Did you go on the older ships?

You know I can't remember. We were on two different ships but sis worked for them for 5yrs and was on about 5 or 6 different ships so I keep getting them (the ones we sailed on w/ her and the ones I just sent mail to!) mixed up.

I'll ask her...she may remember. They probably were the older ships, I think one was the Sensation but I could be wrong.

Sis was actually on the crew that installed the IT gear (she was an IT officer) on the Conquest when they were still at the shipyard in Italy and then sailed back to Florida w/ her from Europe. She also was on the crew of the ship they housed all the Katrina rescuers in New Orleans.

I should add that I would cruise Celebrity again in a heartbeat. Everything was amazing....but that was when we got married so the kid factor wasn't on my radar.

Anyone know of any codes for ebags? I think I want to get one more set of packing cubes!!

Haven't seen any good deals lately. I think I have enough though and will now focus on filling the cubes! :goodvibes

I just started swimming laps every morning too. I went online and found out that I am burning as many calories as I was when I was running. It's just too hot out for me to run so I had to change it up, I'll go back to running in the fall.

It has been hot to be out running. Yesterday's run was good partly because DH and I got up early so that it was still cool. We are going to have to keep on doing that while we train for our first marathon.

I've done Locks of Love 3 times now and you really don't need too much length. The most I've donated at one time is 13 inches, but the least was around 10 inches. But it grows back so why not, it will keep her cooler on the cruise!

Emily has donated to Locks of Love 2 times already. Her hair is super long and she plans on taking off about 12 inches this time. I know that I should just give in, and probably will, but it is hard because I love hear hair how it is right now. In the end, she will probably get it cut, it will probably look adorable and all will be fine. It is just a mom thing!

I know how that "mom thing" is, my mom thing right now is Amber not wanting to do cheerleading for HS. She has been a cheerleader since she was 6 years old and wanted to do it every year even last year. When I asked her if she was going to try out for the freshman squad she said she doesn't want to do cheerleading anymore. :confused3 I guess you can't figure teenagers out. I just hope she doesn't regret it because it will be the first year she hasn't cheered and it's not like you can say now I want to do it after try outs have ended.

Bethany and I made our trek to Michael's crafts to pick up our FE supplies (yes we hadn't started them yet! :scared1:). Got some nice stuff and 1/3 of the crafty portion is completed already! :yay:

I just went to Michael's to get our FE supplies too! For so long the cruise is so far away, and now it's coming so fast! We also need to decide if we want to carry our gifts on the plane/ship or send them to the ship. Carrying them on would probably be easier, but hopefully they're not too bulky.:confused3

I wouldn't say Celebrity is very good for kids at all. I went on the Solstice when I was 17, so not really a kid, but we were on the Christmas cruise, and there were only about 150 kids on the whole ship. During Christmas week!

I've been on Disney, RCCL, Celebrity, and Costa, and I would have to say that's the order I liked them in. Disney was the best; Costa was the worst. RCCL is a lot of fun too though.:thumbsup2

IS ANYONE INTERESTED.....

DS just tried on several of his tropical button up shirts. Most are way too small. :confused3 I am willing to mail them to another boy who may bet use out of them if someone is interested. Here is a quick description and if someone is interested, I can send photos.....

1. Disney Store (size L): Light blue background. Classical characters doing beach type things repeated on shirt (Mickey and Donald with surf boards, Minnie doing the hula and Goofy playing a little guitar).

2. Disney World Kids (size XL but is the same size as the Disney Store L): Bright yellow background. Bottom of the shirt is a beach sunset with Mickey in a beach chair and Pluto looking out to the ocean on the front. On the back is Goofy and Donald in a boat in the water.

3. I have 3 generic tropical shirts that are about the same size as the above shirts. Just thought I would include them because if I am sending a package with the Disney ones, I thought the other ones might come in handy as well. One is yellow, one is blue and one is red.

DS has worn all these shirts to Disney before and has loved them all. We were all sad that they no longer fit him.

