I'm planning an Aug. trip too. My DS8's birthday is the 3rd and my Mom's is the 2nd, but I think we will go a little later (maybe 11-18th) and try to hit that late Aug gap. I'm really hoping for free dining. Have any of you been in August before? I've only been in Dec and Oct. and am wondering just how hot and humid it will be.

Thanks! That's what I thought. I would LOVE to go in December again, but since this is suppose to be my son's birthday trip I guess August it will have to be. I'd just like to miss the big summer crowds and am hoping for free dining.

Oh to get a pin code. I have joined every Disney club there is, responded to every survey we have received (both online and in the parks) but have yet to receive a code.

Oh well, we already have Free Dining for 2009 so I can't complain. Also, I would not be surprised to see some pretty significant discounts for August and September give the fabulous 3 free nights deal Disney ran all the way from January to June.

I just saved 700.00 on a bounce-back with AKL and 750.00 on a Poly stay.
10 nights total, 5 at each. It was 30% off for 1 A and 1C for 8/25 - 9/4..

I am thinking free dining would not exceed that offer. Although.....still hoping for a good AP rate!!

Not in August, no. Value starts this yr on 8/23 for AUGUST.

Value season runs August 9 - October 1. The discounts don't seem to be starting until the 23rd. I also want to travel in the earlier part of the month so I have had my eyes open.

Yes...My bd is just B4 those days and I can;t go for dd's bd (which is after sher school starts)
IF....value resorts get a FD this Aug...(early) I may have to change from SSR to POP...BIG CHANGE, huh>

I wonder when we'll start seeing summer discounts? The 4/3 deal goes until the end of June, and after that what (if anything) will be offered is anyone's guess. For the last couple of years, the deals have been better after July so I am keeping my fingers crossed. Right now we are staying value but I would love to upgrade.
