August 23-30, 2003 "Welcome Home Fellow Cruisers--Trip Report Completed"

Hey Andy~ yeah, you certainly have earned this vacation!! Hazel deserves it after what she had to go through! and you, my dear friend, deserve the shrimp as a reward for this past winter!! At least now the temps are in the 90's and not the 0-10 range any longer and I can finally use my new pool!!!!

Hi, I haven't posted in a long time but just wanted to say hi and looking forward to the cruise. We have been looking through the excursion book and still not sure what we will do. I am thinking about doing either the See and Sea Island tour in St. Marteen or Atlantis Submarine Adventure in St. Thomas. My husband and daughter (12) are thinking of doing scuba diving- that is not for me! Have a good day everyone, Kim

Make sure you stop by on deck 9 behind Topsider's after the life jacket drill and say Hi to your fellow DIS'ers, make sure you see me as well, I am going to have something for all the DIS'ers on our cruise, that is on our cruise list.

Only, 8 more weeks, until we sail away!!!

St. Thomas:
ST-05 St. Thomas Beach Day for 3 people, Andrew Walters, Hazel Walters, and Angelina Walters

Castaway Cay:
C-08 Parasailing time: 11:30am for 2 people, Andrew Walters(God Help Me!!!) and Angelina Walters(The Family Daredevil!!!)

C-06 Banana Boat Rides time: 2:00pm for 2 people, Andrew Walters and Angelina Walters(Looks Like Fun!!!)

C-03 Float/Tube Rentals time: All Day for 1 person, Hazel Walters(just wants to float and relax, non-swimmer)

54 more Days to Go!!!

Jeff is still very excited about the regatta boat on St. Maarten! he's going to have a ball! Now he's counting down the days right along with me, when before he thought i was just nuts because I knew how many days it was till we left!

See, what a little "MAGIC" can do!!!

Hi Andy,

I had booked the same times for parasailing and the Banana Boat ride. Parasailing will be my and DS (9) – Banana Boat Ride the 2 of us again, my friend will be going on the Banana boat also. I just called to confirm that it would not be a problem for my son to parasail, the info say’s you have to be 90 lbs which he is not. They said as long as we are flying tandem the weight minimum is no problem. I can’t believe my son is willing to go parasailing so I was happy to hear the weight was not a problem

We also booked 2 - floats/tube rentals for the day. I can’t wait till the cruise, but then again I don’t want to rush the summer since once the cruise is over the summer is also.

 Mindy,

I received an e-mail confirmation from DCL about our times for parasailing and the banana boat ride. Our times have changed from what I posted earlier. My DD and I will now be doing the parasailing at 10:30am (LUCKY ME!!!), first time of the day, and the banana boat ride at 2:30pm. Were your times confirmed yet?

My times were changed by DCL, I guess that's what they had available.

Andy,

I called DCL up and that's the time I asked for. I haven't received any confirmations yet in the mail (didn't know I would get one). I guess I'll see if they change my times also. I just need to make sure I have time in between to do both and also to bring my DS (3 1/2) to the kids programs at that time.

Mindy

For those of you getting a float or tube rental on Castaway. Be sure to bring a water camera with you on the float. My friends went out and saw a stingray but did not have the camera.

Thanks for the tip Lynn, but I won't be telling Hazel about the stingray or she won't even get on the float. We picked up a water camera a few weeks ago, and another disposable camera for Angelina. We're going to take both of those cameras when Angelina and I do the parasailing. I want someone getting a photo of Angelina and I, as we are leaving the boat, and I want to take some photos, while we are parasailing, up in the wild blue yonder!!!

YEA Andy!! first "fly" of the morning...you won't have to worry about, umm, to put it nicely, body fluids left in your harness by other people now!! ONLY JOKING :jester: for those who don't know my humor...

You should probably still bring a change of clothes with you
just in case

Good Luck!!

Jeanny

Andy,

I just got the confirm, my times are still the same 11:30 parasailing, 2:00 Banana Boat. I have an underwater camera but it broke. I just brought it in to be fixed $70.00. Looks like I’ll have to fix it. I use it a lot in the summer and I’ll need it on the cruise. I take a lot of pictures. I’m bringing my Digital camera also, so I’ll always have “film” to take pictures.

Mindy,

We'll have to exchange notes, we do parasailing just before you, and you do the banana boat ride, just before us. I hope I don't leave any bodily fluids behind after parasailing. Read Jeanny's post above, LOL!!!

My DD is so excited about our excursions on Castaway Cay and St. Thomas. Although we live less than an hour from the Atlantic Ocean ourselves, my DW and I are not what you would call beach people. My DW gets sick when out in the sun and heat, even for a short period of time. Me, I just don't like sand in my shorts!!! LOL!!!

Andy,

If your wife doesn't like too much sun, she may enjoy sitting under a beach umbrella at Serenity Bay. I'll be on a float (hopefully sipping a konk kooler) catching some rays and just relaxing!!

Ginny,

That's probably where she will wind up with my mom, sis, and niece(28). My DD will be turning 13 within two weeks after our cruise, so she will probably want to hang out on the teen beach, when she doesn't have me parasailing or on the banana boat, then I can head to Serenity Bay, and recoup.

I would like to wish all my fellow cruisers a Happy and Safe Independence Day Weekend !!!

Dear Andy and other fellow cruisers........If you are spending the night prior to the cruise at the Raddison -you can go to Roomsaver.com and print out a certificate for a $79 rate!
I have used this before and it is the best rate I (usually) find for this hotel.
We have reserved for the Dophin and Sting Ray excursion on St. Maarten. - Will also reserve for the Parasaiiing at Castaway Cay for Stephen.....hey, this is getting EXPENSIVE!
Happy 4th to all! Renee