If someone who has a boy wearing a size 10-12 wants them...just let me know and I can send them off. :goodvibes

To anyone not on the FE list and would like to join please PM me and I willl work it out I figure we only need a total of 5 (one a day to make it work).:cool1:

I'm so excited for the cruise. I wish I had gotten in on this fish exchange thing earlier!

A 3rd group is working on getting formed! If you send a PM to "linkandclover", I am pretty sure you can get in on it!!! :goodvibes

If this had a like button, I would like it. So nice of you :)

Wow, you guys have been busy!

The party is over, it went well. A bunch of now shows of course, which pisses me off, but otherwise it was good. Everyone loved the taco bar! People were raving! Of course we overbought on quite a few things, not knowing how many were coming. I have had tacos for 3 meals in a row LOL.

Whoever asked, I LOVE my Ipad!!! Not sure I can say it's a necessity, but I love it. I surf the web, play games, watch movies, etc etc.

As far as kids eating something new if they get hungry enough, no way! People always say that, but it never works for kids I know. Especially in a new place.

We booked the Fantasy when we sailed last October over Halloween on the Magic, 7 day western. We decided on 2 adjoining cat 4As instead of a cat T. Our last 4 sailings were all Concierge, wanted to try something different this time.

Funny thing is 4 of us booked in 2 Cat 4As back in 10/2010 was $7,600. If you try to book one Cat 4A for the same August 25, 2012 Eastern sailing it is $7,600 so I guess if you book earlier you can sometimes get what amounts to a BOGO! :rotfl2:

When are you going on the Fantasy??
We are debating if we want to go in the Cat 4A we have booked or switch to concierges. Thinking we might switch to an Aug. cruise too!!

Sorry, thought I was clear on the date. :goodvibes We are sailing 08/25/12

I think I want an ipad also, but I have a question for all you ipad owners.
I have an iphone and a Macbook, DH and DD's think it would be silly to get an ipad, are they right? I think I really want one though, it also serves as a kindle also, correct? Please let me hear your opinions, thanks

In our house we have: a new MacBook (work), MacBook Pro, so many iPods that I wouldn't even begin to count them, an old MacBook and an iMac.

I have 2 iPads (work) and DD has her iPad.

Can you tell we are a Mac family? :rotfl: Seriously, I LOVE taking my iPad places and not lugging around my MacBook. We we go on the cruise, I will be packing my MacBook (for downloading photos and video), my iPad (for using on the plane and reading books), my iPod (for music when we run) and several cameras and video cameras.

I might not be the one to ask! :lmao:

I wish....but no. I guess I am just too cheap. We have cell phones but they are all no contract type ones with Virgin Mobile. I always have some device with me though and with my mobile wi-fi, I am almost always connected. Working in technology means that I am rarely offline!

Well, the Poly is no longer a secret to the children. DH and I were outside - it was hot and humid like FL, we were having drinks while listening to the soundtrack of the Poly and DH says...let's just tell them. So, we called the children outside and broke the news. Needless to say, we had lots of laughter, smiles and happy talk as we discussed our WDW plans.

I LOVE what the effects of alcohol can do :lmao:
I'm glad you told them, at least they can enjoy the anticipation also

So true! :lmao: The margaritas are so good when it is hot and humid and we are sitting out grilling! :lmao:

That was part of it...we started doing some packing today and now that the kids know, they can take part of the excitement of knowing we will be at WDW!

It is a happy night in our house! The kids LOVE the Poly :lovestruc and we all love WDW! :lovestruc

My DD wants to get her haircut before the cruise....but I don't want to let her. It is so long and beautiful that I wish she would wait until after the cruise. The hard part is she wants to cut enough to donate to Locks of Love. While I love that she does that, she has to cut off a lot of hair to get a good donation. We will see.

Jen, Check out the Pantene website, my daughter donates her hair to Pantene, they don't require as much length

It's called Pantene Beautiful Lengths. The minimum donation is eight inches. It goes to women with cancer instead of children.
