August 20, 2006 4 nite Wonder! 08/20/06

wow dis you really make reservations for the cruise in Sept? My family and I are also shipping out on that date!!
We LOVE DISNEY cruising!!
K

No docs for me either..boo. I am hoping to get them this week too!! I will be traveling with dh and two ds-11 1/2 & 10...I KNOW i'll never see them during the 4 days--except for dinner (we make it a point to get together then).

Hi to you first dcl cruisers!!
It is a wonderful cruise-even better than Carnival in my opinion. Here's some tips though:
When you have your cruise reservation number go online to disneycruiseline site and fill out cruise registration forms, yes online!! Also, fill out forms for your children to enter the children's programs. Doing these two things will certainly shorten your time on line in the terminal--and when you board you won't have to waste time going to the children's area to sign themn up--it can be completed before you board in the terminal!!
After the cruise you will be part of Disney's Castaway Cay member for past guests--and if you ever decide on taking another dcl cruise there will be perks!
PS: there's PLENTY of food and snacks on board 24/7, so you won't have to bring your own--except if you want to take them on your excursions--deck 9 supplies juice, milk, water, and coffee 24/7 too!!

Our family always travels with food popcorn:: My girls live on juice boxes and fruit snacks so we always have them with us on vacation. I find it's much easier in the morning to just give them a cerear bar and a juice box. It's much easier than trying to get them both dressed and myself dressed at such an ungodly hour. I'm a single mom with no help and it gets difficult to travel sometimes  It's official. I need help. I have bought way too much stuff for this trip!! I have told myself, that I can't purchase anything else until we go!

My documents arrived today! :cheer2:
I am sooooooo not organized, I am working 20 days in a row without a day off (not by choice) and I have no time to do anything. My next day off is not until 8/12 and I still have clothes to buy for the kids. I need a vacation so bad I am counting down the days.... :hourglass

It's official!!!! Our documents arrived in the mail. My sister received her documents yesterday and the rest of us received ours today!!! We are really excited now

    Aren't these bananas great. They are exactly how I feel! I almost (almost) did this dance today when I see that we are under the 20 day mark!!
Elisa

They were waiting for me in the mailbox when I got home yesterday. Now I really feel like my vacation is a reality! :goodvibes :goodvibes

Got my documents yesterday--yeah.

But if it wasn't for my niece I would be tempted to cancel--I know, I know--whatever for? Just crazy with work. July was a horror, but August was looking pretty good. I was sure I could catch up with all my work before I left, with a minimum of effort--well I was wrong. Seems my co-worker is taking vacation the week before me and I'm expected to do her work along with my own. So for the next two weeks I'll be working like a fiend and doing overtime. So, I'll be totally exhaused before my vacation--have the one stinking week off--then come back and have to work three times as hard to catch up my work, because lord knows no one can cover for me while I'm gone. Sorry to vent, I'm just a little depressed and feeling sorry for myself right now. I kind of feel better just putting this on paper (so to speak). Thanks for listening.

Happywanderer.....hang in there, only 17 days to go. I feel your pain, I am in a similar situation at work. I have a big calendar above my desk saying how many days left until vacation...I think the time will go by quick! Hoping it will anyway. :hourglass

Thanks TSBRN, I do feel a little better now. And I know there are a lot of other people in the same boat. And it is because of my job that I can afford to go on a Disney cruise--so I really have no right to complain.

I'll just have to remember to stay in the present and not worry about the future. My mantra will be "savor every moment as it comes". :)

Our docs arrived today :thumbsup2 now it's time to get excited :woohoo:

I'm getting so excited I can hardly concentrate on anything else!
My teens were totally against dressing up for pirate night...now they decided they need Jack Sparrow hats and pirate t-shirts. I'm thrilled they are getting into the spirit of things.
If anyone is in need of Pirate stuff....e-bay has hats, t-shirts and even pirate mickey ear hats that you can only get at WDW. pirate:

:cool1: Hi all, don't know what happened but didn't receive any e-mail that this thread was still alive... and the workload was too high to take the time to check it out :guilty:

But here the docs arived on friday, so everything is all-right. As we do a pre-cruise tour of Florida we can start thinking abouth packing, we're leaving on the 13th of august, just 8 days to go! As temperature have dropped here below 70F  we're realy looking forward to it.

Kids still don't know abouth the cruiseplans so the surprise will be great :thumbsup2

I'll try to convince the kids to make a 'Belgium' banner for the 'Hotel'door. ;)

:jumping1: party: :disrocks: :jumping1:

Hi Eldee,
It's great that you have been able to keep it a secret. I can't keep a secret to save my life. :confused3 I decided to book a room at the Atlantis. So our plans for Nassau are, Straw Market, Ardastra Gardens and then off to Atlantis for some swimming and looking around. Does anyone know what time we have to be back to the ship on that night? Also, what night is the pirate dinner? pirate:
Elisa :wave2:

Hi CastleCreations and everybody else sailing on 08/20,

with regard to the Nassau visit this is the timing I received from Sue-Ellen, a great TA from DU: "The ship docks at about 9:30 a.m. and is there until around 7:30 p.m." :)
If you don't want to mis a dinner on the ship, it depends of course also on which seating you've chosen...
Hope this helps you out. We're doing the Dolphin encounter in Nassau

Found some limecollored shirts, so I'll try to be at Goofy's pool by 2pm boarding day togeter with DW, DD15 :tinker: , DD12 pooh: and DD6 ::MinnieMo

See you :surfweb:

Hi Eldee....I wondered what happened to you, glad you and your family are still cruising! That is a wonderful surprise for your kids, I wouldn't be able to keep a secret that long.

Castle creations....sounds like you have a great day planned on Nassau. I still can't make up my mind what to do. I am pretty sure the Pirate night is on the third night of the cruise. pirate:

Just booked the cruise yesterday!! Total surprise for my 6 year old son. He has been a total trooper this summer because his almost 14 year old sister has spent almost 4 weeks horse showing and he has been shuffled off to camp, family and horse shows. So this is all for HIM!!!!!!

Can't wait, wonder when my docs will arrive??? :goodvibes

This is our 3rd trip on the wonder, first 4 day, timing is just never good, so we tend to do last minute things, but this is very last minute!!! Hope it all works out and see you there!

:wave2: Hi. I would think that you will get your docs right away. I hope I remember to bring mine..LOL.
Elisa

Welcome ClarabelleCow....Hope to see you at the DIS meet @ 2pm @ Goofy pool!! :sunny:
