotten off the ship. Now I wonder how rough the seas are normally -- I actually rather liked all the movement and none of us get sick, but it will be funny to get a contrast in movement from a normal cruise.

It was an amazing experience, just too short, as I'm sure all of you will agree.

Hi everyone!

Sorry we didn't get to meet on the ship, although I think some of you might have met my friend Glinda at the Martini Tasting. Hobbitmomma, you were with a group of us at the dolphin encounter. My husband tells me he saw the pictures you posted and two of the kids travelling in our group are in your picture. So close and didn't know it.

4 out of the 5 families on our cruise have booked again for next year - 8/19/07. Anyone else going again during the summer of 07.

Hi everybody. We just got in a couple hours ago and have to say we had a great time. More so than expected for me. It was great meeting you guys! :thumbsup2

No we didn't rebook any Disney cruises for the future. We are booked on Princess next summer for Alaska.

We had NewbieCruisers near us at Tritons for 2 nights and didn't even know it until the second night when they were giving me a hard time for not wearing pirate attire. The newbies were all decked out in their pirate wear and they looked awesome.

Moose and I usually headed down to Diversions for trivia after dinner. I attended every show. Liked Disney Dreams the best but they were all good.

Walked about a mile down to Michelles cabins and checked out their door signs. We forgot and left it on the door.

Also took in Cars, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Invinceable. Didn't make it to the Pub thingie the last night as the movie started at 10:45pm.

Our boys played basketball almost every night. That was cool since I could put channel 11 on and keep an eye on them. :rotfl:

Wife also started collecting pins. Thanks guys!! :confused3

Oh yeah I almost forgot. We also got our balcony on the day at sea. We were in cabin 7608. The handicap cabin was pretty big but sure liked the split bathroom and the sofa.

Oh wow, how fun! Thanks so much for posting that. Sorry we didn't run into you on the ship after the first day. I wish we could have booked another cruise. We're going to be moving next summer and the following summer we are going to be celebrating my father-in-law's 70th birthday somewhere in Europe. He lives in Israel.(Yes, we already thought about trying to sell him on a DCL cruise, but he wants the whole family to vacation together for his 70th, and my brother-in-law and his wife, hate Disney. Can you imagine??? :confused3 ) So, I don't know when we will be able to do this again. In fact, we did it this year, because we figured it was going to be now or never. Well I can dream...

Hi Julie,
I haven't looked at our video yet, but I'm sure you guys are in ours alot too
It was cool having you so close at dinner. I agree the re-booking made it easier to get off the ship. When we went last time, July 2002, I swear I only felt the ship move once the entire time and that was on the day at sea (captain was following the sun I was told :sunny: ). I was a bit nervous this time since I was feeling the movement from the very first day and I have had numerous bouts in the past with motion sickness (boat, car, plane, rides, etc). I guess either the bonine helped or I'm finally outgrowing it :thumbsup2

I'm thinking this will most likely be our last 4 day since there were so many things we wanted to do and just couldn't fit them in. My DH and DS were in love with the verandha so we'll probably stick with cat. 6 for our next cruise.

Laurie

Hobbitmomma,
I'm thinking we were at Blue Lagoon at the same time, bummer !! We had the dolphin swim that morning and I would have known to look for you if I had remembered to ask at the DIS meet :confused3

I'm enjoying your trip report :thumbsup2

Laurie

Wow Laurie!
The picture came out great! :thumbsup2
And I can honestly say, I remember everyone's name in the picture (the adults anyways).
Theresa, where was the rest of your family when we took this one?? :confused3 We'll have to paste them in :rotfl:
Bill, when your wife gets to 100 (my collection) or 500+ (my DD) give me a call and we'll talk-- You got off easy! I'm glad you had fun; I knew that it was genuine joy when I saw you on deck 10 on pirate night boogeying
You have to admit, those Disney folks got that customer service thing down to an art!! I actually paid attention this time, and never once did they tell me no to any request we had...it was always, "yes, of course" or "no problem". :thumbsup2
And the upkeep on the ship is just amazing...it's like a new ship each time; I didn't experience that on NCL.
Sorry we missed you Daisy & Donald Duck.

