Lisa....the deposits for the 14 day were more than for the 7 day. I trans-ferred our reservations from the 7 day, and had to pay an additional ....$200 I think.

The other day someone was giving me recommendations re the dolphin encounter/swims.....Aculpulco vs. Curaceo. I can't for the life or me remember which one they recommended......please clue this airhead in again.....Thanks!!!

Lastly, how many people on this thread are also going on the 8/19/06 Magic?? ~Jennifer

We will be on the 8/19/06 Magic!

I have one question for those of you who have been to CC recently, if I bring my own mask and snorkle (rented snorkels, ewwwww), will I be required to rent a PFD (vest) or can I just hop on in with out it? If I decide to go to the "Snorkling Lagoon", will they be on the lookout for non vest wearers? I honestly see that the vest is a good thing, and I don't mind wearing one, but just curious. And as I don't dive under, I really don't want to get fins.

When we were at CC last April, they had snorkeling vests hanging on a peg on the lifeguard chair, free for the asking. I don't think they allow anyone to snorkel without a vest. I saw several people get "warned" by the lifeguards.

SOUNDS LIKE ITS GONNA BE A REPO & HURRICANE FRANCIS REUNION CRUISE!!!

Word of caution, when you've got one of the worst rains storms to hit the area remember to roll up your car window.

I went leave this morning and noticed the car window was all the way open, with my digital camera sitting on the floor right underneath the window. Good thing Lindsay sits in the back, or she would have been pretty soggy on the way to school this morning. Now all I have to do is figure out a way to dry out the car without it smelling. How do you dry out a car when it's supposed to rain for the next 3 days?

Been there, done that!! We were actually parked at the Port for our 3 day Wonder cruise and I left the driver's side window down. Well 3 days of rain and there was a puddle well over an inch deep on the floor of both the front and back seats...plus of course the seats were soaked!!! Had to return the car that night....drove into Cocoa BEach and stopped at the first cheapo surf shop and bought some cheapo towels and mopped up....the car actually dried by the evening!!! But of course the sun was hot as blazes so it helped!!

Good luck!!!

My trunk flooded last summer and I couldn't leave it open to dry out long enough, so I put baking soda into a flat container that had a lid. I would only put the lid on when I was driving so the baking soda wouldn't spill all over. I also threw some bounce sheets around in the trunk. The smell was gone in two days.

We always bring our own snorkel equipment too (got a good deal on some at costco and over 4 cruises they pay for themselves, not to mention not having to deal with the ick factor of sticking something in my mouth that has been in lord knows how many other mouths) and they do give the vests away. They also require that you use them. I have my own natural personal flotation devices and the vest seems kind of redundant, but the lifeguards weren't buying that argument. :earseek: You don't have to blow it up, though, just wear it. If I had to blow it up I'm not sure I could even get my face into the water.

And yes, GREAT news. I'm soooo happy. Now all I need is for my cat 11 to come available so I can come up out of the dungeon and into the "cheap seats" (hehe, kind of like the bleachers I guess). I'm furiously researching flights and trying to figure out if we want to do the grand californian or just stay at the embassy suites with free breakfast for 1/3 the price. The $700 difference can buy a lot of "stuff" on board the ship. Decisions, decisions.

Weather: I would love to be in FLA right now. The weather here sucks! We don't get 4 seasons, we get 2, winter and summer. DH and I call Labor day the 1st holiday of winter and memorial day the last holiday of winter. But, you can't even count on the 4th of July to be warm. We have been freezing on that day. Easter is winter coats, Halloween is winter coats. You can't teel what month it is by looking outside. It is ALWAYS cloudy. We get every storm in some fashion that is in the country. What is spring anyway? And summer only lasts 2 months. July and August. QUOTE]

I can remember a few years ago being in MK behind a Father and Son in line for ice creams. It was May and I think they were from Wisconsin (!?) and they told me that the grass at MK was the first they'd seen in 7 months! They had just had snow, frost you name it. We can't imagine anything like that. England has had a couple of inches of snow last 2 days and the whole country ground to a halt - just couldn't cope.

Did someone mention another set of twins on this cruise??? :rotfl:

Twins, PFDs, any one else? Mark, I am sure you can help us out, with the NAMES.

I wrote this one myself....inspired while driving to work and almost hitting a rafter of turkeys....

Why did the turkeys cross the road?

We generally take our own snorkeling equipment too. At Castaway Cay on our last cruise we only snorkled at Serenity Bay. (BTW, I did find the "shipwreck!") I believe that Disney does require a snorkeling vest at the lagoon for both children and adults. But, I believe they will allow guests with their own equipment to use one free of charge.

Hello All you folks who can post freely during the day because you have cushy jobs... ;) It's a busy day so I put my cell phone on vibe today - wow! Somebody call me!

I took Victoria for a checkup today and inquired about HEP A vaccination. Initially the office told me 'not to worry about it' but gave me the health dept.'s number just in case.

When I called the health department, they emphatically stated we ought to receive the HEP A vaccine 2 - 4 weeks prior to traveling.

I am calling the pediatrician on June 1st to ensure they have the vaccine and arranging an appt. for the shot the next month.

I know this has been discussed before, but wanted to share my experience today.

I'm so sorry to read about wet cars, winter blues, and reservation woes. I'm not sure if I'll be in chat early this evening, but I hope tonight's chat topic evokes WARM, DRY Fuzzies! :goodvibes

Have a fabulous day!

Since HepA is a required vaccination for kids these days our DD (14yo) is covered.

Still trying to figure out if DH and I should bother with HepA shots or not. It's too late for me and my 7 day Western I'm doing on carnival this weekend  So assuming I survive that cruise then I'll see if I need HepA for the repo cruise.

Not so much that I have a "cushy job", it's more that these are my "sanity breaks". I go to "ship of fools" thread on my "sanity break". :rotfl2: Not sure that's such a good idea..... :confused3 :rotfl2:

Hi Pam....we just had 8 inches of snow fall Sunday into Monday this week.

Check out this link from a blizzard we had a few years ago...I use our table on our back deck to measure.....the ruler was buried!!!

NY weather in winter pretty much guarantees at least one big snowstorm but most of the times...many!!!

Ewwww, I don't want a shot. Guess I better check into it though. DARN!

We snorkel on Serenity Bay and have never used a vest. We use our own gear. AND we have seen the wreckage too. Not much fish action at Serenity Bay except the stingray.
