Braving the heat and rain...going Aug. 14-21, staying at POP! Three months to go!

100 day mark for us. Since, I can't post a new ticker for this surprise trip, I have a mickey count down on my phone. Both of my kids think it is a countdown to when we can book our September 2013 trip.

Dh and I are trying to plan, but it is hard to talk when the kids always seem to be around.

Finally made a decision!!!
Dh and I had half an hour after the kids went to school and before he left for work to sit down and go over the numbers and details. There's so many things to consider and it seems we can never get a minute where we aren't busy or being interrupted to discuss all the pros and cons of ddp/no ddp, onsite or Bonnet Creek, flying/driving etc.

So here it is folks. 11 nights, Bonnet Creek 2 bedroom. Mostly cooking in condo but some off and onsite dinners and lunches, one night booked with an AP rate at Royal Pacific so we can have 2 front of the line days at Universal. And we're flying as long as we can keep it under 1500. I think we can.. in fact I see flights I want today but need to wait a few more days. Not too worried about it though.

Finally a plan!!!
Gina I will check out the menus of the places you suggested today! We enjoy the Olive Garden. We aren't looking for fancy. Just yummy and affordable and these choices seem to fit the bill

We had that problem too when we suprised our kids. So we just talked about the trip as if we were going when they knew our next trip would be (like for you guys in 2013) and that way we didn't have too much trouble hiding the trip. They were helping plan the suprise trip and didnt' even know it!

Yes!! This is what we did as well. It worked perfectly. They still got to help me pick all the restaurants and plan activities and the resort. However they thought they were going 6 months later than they actually were. We surprised them 2 days before the trip. Both of them were so happy that they cried!! It was AWESOME and I think a lot of the reason it went so well is that they were already so excited for the "December" trip and had helped us plan.
Would you believe I didn't film their reaction because I had read so many bad stories of the kids not reacting well to a surprise?!
I will always regret that because it couldn't have been a more perfect reaction. Hugs and laughter and happy tears and big wide eyes. One of the best memories I have

90 days for me!! DH and I are taking his 20 year old niece. This is her first time to Disney....her first time anywhere really! She's never been on a plane before.

I sent her a picture of the welcome sign at 100 days (email) and this morning I emailed her a picture of the castle. I'm going to send her something every 10 days until it's time!! Cant' wait!
