Not booked for April 2005 as of yet, we just have that date planned since I will be turning 50 on 4-20-05, I want to celebrate my birthday on the Magic. Will probably book(deposit w/ cash) when the dates become available, then change reservation to points in March '04.

Andy - That's a plan! I didn't think of doing that - it's a good idea to reserve/hold a specific cabin - there's no penalty for changing to points?
Maybe also a good idea to book while on-board - sometimes the xtra perks are good when booking on-board. I'll have to check it out while on-board - although I think you can only book a year in advance while on-board?
I'd like to try the Western sailing - but I was sort of waiting and saving points for the "new" ship. Haven't heard anything lately - maybe things are on hold because of the slowdown in Travel?
Just re-called DCL - a spot opened up for Parasailing at 2:30 - I booked it - but I'm still hoping for a cancellation in the morning. If a morning spot opens up I will transfer my booking - I much prefer the morning - Rain is very likely in the afternoon ......I'll just keep calling.......

I got Parasailing at 9:30am and my sister got it at 1:30....I wish we were going together:( But at least we both get to go:Pinkbounc

We booked my sis and niece with cash for this cruise until we got our points add on settled in early June. Once we knew closing was finished, we switched them both over to points, no problem at all. The only thing I found out from Rae519 was that, if you book with cash, then switch over to points, you lose your onboard stateroom credits.

I guess since my DD and I have the 10:30 parasailing, we will be the guinea pigs for the day, LOL!!!

WOW!!! You got parasailing at 9:30, I thought 10:30 was the first excursion, at least that's what my papers stated. Hurray!!! I won't be the guinea pig after all!!!

happy Saturday morning everyone! I hope everyone is having a good holiday weekend! It's been very rainy here again, but nice and warm.

Just think, 7 more weeks and we'll be getting ready to get on the Magic!

Kyle was asking if the Magic would still be showing "Finding Nemo" . I think it probably will be, We'll be able to see it again, Jeff has not seen it yet. What about the new kids movie "Sinbad". Do you think that will be playing?

It's probably a good chance for "Sinbad" and "Pirates of the Caribbean" which hits movie theatres this coming week.

I know, 49 Days, can you believe it???

I was talking with a woman I work with the other day, she and her husband did parasailing during a recent trip to Bermuda, she said they had such a blast parasailing!!! I'm kind of getting excited about it myself. I'm having two cameras with me for that, I'm going to ask someone on the boat to take photos of my DD and I, as we take off and come back down, then I'm going to take a camera with me, and get some arial shots, that's as long as I don't drop the camera!!! LOL!!!

I can't wait for the parasailing myself.....DW is a little nervous as well, but, I think I can get her more comfortable with it the closer we get to cruise time....anyone who does it will have a blast of a lifetime......you will be anywhere from 500 to 1000 feet up and will have a spectacular view of the island and should definitely bring a camera(waterproof) with you to capture the sights and share with others.....Andy

Oh yes, waterproof camera, I forgot to mention that. The woman I work with, she and her husband were dipped during their parasailing adventure. She said they could also see giant sea turtles in the water below them, but she didn't have her camera with her. We already purchased one waterproof camera, I think I might get myself a second one. We did get our DD a one time use camera, but that one is not waterproof. My digital camera is staying on LAND!!!

I was thinking of taking our 35mm camera when I go Parasailing...it has a wrist strap so I could wrap it around my wrist to minimize the cahnce of dropping it. I figured that since we got the digital, we never use the 35mm anymore, so if I drop it, I wouldn't be too upset.
Do you really think we would need a waterproof camera for parasailing? I thought the risk of getting wet was minimal, since you're in the air:earseek:

I would definitely get a waterproof camera because there is a possibility that you will get dipped into the water and will probably get your 35mm camera wet....

Mary, did you read this in my last post?

I just had to share this photo with all of you. I captured this yesterday afternoon while the Magic was going past two palms. This photo capture was the highlight of my day and gave me goose bumps. I was having one of those, "never could you believe it days," everything that could go wrong, did, but seeing this ship, made ALL my anguish, disappear.

48 Days and Counting!!! :D :D :D
