Just curious... when did the dismeet move from HoJos to GCH? Or are they two different meets?

I think it happened when they saw the photo of the pool on the "other" site ;)

Cheers,
Grumbo

I think there's three meets in total (I forgot about HoJo's). Correct me someone if I'm wrong. Do we have 8/19 dismeets at:

HoJo's (Anaheim)
GCH (Anaheim/DLR)
HISP (San Pedro)

Wherever the Anaheim meet is (or meets are) I'll drop off pins/medallions for distribution.

Two different meets.

Invaderzim, you might want to check the other site as there is a separate thread for each hotel having a meet.

In fact, Luv2Dream is keeping a list for those at CG and is organizing that meet, I believe.

Yes, that's the one. I'm hoping to actually be there when they open since I want to have time to enjoy the port for a little while.

Okay -- here's the info: I just spoke to Primetime Shuttle. They can provide private vans for us at the following rates. This is for one-way service from the Budget Rental car office to the San Pedro pier.

7-passenger van -- $66.00
9-passenger van -- $80.00

She said we can rent as many vans as we want in whatever combination of passenger total. This fee DOES NOT include the 15% gratuity. However, if there are 2 or 3 of you doing this, it might actually be cheaper to get a taxi then to pay a per person fee. :teacher:

Input welcome.... :badpc:

Someone mentioned a while back that Roy O. Disney would be on our sailing. Isn't Roy O. Disney dead? If someone meant Roy E. Disney I can't imagine Disney paying for him to go on the cruise since he has been such a troublemaker for them. Anyone have info? Not sure why I'm asking...

I didn't realize there was a separate meet at the GC either!

It's still in the early stages of development. We won't hold it against you. (For long.) ;)

Personally I found him very entertaining at the Save Disney event last year. And since Micheal is on the way out. . . maybe some fence mending with the family is in order.

Or maybe I am an Idiot dreamer. :confused3

Mel, which meets are you going to? I'm going to the other one! ;)

There are two camps to this debate. Camp one contends that Roy E. Disney will be on the cruise. Somehow, in some way, someone provided this information to them. (I hear tell it was a CM (or multiple CMs) at DCL reservations.)

Camp two (pretty much just me) contends that this is not the case. In fact, I plan on winning (or loosing) a dollar to Lou over this very issue.

Whichever camp you subscribe to, it is just a rumor until someone comes out and formally announces it.

I would like to meet him. Personally, I disagree with the whole "Save Disney" campaign as Disney put it together but it would still be awesome to say you've met a Disney.

I'm not too sure if fence mending would apply, though. Roy is no longer part of the company and I don't really know if he wants to be again. Perhaps someting of this was mentioned at the event you attended, Eye R.N.?

Ok, i took a look at the Alamo ressies that i had and i didn't realize it was a dropped off at Long Beach airport. does anyone know how far is LBA to the port?? Wonder if there is a shuttle from LBA to port??

Perhaps i will stick with Budget instead.

I know that DCL is ONLY providing a shuttle to/from LAX. We called to ask if they'd shuttle us to GC from LBA, but it was a no go. We may just have to hitch hike.

That is just downright hurtful!!!
Its OK Melinda. You're more than welcome at the HoJo's DisMeet!! Sheesh.

Cheers,
Grumbo

I think rather than worry about vans and the like I'm just going to do the cab thing. That way if I'm early, late or still working on eastern time I'm not inconveniencing anyone else, nor am I sitting there if someone else doesn't make it on time. Much less stressful for me.

Cheers,
Grumbo

Lets just say that I can't imagine the Disney COMPANY paying for his room and board on this trip. I think whoever is in that suite is either a paying customer or someone who will entertain or an executive as a perk. If Disney paid for Roy E. Disney to sail they'd surely expect him to lecture and I can't imagine them paying for him to lecture as he isn't a supporter of the current administration. I doubt he is paying for his trip-- not that he doesn't have the money of course, but just I don't think that's how it is done! I'm betting he won't be on the voyage. I could swear someone posted that it was Roy O. Disney though!

Oh, Grahame! I think you're a bit confused again. You're staying at the Hoilday Inn! :)

Melinda, Grumbo meant to extend his warm invitation to you to join him at the Holiday Inn! He's just forgetful sometimes. Like Amanda, so I hear.

Aren't Roy & his wife the godparents of the Magic? or is it the Wonder? I thought the godparents got to sail on "their" ship whenever they wanted ... so if they are godparents to the Magic, I don't think the Disney company can say "nope, you can't go."