Sorry we missed you Daisy & Donald Duck.

I kept saying that to myself the whole time I was on the ship. This ship is going into drydock in October??? It is amazing.

You were supposed to see the boogeying. Way out of character for me, but what the heck, I was on vacation.

I have to agree with your comments on NCL. We cruised them once 13 years ago and it was awful. Only time we had bad memories. Never cruised them again.

And of course the customer service. We woke up Wednesday and could hardly breathe. We had the last cabin on deck 7 right near secret deck 7. My wife felt sick to her stomach and my son even commented on the smell.
They were varnishing the secret deck. YUCK! Those teens are usually oblivious to anything around them.

I went down to the Guest Relations desk and told the girl there. She went in the back and got somebody. After a few minutes he moved us to a balcony cabin midship on deck 7. The cabin stewardess didnt seem too happy to see us and interrogated us as to what we were doing in that room. After I tipped her she sung a different tune. lol

HobbitMomma,
When you move are leaving our great state of PA?

Bill

P.S. Michelle did you get my email? Not sure what I was doing there so just checking.

Sorry, we didnt make it to any of the meetings. My wife and I where depressed we didnt get to meet anyone. Our girls where whining way too much for us to meet new people. We had even made grass skirts to give out to the other girls at the gathering.I felt the day at sea movement all day long and we also missed pirate night we where there for the pre show music but we where wiped out and ready for bed by the time mickey hit the stage. We did see the golden mickeys and dreams and they where both great.I thought the Wonder was due for a dry dock, it wasnt up to the standards that it was before the 2004 dry dock.I didnt notice any wear on our first cruise but that may have been the first cruise magic covered it up.There where only a few things I noticed this time and all seemed to be on deck 10.I was impressed with the sanitation entering the dining areas and when boarding.I hated the straw market in naussau and vow to never get off the ship there again, and no I dont want my hair braided.Castaway cay was amazing from the snorkleing to the food.We spent the entire day at the family beach.Did anyone notice how slick deck 10 was? We also saw a rescue at castaway cay when the storm hit, we where looking out our port hole and noticed that there where still jet ski's in the water and out of curiosity we watched them head into the storm.A few menutes later out of the storm came 3 jet ski's guiding in a bannana boat full of people. It was pretty cool, way to go castaway life guards. :thumbsup2

DisneyDadx2,
My DH was fed up with the hair braiding ladies in Nassau too :rotfl2:

We accidently left my and my kids KTTW cards and my drivers license at Blue Lagoon. The dude renting scooters by the dock helped us out by calling them on his cell phone and they sent them on the next boat. It was tense for awhile there though- if one more lady had come up and asked to braid our hair I think my DH would have had a temper tantrum ;)

My DH said he also saw a banana boat take off right before the storm hit. I guess they were the ones needing a rescue. It was really looking bad at that point -I'm surprised they let them go out :confused3

Sorry we didn't get to meet you as well. Or maybe you saw my DH and kids because they spent quite a bit of time snorkeling too

Laurie

Wow, you guys are quick! I never thought to jump on the boards right away, I thought it would depress me furthur! We had a fabulous time. I loved meeting you all. I definately saw Laurie and Michelle the most. I saw Mrs. Bill and Mrs. Moose everywhere, I guess the boys were sleeping! We would love to do this again but don't know when. I can't believe the news about Steve Irwin dying from a stingray like the one we were holding just last week on our excursion!! Wierd...I guess my son, who wouldn't touch one, was the smart one of the bunch ;)

Who wants to hang around with girls, YUCK! They were doing girl stuff and we were off playing trivia and other insane stuff!

Laurie,
How do you think I'd look with my hair braided??

Bill

newbiecruisers said:
they should cut you a good deal, Bill! :rotfl2: 1/2 price, I think!

Laurie,
It'd be cool if they could even put 1 braid in my hair!!

Newbies,
I think with 1/2 off I'd be getting ripped off!! :rotfl:

Bill

Hey Bill haven't you heard of extensions? That's how the celebrities get long hair over night. Should work for at least one braid, right :confused3 ;)
