August 22 2010 - WONDER

Hi Cyndi! Welcome!! I'm sorry this is our 1st cruise so I have no information about the teen areas. My boys are younger. We are trying to get a FE going Skelly is organizing it. Hopefully someone else can answer you.

PS I own at the BC its our favorite resort complex. Being so close to world showcase rocks. and the boys love SAB. We have a hard time getting them out of the pools.

Hi everyone. Wondering if we can join in? We just booked this cruise on Friday. It will be me (Melissa), my dh, my mom and dad. We did our first Disney cruise in May, a 3 day, followed by a trip to Disney. We loved the cruise so much, we decided to book it for our anniversary trip. We booked GTY rooms and can't wait to get our assignments.

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Hi everyone!

We just booked this cruise at the last minute as a B2B with the super-expensive 5-night cruise (Aug. 17th). We were trying to figure out what to do with the rest of our vacation and DH said, "let's just get back on the ship".:rotfl: Prior to the Aug. 17th cruise we are staying a few nights at the YC. :cloud9:

This will be our 3rd cruise. Our CM's include: me (Cyndi), DH (Scott) and DS13 (Ben). Many names on this list look familiar. We were on the August 2008cruise that I *think* was the tropical storm Fay cruise. We ended up returning to Fort Lauderdale instead of PC. Does this sound right to any of you on that cruise? We did the DisMeet on that cruise but not the FE's. We're up for the FE's this time.

Since DH booked this on his own, I'm not sure of the cabin #. But it is one of the Cat3's at the back of the ship. It is a HA room--they just released them as they were not needed. So, our room would be 8100 or 8600-ish. This will be our third time in one of these rooms since we tend to upgrade at the last minute.

Can anyone tell me what happened with the Aloft vs. Tween area? DS13 was so looking forward to Aloft. He'll be bummed if he can't go. What happened after dry dock? DS would love to meet some other teens. He is very much into baseball and loves to play ping pong on the ship.

Can't wait to meet you all!

Cyndi

Hi Cyndi.....we definitely remember you from the Tropical Storm Fay Wonder cruise from two years ago. That was the one where we did the B2B and avoided having to get up so early when the ship disembarked in Fort Lauderdale.

So funny that you booked a B2B this time.....we almost booked the 8/17 sailing but were completely scared off by the price....just couldn't justify the additional cost for one more day.

We're very forward forward on this cruise...up on deck 8 but forward enough that we won't hear any noise from deck 9.

Regarding the Aloft....I believe the age range is 13-17 so your DS will be fine. I believe it was the Magic that changed the ages in their teen clubs.

Glad you are up for the FE...I know we didn't do that on our last Wonder cruise, so its nice that we're having one for this cruise.

Welcome!!!! You'll love the extra day on the Wonder. Remember to tell your servers that its your anniversary and what day you want to celebrate it in the dining room. You'll get a lovely cake that night.

Happy 4th of July weekend holiday to everyone in the states!!!

Have you seen the weather forecast for those of us in the northeastern U.S.!!!! Yikes....95 degrees by Sunday/Monday. Sheesh - I don't think it gets that hot on Castaway Cay. Talk about putting me in a cruising mood.

I am now spending my time watering my vegetable garden and my flower beds - its been bone dry here lately. I'll be eating my first crop of green beans this weekend - everything is coming in much earlier than usual.

I am off to see the 3rd Twilight movie, Eclipse, today. I'll admit it, I'm a big fan of the books. Eclipse got good reviews so I'm looking forward to it.

Hi everyone. Been meaning to chime in and tell you that we ended up canceling the cruise part of our vacation. I was disappointed at first, but we still have 8 nights at Universal (new to us) and will be going to SeaWorld/ Discovery Cove to make up for not being able to swim with dolphins in Nassau. I'm checking out the prices and dates on the Dream; I will get on a Disney ship someday! Have a wonderful 4th and enjoy your cruise everyone. Bon Voyage!:boat:

I'm sorry you're not going to be able to join us, but enjoy the time there ... time off is still time off to enjoy.

Hi I'm also a fan of the Twilight series. I haven't seen the movie yet. My girlfriends and I are all going together and we couldn't get a date everyone could go till the 15th. I'm really looking forward to it.

Count us in for the FE. :thumbsup2 (me, DW, DS(15), DS(12), DD(9)) Is there a list of who is involved? We've read up a bit on the FE, but this is our first cruise so we will also need to know how it is being done. (e.g., # of gifts, who gets gifts etc.) :)

Hi Ski-and-Sea! :flower3:

We're hoping the weather is better this August! ;)

We are doing the 5-night with DH's cousin and his family. The men are very excited because they used to spend summers together in Savannah when they were kids. You'd think they were still a couple of kids the way they are talking about this cruise. Anyway, with the second family coming, we upgraded to the Roy O. Disney Suite. I am so excited!

Since my original post I have read that the Wonder is creating a tween area too, but not until December. DS will be happy. I don't think he'd want to hang out with 10 year olds now that he is 13. :snooty:

Take care!
Cyndi

So I was just looking on the DCL website for fun to see how many rooms would come up for our cruise and there seems to be a Cat 3 available. If anyone one wanted to try to upgrade the day of the cruise it looks like at least that is available.

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been gone for a bit ... things at work went insane.

I'm trying to get the list of those interested in the FE exchange together. Can you post or message me directly if you are interested in joining? From reading through trails we have 12 or so families on the board ... but not sure who is in for the exchange or not!

68 Days to go ... but who's counting?

Our cabin is 8600. Thanks again for organizing.

Cyndi

Smallworld71....sorry you had to cancel the cruise, but at least you're looking at sailing the Dream so maybe its just a "postponement" of your cruise.

For you Twilight fans....Eclipse was very good, definitely the best of the three Twilight movies so far. I'm going to try to see it again next week.

Wow the weather here was blistering hot this week. On Tuesday I was driving around doing errands and the outside temperature was 109!!! Wednesday was just 102. Unbelievable. Today the temps were in the upper 80s but a lot more humid so it felt just as bad.

Speaking of movies....I just saw the movie poster for the next Harry Potter movie(s)....it depicts Hogwarts castle on fire....really cool poster.

Let's hope the Atlantic Ocean stays nice quiet through the end of the summer.

You'll love the Roy Suite....we stayed in the Walt Suite last year on the Magic as DH and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. Take advantage of everything Concierge offers.

Welcome! It's a fun trip. I've got two boys ages 9 and 6, and a 2 year old DD, so the boys will see each other in the kids clubs.

When you get a chance, please let me know what room you will be in and I'll add it to the list. I'll get the final list of FE participants sent out soon.

Hello Everyone,

We booked this cruise only a few weeks ago after finding a 'cannot say no to this' price on a gty 12. This will be our 3rd DCL cruise in just over a year and we have two more booked - repeat after me - my name is Karen and I'm a Disney Cruise Addict!

DH has to leave to go back to work on the 21st so myself and DDs are slipping this in before the Pin Event. DD16 also gets her GCSE results during the cruise so there will be a very nervous phone call as soon as we wake up on the 24th!!

So looking forward to it - we are just planning to relax and enjoy - oh and to go Pandora shopping in Nassau! :dance3:

We would love to join in the FE exchange if it's not too late - we are in 2058 and are myself (Karen), Sophie (16) and Eleanor (11).

Look forward to meeting you all onboard!
