August 20, 2006 4 nite Wonder! 08/20/06

Nice to see that the cruise fills up :thumbsup2 Welcome to all.

disnutz, nice to hear some people are interested in the Dutch language, it's not a common one but interesting enough.

We've booked 2 cat9 with connecting doors on deck 2, prefered this solution above a cat4 for 5 people ;) and we save some pocketmoney for the trip.

For the moment the family doesn't know abouth this, just that I've booked some surprise for 4 days :rolleyes1 ... still wondering if I'll keep it a surprise till the end or tell them before?

Cdndisneyer -

I tooam a litttle worried about my tweener, but I hear only good things.I think it would really help if I could persuade her that there will be a friendlyface aboard! :)

Eldee - my DD is very intoother cultures and languages, and if she could learn some new,she would be very excited. We have friends who have a niece fromthe Netherlands, and Rachel loved to hear about her culture when she visited.

We are in a Cat 6,on deck 6. Thinking of door signs now!!!

Hi Disnutz,

just seen in your other posts that you'll also be at WDW :thumbsup2 after the cruise. We too :cool1: . Originaly we planned to go for a Villa in Orlando but with the free dining option we couldn't resist :Pinkbounc . Still waiting for my confirmation from DU with regard to reservations. We'll stay six nights at the Port Orleans Riverside if it's confirmed.
I've also seen that DU has again lower prices :woohoo: for the 08/20 cruise so I've asked to check and eventually take over my reservation from DCL. Have the feeling DU is giving more service and information :thumbsup2 than DCL itself.

Just 130 days to go... :rolleyes2

Bye,

I used DU for the cruise, and saved about $500!! :cool1:

We'll be staying at WL after the cruise. I have stayed at POR and loved it - I think your family will too!

Hi all :wave2: ,

Kicking this up so fellow cruisers can still join.

I was able to transfer my reservation to DU. This saved me 300$ on the cruise :cool1: . The combination with the aftercruise DW visit (with free dining) is also great value :thumbsup2 . And as your president is driving the exchange rate down, this travel is becoming cheaper by the day :Pinkbounc . Wondering if I'll do the full payment now or wait still some weeks...

Time to work on some further planning...

Greetz :sunny:

Hello everyone:wave2: ,

I was just checking to see if anyone else had signed in but it looks like we're the only ones on this boat. :confused3 But I'm sure there are a few lurkers out there (cause I'm usually one of them!) and I can't figure out how to bump this message to entice someone else to sign in.

I too have booked through DU. Did a lot of comparison shopping before hand and they had the best price by far. I'm also watching the exchange rate and hanging in hoping its goes up even further before I make that last payment. The rate has been better than last year so I already feel like I'm ahead.

I'm starting to think "cruise" now - picked up some pirate-themed T-shirts for my DDs not too long ago. This pirate night sounds fun ( I love pirates) and I've talked to my DDs about doing a door sign so we'll be thinking of some ideas for that.

Cheers

I am going to start working on our door sign too - right after I get back from Vegas next week!

They have a lot of really cute scrapbook decorations at Michaels. I am thinking of getting the magnetic paper but doing more of a scrapbook page.

I just got my passporter! It is a great resource!!! I am not sure I can stand waiting for the next 116 days!!!!

I can't wait either! I've been on other cruises, but it must be the pixie dust making me so whirly about this. It's about time to book for shore excusions and my niece wants to go to the aquarium--has anyone been? Is it worth it?

Our family which includes a 12 year old son, and 17 year old daughter will be on the 8/20...second time for us...can't wait... :cool1:

First time cruiser here....myself and 13 and 16 year old sons will be joining you all August 20th on the Wonder. I just discovered these boards and am learning all I can! What is DU that everyone talks about booking through?
Hope I have that abbreviation correct!
:sunny:

:thumbsup2 Hi everyone, welcome to all. Looking forward to a great cruise adventure.
TSBRN: DU you can find by clicking the banner on top of this page... ;-)

See you all :wave2:

Hi everyone, we're coming with you. We are from Surrey in the UK. Two children aged 6(girl) and 4 (boy). Our daughters 7th birthday is on 22nd August so she'll be celebrating on the ship. Does anyone know whether they do anything special for children's birthdays? Looks like it's going to be a great trip with friendly shipmates. Can't wait.

Namita :rotfl:

Everybody dance with me  :cool1:
I just made my final payment !!! :cheer2: and I was able to snag Palo reservations as well!! :yay:

Kids are all registered :woohoo:
And I am ready to gooooooo!!!!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Hi all,

got also all my reservations settled :cool1: Got the Dolphin encounter in Nassau and the banana boat ride in CC :thumbsup2 . Hope you all got through. Registered the kids for the clubs, don't yet know if it's a good idea as they don't speak English... :confused3

Skipped Palo as I prefer to stay with the kids...

Hope to meet you all soon... :dance3:

Greets from Belgium!

Hi Everyone!!
Is anyone interested in planning a meet or get together for the cruise?
I am not sure how to go about this since I am new to the DIS boards and will be my first cruise. :cool1:

Eldee--your dolphin excursion sounds great. I'm sure your girls will love it. I wish I could talk my boys into going on that but they aren't interested.

Vrs815--My son is also 16 going on the cruise. Hopefully you two can meet. Do you plan on going to the teen program?

Any advice from anyone traveling with teenagers as to what excursions would appeal to them? I have been holding off booking anything because I am so undecided as to what might be most enjoyable for a teen.

Anyone staying at the RonJon the night before the cruise? We will be there before, then 2 days after in Orlando (just haven't decided where).

Have a great day!! :sunny:

A cruise meet would be fun. Maybe we could get one of our more experienced cruisers to help with the how, when and where's of that.

we are actually coming in the night before but staying at the Nick Hotel in orlando. I thought the kids would like it.

A cruise meet would be fine :thumbsup2 but looking at the different hotel locations (We're at the Holiday Inn Cocoa Beach) I'm afraid it won't be before we're on-board that we can meet. Maybe some experienced cruiser could indicate a good place and moment after boarding to meet? party:

I agree...meeting onboard would be the best way to go.
I will look around the boards and get ideas of where other groups have met up once on the ship.

If no experienced cruisers are around to take charge, I guess one of us newbies will have to make the plans....yikes! :confused3

:hourglass Counting down the days till the cruise!!!

Hi all--it would be great to match faces with names at a dis-meet. I've been reading the boards and it looks like a lot of them get together at the Mickey or Goofy pools on the first day, around 2 or so. They wear lime green ribbons to let everyone know they are disboard people. Anyway, a suggestion. I really can't wait to go! I kind of feel like a little kid again waiting for summer vacation. :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
