august 2013 codes for rental cars?

$190 full size with dollar. Used them last june when we went. No issues, but decline the sun pass if they ask, its like a $70 charge for something thatll cost two bucks. Aug 18-28.

I'm looking for the 19-29th and can't get it below $217 - UGH! If I could get $190 I'd book it and be done with it.

Can you tell me what you're using? Are you logging in as an Express member?

$174.66 for a Standard with Alamo. 8/22 10 am to 8/31 7 am.
I signed in as a Insider and I used the ViSA coupon (AD2338FDF).

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I did the same thing and for a standard car for 2 weeks with Alamo, I get $658........this is using the same coupon and as an Insider. It shouldn't be this much more for 14 days vs 9 days rental. Where am I going wrong?:confused3

What are your dates and times?
It very well may be that your something in your dates is still triggering the high prices. It seems the low prices are for the very end of August into the start of September right now.

I am getting 199 for your dates with Alamo. I am signed in as an insider (free to join on the website and gives you 10% off ) and using a Mastercard coupon code for a free day (AF2604JDN). If you don't have Mastercard you can use the Visa coupon maybe? That one gives you $30 off and should bring the total a bit lower. That code is AD2338FDF.

Now it may go a little higher if you are keeping it for any extra hours.

The rates that I am getting are still CrAzY :worried:

This year we extended our usual trip of 9 days to be 13 - and I budget $300 for a rental. For 3 years now, I have always paid under $200 for a mid-size thru small SUV, with the average being around $155.

My dates are 8/6 10 pm pickup at MCO, 8/19 3 pm drop off at MCO.

As of today using a Visa code on Alamo (with "Insiders"), the quote is $610 :confused3 ... with a MC code ("free day"), it is $599.69.

With the KLM code for National (Emerald Club), the rate is $408.00. That one is a little better, but I am a little nervous to use it because of the "included" insurance and whatnot.

I have no idea why my prices are still so high. While I don't expect to score a rate as good as I did for the past 3 years, I am hoping for less than $300 for the 13 days. It's not looking good for me:faint:

I am going crazy too. Last week I booked a 4 day rental from 8/15 - 8/18 for $117. We were not picking up the car until 8am on the 15th so paying for hours we were not using. I was happy with that. Of course the changes continue and we decide to stay at ASMu our first night instead of the airport Hyatt. Figure get as much Disney time in as possible. Rate flies through the roof. Now I am getting rates over $200 for 4 days.:faint: Makes me nutso.:confused3 Of course I was plugging away last week with all different combos of codes and not sure what codes combined even got me that rate. Just booked through AAA using the Costco code for 25% off and free upgrade. Got $167 which I am not thrilled with. But at least under $200. Gonna keep trying.:badpc: Is there one day that is cheaper to rent on than others?

I am having the same problem. Rates are outrageous. Sitting on a $390 :scared:
Rate now, and is actually looking good at this point. 14 days 8/8-8/22. No extra hours either. :badpc:

No idea what I am doing differently.

August 14th to the 28th......a Wednesday to a Wednesday with noon pick-up and drop-off. It is an airport rental at Alamo.

Wow.. I tried everything I knew and all of your rates are so high:sad2:. It's got to be that it starts so early in the month. The only thing I can think of is using Priceline "Name Your Own Price" feature right before you go. You bid basically and then when your offer is accepted they reveal the name of the company. All of the companies they use are in the Orlando airport and you will see a list of them before you bid. Car companies use Priceline to move inventory that they couldn't book. It only gets really low a week or less before you leave though.

These are our exact dates as well. Found the best rate with Dollar - but we have never used them (only used Alamo) so I'm not sure what to expect. The rate I got was almost $300 less than through Alamo, which is why I'm a bit hesitant....

I have the same problem as well with rates. My dates August 10 to August 26. I can't get rates less than 700 for the entire trip. Last year I paid less then 250 for the same time. Hopefully the rates will go down as we get closer. I have rented from dollar before and have not had any problems. I prefer Alamo because you can pick your own car but other than that dollar is fine and I would not hesitate to rent from them if I was going to save $300.

Just rebooked my reservation 8/31-9/8 on Alamo with visa code for $150.36. It was at 190, hoping it goes a little lower but I can live with 150!

I have two reservations at Enterprise in Chattanooga and have noticed that is more to rent from the airport location than from the other location close by. Is this true of most rental places?

What site did you rent through? I just tried AAA and my prices are way higher. I used the visa code but not sure of which contract id.

I just went to Alamo's regular site, logged in as insider member (free to join) and used the visa code no contract id and got that rate. I am picking up at 10 am and dropping off at 7:30 pm.

Thanks so much. Gonna work it now and see what happens.

I am trying to book these exact dates, but need to pick up in Tampa and drop in Orlando. I am getting Alamo quotes of $570. How can it be that a drop charge is $420? (Of course it doesn't even list a drop charge in the details.)
