line tag looks good..that is a lot of days...that's why I did mine in years and months....I'm surprised we don't get more people on our thread, since we've heard all the cat 4 are sold out....

Lurkers....lots of lurkers....that's what I was until this thread!

Are you warming up yet?

How about we get to know each other better and start with
A question for the week
What has made you book this cruise
I'll start

The last time the Magic was over here I was really mad with myself for not going on it but we were after buying into DVC so hadn't the money but I said if she ever came over again I was on it
Was going to do the Northern European but then change to the Med as the dates worked better for us
and the weather should be warmer
we have only cruised before at the end of Oct and it has been windly

I've never been overseas. Growing up, my parents repeatedly promised me that we'd do so....someday...but one thing or another always came up.

My DH and I had been talking about going this summer on a Med cruise, either Royal Caribbean or Celebrity, but last year's move was unpaid....ouch! So, when I saw the new itinerary for 2010, when we'd decided we were going anyway, I informed DH that we were going to just do it!

The dates worked with the Washington school year. It's going to be a bit of a shock to go from low 70's to high 80's, but I can't wait!!! :beach:

Both DH and I are history buffs (he has a degree in such topic) and he's excited about Ajaccio (Napoleon's birthplace) and the Vatican. I can't decide what I'm more excited about!! We got a Rick Steves' DVD on Italy and made DD (currently 5) watch it. Her comment was that some of the ceilings looked like the princess castle at WDW!!! :rotfl2:

And above all else....it's Disney!!!!

Well, we were on the Magic in November and my DH and kids loved it, so we knew we'd book again. The issue is that we aren't big beach people and really didn't really want to do the same beach locations again. We have 7 year old twins and my son is really interested in history and geography in particular Italy. We saw the med cruise and the timing (school wise was perfect). We did an RCL cruise for our honeymoon and Europe (it was a repositioning cruise). We got tot see so many different places. It gave us a feel for where we'd like to go again and spend some time and there were other places that we saw enough of.

Queens New York Checking in:cool1: ....... snowed in,cold and tired of shoveling :sad2:

There are a couple of reasons.
The first is that my sister had booked to go the last time( almost first time we traveled without each other:sad2: )
, and I could not go then because I had already made plans to go to Puerto Rico for a family vacation to visit my parents and to take my in laws who had never been there. My mother in law had asked that I take her for years so I promised to take them during that time. AS it turns out my sister ended up finding out she had a brain tumor and could not travel so that trip was canceled.
So reason one is that she is better and can travel, and now I can go.

the other reason is that I also never traveled abroad. The first time I left the country was in 2002, and that was to meet my husband family in India.
Eruope has always fascinated me and my boys love to learn about differnt places and by the trip they will be 10 & 8, so they will be able to appreciate the sights.

And I cannot imagine how great the experience of traveling abroad and doing it with Mickey will be.:earsboy:

Just giving a shout out to everyone. Hope all is well with everyone. NY has continued to be in a deep freeze.:sad2:

Hi Clara!
I woke up this am to snow! Just a dusting, but I keep getting told it's not supposed to be like this here. Ug! Hope you thaw out soon! I keep thinking that it's only 2 months until I'll be in CA!! It won't be warm (probably 60's, maybe 70's if I'm lucky), but that is still at least 20-30 degrees warmer than here! :beach:

Any thoughts as to this weeks question?

I agree. I don't remember a winter being so cold, I mean the highs are usually in the 20's. 60's or 70's sounds just great. My sister went to visit my parents in puerto Rico and its 82  .

Maybe a question could be a more detailed description of those who will be on the cruise with us, Husbands, sons likes, dislikes what they are looking forward to etc.

And it looks like you're only going to get another wallop of snow later this week...

Jackie...the weekly question was your idea, does more detail this week work for you?

Just because it was my idea doesn't mean you all cannot think of Questios too
QOTW

What plans have you before and after the cruise
We are hoping maybe to spend a few days in Barclaona first as I've never been there
can't book the flights untill this time next year , hoping for some good deals
but we will be heading straight home after the cruise becauce DS will be starting his new school I think it is 1st Sept

This years plans are starting to fall in to place
got a really good deal on flights and was able to get the Beach Club villas at the 7 month window yesterday
and we have our AP's from last year so no need to worry about tickets
put a depoist down on a 4 day cruise too but not to sure if we will do that or not yet , trying to keep the cost down or the big one next year

so not a question of the week but whats your plans for this year ?
