but I decided on Aug 6th to be sure it didn't interfere with going back to school orientations and such. My DD will be entered high school that September...

Are you doing Disneyland before or after? We are going to do a few days before at DL. We have to fly across country for this one from CT. Going out we gain 3 hours, but coming home we get home late.

If DS has his way we will but I don't think I could talk DH into it. We don't go back to school until the Wed after Labor Day. We were considering the 8/20 repositioning cruise but we didn't want to leave the pets in the kennel that long.

We are cruising with myself, DH, DS who will be 13, MIL, Mother, nieces 12 and 14.

MIL and nieces live in CA so we are the only ones who have to travel to get there.

myself, DH, DSs 4 & 2 (will be 6 & 3 at time of sailing). looking forward to it! but it's such a LONG time from now!

They are from Arroyo Grande - just outside San Luis Obispo. I really hope we have more people going than just us 2 . DS had such a good time last year because he hooked up with someone his age from the boards.

rsjj - this will be our 3rd Disney cruise.

well, if no one else is going, we'll have the ship all to ourselves!!!! ha ha.

we just can't wait...it's only been almost 2 months since our very first cruise, and we LOVED it! i'm sure everyone else did too!

Our first was Aug. 2001 Eastern. I had to practically drag DH onboard. He enjoyed it so I booked again for Aug. 2003 Western. He enjoyed this even more because DS was old enough to sign himself out of the Lab and had a friend to roam the ship with. This one was HIS idea.

We really wanted to do the 14 day repositioning from CA to FL but it was just too long to be away. I couldn't see putting the dog and 2 cats in the kennel that long - not to mention the cost.

Hopefully we can go alot more now - we just put an offer in for a resale on the DVC. I really hope it goes through. Maybe we can use some of the points to stay at DL a day or 2 before the cruise.

if you don't mind me asking...and it may be a dumb question...but here it goes...

how does DVC work? been reading here on the disboards about it, and not quite sure how that works. and tried to get info on it, through disney website, but apparently, it's not available in our state? only certain states are allowed? get points, trade points, earn free vacations? fill me in! thank you in advance!

did you enjoy the western carribean? that's the one we went on. it was so much fun! our DSs loved it! so did we! it's so funny, before we went on our first cruise, i've already told my DH that we're rebooking on board, to take advantage of the discounts, (wonder tips i learned through this board!) and now that we have our second cruise booked, again, i told him we're rebooking! he thinks i'm going crazy over this!

We liked the Western better than the Eastern. I still couldn't talk my DH into booking onboard - he thought it was too far away to think of another one since we usually do every 2 years.

I'll pm you about the Disney Vacation Club. I'm still learning about it myself but I'm very excited.

I'm here!!! Rsjj found me on the regular forum, (thank you for the redirection!)...Glad to see you've got this thread going already. I have hopes of finding pals for the kids ahead of time I have 2 they will be a 15ds and a 9dd by the time of the cruise. First time cruising for all of us, so any help will be sooo greatly appreciated!

Our cabin is cat 6 on the 6th floor room 6114. From what i've been learning here so far, i'm glad it's near the aft and that we are facing forward directionally (the bed that is) and we seem to be not too far away from the kids club.

Where will you all be?? Nice to meet up with you both!

One more thing...how do you do the counters? is there a link with directions somewhere

So glad someone else is going. I was afraid we would have the whole ship to ourselves.

I SO wish we had a Cat 6 again but economics wouldn't allow it. We are Cat 9 Deck 2 room 2418 and 2420.

If our DVC purchase goes through we may be staying at DL 1-2 days before.

I'm with you all. Myself,DH,DD, and Son-In-Law will all be in stateroom# 8040. I can't wait I've never been to Ca at all. We are doing Disney Land after the cruise. This will be my 3rd Disney cruise. We will be on our 2nd one this Oct.

I am the same person who sent the above post. But I did not realize that I was on my friends PC. Sorry about all the confusion. Anyway It's nice to meet all of you. Hi gang!

I cant say for sure if we will be going on this cruise but we are currently booked on it. We are also currently booked on the 10/8 cruise which has been cancelled due to dry dock. We have booked this one as a back up in case things dont work out with rescheduling that cruise, but we are still waiting to hear from DCL(after almost 3 weeks, UGH!).
So, if we do sail with you guys it will be myself, DH, and 2 DSs, then 5 & 8. We are thinking about doing a few days at DL before. We have never been to CA so even though we arent thrilled about the idea of having to travel out there, if its our only option, it will be something new and different for us.
