I didnt realize there were two threads either, we need to somehow keep everybody on one thread :)

Two category fours connecting (8068 and 8070), waitlisted for a category three connecting to a four. Early dining. I was so excited when I first figured it out that I didnt even get their ages right.

My dds dont know about this one yet but we will probably tell them around Christmas and then they will be wanting to make some cruise buddies.

I am so thrilled to be cruising with the legendary Verandah Man :)

Oh yeah, forgot also thrilled about the Panama Canal part :)

Could someone please show where a diagram of the Magic is that includes all the room numbers so I can make sure my two rooms are connecting?

Thanks!!

Hi Kathy,

I'm just so excited about this 14 day cruise!!! We will probably fly to CA via FL, as we will take our DD to spend the two weeks with my mom, while Hazel and I go on this cruise. I haven't been able to convince Hazel on allowing DD to fly to FL by herself, even though she will be nearly 15 by then. I guess I'd feel a bit funny about it myself as the time got closer, being the "over protective dad" that I am told I am!!!

:teeth:

Hey Andy-- So glad you decided to join this happy group. We are going to have a great trip. I was wondering, as a fellow knee surgery person, did you have a replacement? I'm a double replacement person. Boy do I understand the great feeling of no pain afterwards.

Rae-- If you are lurking out there on this thread, we all hope you are well and will be joining us on the great trip thru the big ditch. You can even have a few extra shrimp...or maybe not. LOL
Ah the family day care folks need the computer so I have to get a quick look at the main board and then I'm gone. Estelle

Hi Kathy that was me and sure will.....
I started the thread before the cruises were officiall announced and now we have 7 of us in three cabins going :)

My DW, DD who will be 12 years old by then.
My parents who have cruised a number of years ago in the Med and Caribbean but never Disney and are ecstatic to be doing this along with two of our good friends who have accompanied us on our previous Disney cruises.

I don't know if it is common amongst alot of people but the day to day stuff involved in work and life can sometimes become a bit much, but the anticipation of spending time with your friends and family, the planning and thoughts of going to somewhere like this helps you get by some of the daily crap that goes on in the world :) (Wow now THAT IS a run on sentence but what the hay).

Uh just reread your request Kathy.. Did you want me to put EVERYONE's name into my original post that have indicated they're going? Yikes....
Ummm I'll have to work on that one in a bit OK? :)

Cheers,
Grumbo

I'm wondering if the the two original posters for this thread and the other could talk and decide which of the threads to keep as our official thread. I'm afraid things will get too confusing otherwise. Also it would be great if the original poster could edit their original posting to list all of the cruisers and their respective parties. This way we'll have everything in one place.

What do you guys think?

I have my DCL booklet in front of me, these cabins 8068 & 8070 are indeed connecting rooms, I just checked for you.

Sounds like a good plan to me!!!!! I get so easily confused, LOL!!!

I think that whatever thread we end up using as our official thread should have a listing somewhere of who is going. This way we can add/subtract names and have a quick visual to see who will be there. It will also be easier to see which kids will be there for your children to play with or maybe get to know before the cruise. You could list the party like this maybe:

user name, state/country they are from, and then the party listed (eg DW, DH, DD(age), DS(age)

Sorry to give you work Grumbo!

No total knee replacement yet, but that is in my future. Something nice to look forward too!!! NOT!!!

I will "try" and start doing it this week.
However please be patient with me on this one :)

Stanley Cup playoffs are on this weekend and we have to prioritize this stuff :)

Cheers,
Grumbo

I went to Amazon.com this morning and ordered the book by Anne Vipond; "Panama Canal by Cruise Ship: The Complete Guide to Cruising the Panama Canal" I thought this would be some good reading material as I recover the next few weeks. My book is due to be delivered by the end of this coming week.

Rae is already booked for this cruise as well, I have been in touch with her, one BIG PARTEE INDEED!!! I've already sent Rae a link to this thread!!!

Now, all Hazel and I have to do, is pay for it, LOL!!!

:jumping1: :jumping1:

This is sooooooo awesome! I have over a year to practice "keeping an eye on my shrimp!"

As for paying, I think we are all in the same boat! or Shall I say Ship!LOL

The biggest shock was booking the Grand Californian for three days prior! OUCH! But this is a once in a lifetime trip!

Scratch how much IS the Grand Californian? I had thought about it but haven't made any enquiries yet?
How are you flying out? U looking at Air Canada or something like JetsGo? To drive to Buffalo and SouthWest is under $500 Cdn for three people but still think we'll drive down to Pearson.

Cheers,
Grumbo

WooHoo.....My parents just added on to our booking.

We had 2 Category 10's (connecting) booked. Since there are 5 of us (me, DH, and 3 kids) we get stuck paying for 2 of our kids (an 8 and 7 yr old) as adults. So, adding my parents on, amounts to adding on 2 child's fares. For my parent's to go on a 14 day Panama Canal cruise, it will cost them each $690. Can you believe it. My Mom's face was priceless. She said "oh yeah. I think we'll go ahead and do that."

We will definately have to try and meet up with some Dis people. It looks like there are going to be a lot of us on this cruise!!! 469 days to go...not that I'm counting!!!

will be down the hall form you in 2580!!!

That was our stateroom for the April 17, 2004 sailing. We had a great time. It was a quiet room, seemed like a convenient location to us!

I did take the stairs to the 9th deck quite a few times to try and burn a few calories.

Just imagine what this DISmeet on the MAGIC will be like. Can we rent out Lumiere's for lunch one day??? LOL!!!
:hyper:

Usual meet and greet Deck 10 starboard(?)! There will be no one but Disers on that side of the ship. By the way I grew up in a Coast Guard family...you'd think I could rememeber which side is which.
Andy-- any questions on replacements I can probably answer. We did the April 17th cruise and then spent 4 days at WDW. For the first time in years I did all the parks without an electric chair. And the knees were in fine shape.
In case I didn't put this in before: the sailing group is DH, me, friends Allan and Jen and their son John who will be six by the time of the cruise.
I noticed there are several Pa. residents on the thread. Good to see you.
Off to the laundry and ironing...never ends. Estelle

Here is a link to the DCL Site where the ship layout is. It's a tad small of a picture, but you can read all the room numbers. I am quite sure we will all be getting the printed brochure from somewhere (T/A, DCL. etc) with the maps.

We are all nuts to be this excited this far out! I cruised on the WOnder in December of 2000, and I wasn't impressed. A dear friend wrote some great trip reports from her Magic sailing a month ago and got me excited enough to think about it again. For those of you who have cruised on the Magic, tell me I made a good choice?

You made the right choice!

I for one, ever since the rumours were flying around thought what a great way to "See the World"!

I have never been the type that could sit on a beach day after day in one place! This is a great opportunity to see many places and for a great price to boot! Plus it's gonna be like a "Family Renunion" where we all get to meet each other!

Convinced yet?LOL
