August 25 2012

We are definitely interested in joining the group.

We have the following:

Bobbie (Female)
Marilyn (Grandmother)
Alexis (Daughter-6)

Excited to be a part of this.

The weather in the philly area is simply beautiful today:love:

Same here in the Lehigh Valley. Had my motorcycle out for a ride and didn't freeze my buns off. Love it!:thumbsup2 Put the cycles away the middle of December & got them out the middle of January because there were too many nice (though cold) days not to use them. Only days we didn't use them was when it rained or flurried. I like this warm weather much better.

New York City is gorgeous also! Regretting wearing my winter jacket this morning....should have opted for a much lighter coat.

Was thinking about going on this cruise. Would be me, mom of 2 kids, with the kids, DD 10 and DS 14. DD is concerned she may be in the tween club, as her birthday is a couple of days onto the cruise, and be lonely without her brother who will most likely live in the teen club. Thoughts?

Also, was looking at the reserved rate category. Understand the requirement to pay full up front, with no refunds, no changes. What I would like to hear is opinions as to what chance we have with a decent cabin. If I book a guaranteed balcony cabin, that means I could get the lowest classed to the highest class of balcony cabins, on any of the levels that balcony cabins are found on, and not any cabin, and not on the lowest level 1 -- is that right?

Thanks for any advice! Come on summer!

Also enjoyed the awesome sunny Philly day today.

I can't answer the question about the guaranteed cabins (although my mother in law is considering booking one) since I've never done it before. I understand only that if you book a VGT, you are guaranteed a verandah, but it could be any class of verandah anywhere on the ship. I believe the same is true of the OGT and the IGT categories.

As for tween club question, I have been asking about this on the main board since my daughter will be 11 by the time we sail, but her brother is 6. She is kind of young for her age and might prefer the Club over the Edge. It seems some 11 year olds were given the choice about whether or not to go the the Club or the Edge. However, no one was permitted to age up to the Edge. Meaning a ten year old who would be in the Club was not permitted to go to the Edge. With a birthday in the middle of the cruise and a brother also in the Edge, its possible they may give your daughter a choice. I know people have been talking about them being pretty strict lately with the age limitations. I would make sure to go the Club the very first day to ask for this if going to the Edge is what your daughter wants.

P.S. - if she's in either place where my daughter is, my daughter would love to make a new friend!

JSkWonder,
Thank you for the info. We will be sailing with you after all.

My DD would so like to meet a friend on board. She is hoping to be in the tween club. I will have to see what they say, as I will try to register once on board.

Maybe the girls could talk before the cruise. My DD can start off shy, so knowing there will be a girl her age will help.

I am trying to catch up on all the posts from the beginning of this thread. I'm so excited to see all the girls the same age as my daughter, who will be 8 in June. They will have a blast! Is anyone considering booking the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique. After looking at the prices, I can definitely say, NOT ME! Scroll down to see prices:http://www.mousesavers.com/fantasychristening.html

Thanks for posting info on ship and Bippity Boutique...DD would love it :). Maybe during formal night???

Hi, this information you received is absolutely not true, at least it wasn't in January. We sailed on the Dream and my two twins, 10 years old, wanted to stay with their nephew, 12 years old. I asked both locations, Club/Lab and the Edge and they both told me the same information. My kids could choose the Edge, I would have to sign a waiver, but then they could not go down into the Club/Lab and vice versa. meaning that once they chose they had to stick with the choice and could not change. They chose the Edge and were in the Edge the entire cruise.

So, they were definitely allowed to go up in age.

Well, that's good to hear for those that are looking for the option as people on the main board were stating that they had been told no. No one mentioned that a waiver was offered. Perhaps, they misunderstood? Or maybe the ship was really full on the sailings they were on so there wasn't room to make adjustments.

Either way, it's good to know that their still may be choices for the kids who need them.

Hi there!
I've done the guarantee before and it's always been fine and I've gotten a good cabin for a good rate. My daughter will be 10 on the cruise and would love to make a friend, so if you do decide to book, please come back and let me know and they can email each other. (there are many others who will do the same :upsidedow).

Hello everyone, I hope you all had a great day:thumbsup2

Once again we had a wonderful day of weather. This evening m DW and I went walking on the track so that we can lose some of our winter weight:rotfl:

On the Dream she would get up and walk around deck 4 while I rested up for breakfast in Cabanas:)

Thanks for the friend offer and letting me know you made out ok with the discount rate.

Well, yes, last week I booked it and we will have some unkown balcony room. We are excited, though I think the DD is the most. She would really like to meet some girls her age. DD will be celebrating her birthday during the cruise, and having a new friend or more would be nice as no one is ever around for her birthday.

You can pm me, and I will be glad to share her email. She would like to have email friend.

Just paid off my St. Lucia trip today:woohoo: Next up, paying off connecting 4C cabins for this cruise:scared1:

Lynn G,

My daughter turns 12 in May and for the first time on last summer's cruise didn't go to the clubs because she didn't know anyone. Maybe this time they will have a fun tween group so that the girls can enjoy this cruise:thumbsup2

Thanks My4PhillyGirls! Lovin' this Philly weather!

If your DD 12 wants to email my DD, just PM me and I can give you her email. My DD was a bit worried about going to the tween club and knowing no one. It will be nice for her to have some recognizable names.

Also, my kids have talked me into doing our first FE. So, could we join in the FE for this cruise? Being our first, I have to read up on size and how big people make the pockets. Sounds fun.

Thanks for this thread. I am learning a lot.

We're doing FE for the first time this cruise too. I'm excited, yet nervous. I'm not very crafty or imaginative, so I new to peruse the web to get some good ideas!!
