Hi Everyone. I'm hoping maybe this thread picks up soon. Let me introduce my cast of characters. We are also from Long Island. We have owned DVC for 10 years so we go to WDW fairly regularly. We have never cruised before so we are very excited. My boys and I are huge Harry Potter fans. We are going to Universal for a few days before the cruise and WDW for a week after the cruise.

DH ~ Brian AKA Dad, Disney Brat being dragged to US for WWOHP
We are celebrating our 20th Wedding Anniversary on the cruise

Liam~ 10 yr old DS Big Hockey fan, loves planning WDW w/Mom cruise is a 10th Birthday present
Kieran ~ 7 yr old DS Twin, Baseball player, mad scientist and has told everyone since he is 3 that he is going to be the President of either Disney or USA (I told him go for Disney )
Declan ~ 7 yr old DS Twin, on ASD we call him Ferb a man of few words, loved Toy Story, Monsters Inc, computers, swimming

We would love to do a FE it sounds like a blast.

We just booked a back to back cruise for Aug 22nd and Aug 26th back to backs. My kids have been lobbying me to take them back, but I think it's really the DH who's the biggest kid of them all.

The family consists of me, DH, and our three musketeers DS (he's 9), DS #2 (he's 6), and the baby of the family, our 2 year old DD.

This will be our fourth (and I guess fifth technically) cruise and boy do we need a vacation. In stateroom 8034 this time around.

Ski and Sea --- we're going to see you again this year! I think you were on one of the August cruises last year, right?

Quickly read through the posts so far ... we'll do the FE if there is one. And, if we need someone to coordinate, I'm happy to do so if that helps.

And ... it's only 90 days to go ... yeah!

Mine was do in May. I don't know if that is because I did it through a travel agent. I paid it in April anyway so we could start booking excursions and it had to be paid in full to do that. Now you can start booking excursions.

I guess I am not getting email notices that this thread has been updated..so I am glad I checked in....just finished booking my boyfriend's excursions and decided to check us out! Yay...so glad to see more of us chime in!

We are in for FE exchange...
We ended up booking the Atlantis Aquadventure and the Extreme something or other on castaway cay...biking, snorkeling, tube and stingrays.

Skelly, thanks for offering to organize the FE exchange and good for you with doing a back to back! Jealous here!

Pixiedustdawn: Holy cow...a whole month...Now I am really green with envy! How lucky for you and your family!

SmallWorld and Dream426...more teachers! How many days left of school for you? I am at 13...we go all the way to the 25th...AND...start before labor day again this year!

Dream426: we do indeed live so close to one another...My boyfriend's brother also lives in washingtonville...I forget the name of the development...the one by the winery...we joke that the houses look like the houses from the movie poltergeist (sp?) because they all are basically identical...beautiful, but identical!!

We (me, my husband, and my sister-in-law) booked the atlantis aquaventure also. Our parents are doing the beach one because they don't want to do the waterpark.

Tinkified I know where that development is. We don't live far but I don't know the name of it either. Haha We live like 1 minute from the winery.

We have 8 days left of school but then I have to set up for camp which starts the week after school ends. I will miss the last week of camp because of the trip. We are doing Disney World before the cruise.

Hi everyone.....sorry I've been MIA for so many months. Its been crazy for me since the fall.

Last October I had othroscopic surgery on my ankle. That was the second surgery on that ankle in two years. The surgery was a complete success but I found out that the physical therapist who helped me recover after the first surgery had changed employers and his new office was twice as far as his old one.

I did not want to start over with a new physical therapist so I've been sucking it up and traveling miles to the new location. Well worth it.

Things were progressing so well that I started up ski racing again this winter. I started out slow but got much better with each race. I accomplished my goals for the season.

Then disaster struck - we were skiing on a warm day and the snow was very soft and I crashed three gates from the bottom and badly sprained my left knee. That was February 20th.

Of course, the same leg that had the ankle surgeries.

Somehow I did not tear any ligaments, but the damage was just as severe. I had to have the knee drained twice there was so much fluid.

So now I'm going twice a week to the physical therapist for therapy on the knee.

Plus, I am a softball coach for my daughter's team. The season is almost over - it was absolutely crazy because we had so many rain outs this season.

So I don't have much of a life between softball and physical therapy.

But this cruise is coming up very, very quickly so time to get back to the DIS boards.

We are a family of four:
Me (KC), Roger (DH) and Robert (15) and Kristine (will be 14 by August). This is our 10th cruise: 5 on Magic and this will be 5th on Wonder.
We are staying in 8016.
We are spending four days in WDW before the cruise (Yacht Club).
I just booked a snorkeling trip in Nassau through Stuart Cove.
We live in northern NJ
I am a HUGE Mets fan

Welcome to everyone who recently joined this thread. I definitely recognize names of those we have cruised with before. Looking forward to seeing you all again and meeting all the new ones.

I am up for participating in the FE. I was part of one on my last cruise - I took the easy way out and bought my FE on Ebay. It still sits proudly in my bedroom.

We are watching it and my "Dopey" DH ( just kidding) ordered one of those vuvuzuleas (the horn making the buzzing sound) for my DS My DS is very interested in South Africa. He did a big presentation on it this year for 4th grade.

Looking for some feedback please. We're a family of five, so by the time we pay for any of the Atlantis excursions, we could rent a room at Atlantis and partake of the activities as part of the room price. Has anyone done this before and did it work?

Also, for the repeat cruisers, what are some of your favorite things to do while we're docked in Nassau?

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been gone for a bit ... things at work went insane.

I'm trying to get the list of those interested in the FE exchange together. Can you post or message me directly if you are interested in joining? From reading through trails we have 12 or so families on the board ... but not sure who is in for the exchange or not!

Skelly.....I hear you about life being crazy........regarding Atlantis....I believe families book a day room at Comfort Suites which gives you access to all the Atlantis facilities. This is definitely cheaper than booking through DCL.

As for what else to do in Nassau.....we usually do a 1/2 day excursion so either we are on that or hanging out on the ship. It can be really hot and humid in Nassau so we tend not to do any walking around Nassau.

Hi everyone!

We just booked this cruise at the last minute as a B2B with the super-expensive 5-night cruise (Aug. 17th). We were trying to figure out what to do with the rest of our vacation and DH said, "let's just get back on the ship". Prior to the Aug. 17th cruise we are staying a few nights at the YC.

This will be our 3rd cruise. Our CM's include: me (Cyndi), DH (Scott) and DS13 (Ben). Many names on this list look familiar. We were on the August 2008cruise that I *think* was the tropical storm Fay cruise. We ended up returning to Fort Lauderdale instead of PC. Does this sound right to any of you on that cruise? We did the DisMeet on that cruise but not the FE's. We're up for the FE's this time.

Since DH booked this on his own, I'm not sure of the cabin #. But it is one of the Cat3's at the back of the ship. It is a HA room--they just released them as they were not needed. So, our room would be 8100 or 8600-ish. This will be our third time in one of these rooms since we tend to upgrade at the last minute.

Can anyone tell me what happened with the Aloft vs. Tween area? DS13 was so looking forward to Aloft. He'll be bummed if he can't go. What happened after dry dock? DS would love to meet some other teens. He is very much into baseball and loves to play ping pong on the ship.
