August 2009 code watch

Thanks for the advice... I called and was able to make a reservation for Animal Kingdom Lodge- Savannah View Room with bunk beds for my 2 nieces! I'm so excited because that is exactly what I wanted.

It took forever due to some glitches with the computer system, but it's all good. Or at least hopefully they will figure out how to add the girls' names to the reservation... (that was why I was on hold forever)

so -- i come home from work tonight to find a 40% code in my inbox - but we need to go one of the two prior weeks before aug 23rd!!! really bummed - is it a possibilty that we may get some sort of discount at that time - this will be our 4th trip but usually go in march or may -- i am trying to save as much as possible on this trip as we were not going to go - but the mouse is calling us back :rotfl: !! we are going regardless of a discount - but that would just make it more sweeter!!!

There were discounts last August and the year before. I can't imagine there won't be any this year. There is always the AAA 20% if you belong. I'm waiting also.

Add us to the list. We did a bounce back when we were there in November. We will be staying in Pop Century on Aug. 23 - 30. We just miss, for the first time in years, my DH birthday by a couple of days figures when he would get in free. Hoping for free dining!!!!

Due to financial issues we had to cancel our reservations to the ASMuFS for August. Although dissapointing it looks like '10 will be better for us with the Hogwarts opening and giving us more flexability to try for earlier in the summer for discounts. On top of all the problems with making ADR's right now and flight schedules all over the place...it just wasn't going to happen.

I'll still be on the lookout for good deals in case things change of course :)

We're booked Aug 20-30/09 ASMu Family Suite!! Now I hope Free Dining becomes available for GP.
Who do you book travel insurance through?? Is Disney's plan a good one?

We booked insurance through www.insuremytrip.com. Mousesavers recommended it and it was a lot cheaper than the Disney plan and included more. The website gives you a bunch of insurance options to choose from. We chose Travelex, I am pretty sure that is it. More than covered our trip to ASMu Family Suites for 2 weeks with everything for $110. We are a family of 5 too. Disneys plan was more money and covered less.

Thanks for the advice, I'm going to check it out.:goodvibes

Don't go through Expidia or sites like that - they do not list the discount Airlines. We've found the best prices and flights are on JetBlue and Southwest.pixiedust:

Thanks Kparc. Its frustrating how much airline fares fluctuate in just a week, depending on what sites you check and what day of the week and what time of day you check! It would help if the school district my boyfriend's nephew attends would announce when they go back to school in the fall already too!!

Yeah, I plan on using Southwest just because they don't charge any crazy fees, plus they tend to have some great fares. Unfortunately, they only have fares listed thru June and we aren't going until September. We can't wait!!! :)

I'm taking just my oldest dd Aug 24-29. We got the 40% PIN a few weeks ago so I booked Pop with that. It came to $276. Could have had AKL Standard view for $810 but trying to keep the costs low as she wants a day at Discovery Cove (yikes is that expensive!). So Pop it is, we've stayed there before and liked it.

I have 3 days left on my ticket and we have a $250 credit on Jet Blue from the trip DH and I just took so I think I can do this trip (aside from the DC thing) relatively on the low side.

Gosh how I would love to get a pin code like everyone else has been talking about. :sad2: We are going Aug 20-29. The 20-24 we are staying at the Treehouse villas with the in-laws but then we are moving to probably Pop. We haven't made reservations yet. Waiting for a special at this point since I've NEVER :confused3 seen a pin code in all my years of being registered on the website and visiting. You are all so lucky to have gotten those codes! :thumbsup2

Don't give up! I never got one till last summer. I used it when I went last August. I got another last fall that I couldn't use and now I got this one. Keep requesting the planning DVDs, can't hurt! I hope you get one soon!

MomofCKJ - :wave2: if you don't mind me asking - what was the start date for the 40% off. We are planning on going - Aug 17 to August 27th?
