Hey all-- I have a rental car/port drop off question for all you veterans:

We have 6 adults, and I'm trying to figure out if we can rent 1 minivan or if we should get 2 sedans. We're most likely renting from Avis.

Do you think it will be more difficult dropping off passengers and returning 2 vehicles vs 1? I don't know how crazy the port arrival area is--we took DCL transfers before. We have 3 different arrival times (11, 12, 12:30) and will be driving up from Vero. (Having never made that drive before and not knowing traffic, I'm anticipating we would leave Vero between 8:30-9AM.)

Looking for advice/opinions!

I finally got around to ordering magnetic paper to print out my door magnets. Had some other stuff to order off amazon -- gotta love free shipping and shopping from home!

Question for those of you who have iPads? How much do you like having them? What kinds of things are you using them for? My birthday is Tuesday -- and, I think I might be asking for one. Otherwise, I'll be putting it off for a bit longer. And, if you like it-- what kind of memory do you have and do you think it's the right amount. I've only briefly looked at them so far.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

I'm on DH's iPad right now. We love it. We usually take it with us everywhere. I have really used it a lot since the accident. It is just so much easier for me to work on.

Hi Guys thank you so much for thinking about us, it is really appreciated. Right my MIL has been discharged again from the hospital as there is no more they can do at present as it is a case of waiting for her immune and digestive system to get back on track after such a major op. SO all we can do is wait and pray. Its hard seeing her so poorly, but we have faith that she will improve and get stronger.

:flower3:

Always keeping your mil in my thoughts and prayers. I hope she will be on her road to recovery soon. :grouphug:

Got our documents over the weekend. Always exciting when they come in the mail since that means we are only a mere weeks away...

Cant believe its been 18 months since we booked this cruise!

:banana::cool1:

I've done Locks of Love 3 times now and you really don't need too much length. The most I've donated at one time is 13 inches, but the least was around 10 inches. But it grows back so why not, it will keep her cooler on the cruise!

I had to cut my hair after the accident and was able to donate it to Locks of Love. I was told it had to be 10 inches min which isn't too bad. It will grow back and I think it's a great cause. :goodvibes

Wow, you guys have been busy!

The party is over, it went well. A bunch of now shows of course, which pisses me off, but otherwise it was good. Everyone loved the taco bar! People were raving! Of course we overbought on quite a few things, not knowing how many were coming. I have had tacos for 3 meals in a row LOL.

Whoever asked, I LOVE my Ipad!!! Not sure I can say it's a necessity, but I love it. I surf the web, play games, watch movies, etc etc.

As far as kids eating something new if they get hungry enough, no way! People always say that, but it never works for kids I know. Especially in a new place.

Glad to hear the party was a success! I have to say that one of my pet peeves is no shows and people who just don't RSVP at all. As a former event planner I just can't get passed that. :upsidedow

Laura - Hope they arrive soon! You are so close to your departure date...how fun!
We are "used" to leave Italy  WITHOUT documents !! :confused3 Most of the time we find our cruise docs ... :rotfl2: waiting for us in the mail box ............. when we return from our vacation !! (Joys :upsidedow of living so far away !!!)

Well, the Poly is no longer a secret to the children. DH and I were outside - it was hot and humid like FL, we were having drinks while listening to the soundtrack of the Poly and DH says...let's just tell them. So, we called the children outside and broke the news. Needless to say, we had lots of laughter, smiles and happy talk as we discussed our WDW plans.

:dance3::cheer2::woohoo: It will be nice to be able to dream with them - making plans - and to start the :rotfl2: PACKING LIST together , now that Emily and Ben KNOW where you are heading after the cruise !!!! TWICE the fun !!!!:woohoo:

They did pretty good. I think Keira is going to stick with it.
:goodvibes WOW !!!!

HAPPY WEEK everyone !!!

No more work for me until September 5th !!!! ... unless headteacher decides she ABSOLUTELY needs me for some ... :headache: unpredictable problem !!!

:dance3: All these days in front of me ... Can't believe it !!!:dance3:

Actually I seem to be :confused3 even busier :laundy: :stir::music: than during working days ... :rotfl:

Can you fit everyone and your luggage in a minivan? I know when we've had 6 people, with luggage (granted for a 7nt cruise) we barely fit in the regular size vans with the extended luggage storage that you can rent from FL Tours or Happy Limo.

Dropping 1 car is easier than dropping 2, but you can often rent the smaller cars for cheaper than 1 larger car or minivan.

I really don't think you will be able to fit 6 adults and luggage in a mini van. When using all 3 rows of seats, that doesn't leave much room for luggage.
While dropping and returning two cars may not be as easy as one, I don't think it will really be too much of a hassle.

:welcome: Welcome Michele! :welcome: We are excited to get to know you and your family.

Welcome Michele - where in CT are you from?? I am in Somers by Enfield

My name is Helen and I love holiday shopping :lmao:

I was laughing to myself when I was out yesterday with my friend in the sales - I bought 2 pairs of shorts (as if I didn't have enough already) 5 vest tops, ( a swimsuit , a bikini, bag and matching cover up), 2 dresses, 3 evening tops. It was when I picked up the matching cover up I thought of you guys getting your covers delivered. :goodvibes

I finally caved to the shopping virus going around here. Jumped on Land's End website and took advantage of their 30% off swim stuff sale. Picked up two full suits (tops and bottoms separate) for $100. Not too bad seeing as LE stuff lasts forever and I'm going to be swimming more laps at the YMCA so I'll need them! :thumbsup2

So we've gone to the Y's pool the last two Sunday's and I swam laps both times (haven't done that since 1982!). Last week I did six laps (mixture of backstroke and breaststroke) and this week I double it to 12! :yay: Not too bad for someone who doesn't exercise much!

Dd taught me how to make one of our kid FE gifts last night so we will BOTH be working on them for the next few weeks!

Yay! I can't wait. Only 33 more days until we leave!

Woe is me. My cruise documents haven't arrived yet so I am trying to wait patiently for them. In the interim I have joined the packing cubes frenzy and purchased them in four different colors. I can already foresee two little girls arguing over who gets to use the raspberry color. Maybe I'll assign that color to myself to avoid any twin tiffs over the issue!
