Arlene, Where have you been?? We went over this a few pages ago!! I thought Martin had cleared this with you already!

Anybody have a user friendly video camera that they recommend? We have a Sony and do like it, but it's about 3 years old so I'm out of the loop on new models. We are considering getting one for my parents with my siblings for Christmas. Perhaps others are thinking of a new one for the Repo cruise.

TIA!

So, what did you do to make it accessible?

I'll be the first to admit that other then copy and paste, my computer skills are rather limited (as he pecks the keys 1 finger at a time), but Sandy, yes SANDY, showed me what to do!!

I first right clicked on photo and then clicked on "save as". I went to imagestation (sandy opened an account and it's free, bless her heart, and went to upload image.) After image was uploaded from my computer, I right click on image and click on properties, I highlight properties and then hit copy ( I don't need Sandy from here on) I go to my post and hit the "IMG" button and then paste the addreess and hit OK. Voilà, no more red X's.

Tomorrow I'm learning to how to make the bed and do the dishes!!...Mark

Thanks Mark and thanks to Sandra too! Dh is the computer guru in our family...I learn a lot from him too...we're lucky to have them! :) I'm going to try some photos in the near future, so thanks!

Have fun in MGM. Last year I finally went on Tower Of Terror. Sandy bought the photo and posted it on imagestation. Now since I know how to copy and paste from there to my post I was able to put a photo of me on this thread.

Talking to parents tonight about the cruise. We might want to fly in the night before (just to make sure there are NO flight delays). We would be interested in staying at the Holiday Inn near the port. I need the TA and info. on how to book a couple of rooms. What was the price you guys were quoted? Is the hotel providing shuttle service to the ship?

We are still deciding which airport to fly into? SNA, LAX or LBG?

I believe we have decided no DL or WDW before and after the cruise. A 2 week vacation will suite us fine. We will come home Saturday and recoup before school and work after the Labor Day Weekend.

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Talk to Janis...I'll PM over the phone number. She quoted us $89 for the night before, it includes breakfast. Transfers from the hotel to the port were $3 per person, transfers from LAX to the hotel were $18/person, transfers from SNA were $28/person last time I spoke with her in early October. I ended up cancelling my ressies because I booked a nonstop flight early on the morning of the cruise. Guess I'll be living dangerously!

I asked the Disney folks which airport the Disney transportation will be leaving from and they said LAX only.

I only said I'd post a photo!! I will tell you that our group on the ride was 18 people and the 6 kids were all cousins.

Could you also PM me Janis's phone number? We already booked a room with her, but I want to sign up for transfers from the airport to the hotel and the hotel to the port. Thanks.

I just bought our one way tickets from Philly to LAX using Continental. It was only $458 for the four of us. Not bad eh?? I haven't done the return leg yet.

That is a good price for your flight.
It is the taxes here that kill you when you book a flight. I saw the taxes weren't nearly as bad when I booked from Orlando to Toronto.
We have our flights booked both ways at great prices but the taxes just about equal the flight cost
Wish we were going on a cruise now. Winter has just started and I could use a cruise right about now.
Oh well the planning and anticipation is a huge part of the trip for me anyway.

Cheers,
Grumbo

Anyone interested in a great way to do sweet potatoes? You need a 8x8 inch baking dish. One can sweet potatoes. Sprinkle with a heavy coat of brown sugar. Then a coat of mini marshmellows. Place in oven on broil. Close the oven. Thereby insuring that you can not see the dish. This is very important. Start talking to your sisters or anyone nearby. About 6 minutes later suddenly remember the potatoes. Open oven ignoring the huge cloud of marshmellow scented smoke. Remove the now black potatoes. Carefully peel off the blackened marshmellows. Do not allow your mother to eat them. Place a new coating of marshmellows on the potatoes. Replace in the oven. This time leave the door open and do not talk to anyone. When the marshmellows are nicely brown remove and serve immediately. You get double the marshmellows and the potatoes are really tasty.
Be advised that any longer than 6 minutes may result in a fire in your
oven. Also your father will not apprieciate the smoke and smell. Just ask Phil. Some detectors going off on Thanksgiving just before you sit down to dinner is just not right.
The above will long be remembered around here. Especially by me... I wanted those marshmellows. They were just the way I like them and they threw them out.:mad:

Somehow I already knew this, LOL! OK, stay incognito mark & sandra...The Sisterhood will find you guys on the cruise! After all, we need to toast the trip through the Panama Canal with the Ship of Fools, right?! AuntyBrat, you have a new task!

BTW, we have a photo of our family at the AP opening of the Tower of Terror at DCA. All I can say is I did it to not be a wimp mom...it was quite a ride!

Oh no Estelle!!!!!!! Yes, you need to watch those marshmellows very carefully! We were the "bringers" of sweet potatoes to our family meal. My MIL passed down a killer of a tasty recipe for sweet potatoes and marshmellows. It is a hit at all our family holiday gatherings. PM me if anyone wants a copy.
