Hi Faith!
Yep, we are going on the Majesty. My parents have done it a few times and my sister and her family did it once with them, last year, but this time we are going too. They all really love it. Ive only been to Bermuda once and that was on my spring break in high school so needless to say, I dont remember much. But I do remember it ws a beautiful island and everyone was very friendly.
Im glad you liked the ship. Its always good to hear reviews, especially good ones. The funny thing is my mother keeps telling me what you just said..."remember its not Disney", LOL! We did take a tour of it a couple years ago and I thought it looked fine. Im really looking forward to it. Ill be sure to post with any updates when I get back.
Oh, and Im in Woburn. Are you nearby?

Hi CamColt, I will look forward to hearing all about your trip. I hope you have a great trip:hyper:

Hey, did have you decided if you were going on this cruise yet? I hope so.::yes::

We are still not 100% sure as we are still waiting to hear from DCL about the cancelled cruise. I hope so too though.

I really can't believe we don't have more people from the boards on our cruise.

I can't either!!

But, I am getting more excited each day - we are almost down to one year before we sail away!!

Just wanted to give this the a bump for the...
1 YEAR DANCE!!!! :cool1:

Anyone else on board?

Hi every1. I haven't been on since I booked and put myself on this list, but sadly we've had some health issues, (my mom), and we had to put vacation planning on hold. We lost our ressies for this cruise :sad2:

I hope you all have a magical cruise...I'll be thinkin of you all!

Oh Im sorry to hear that! Prayers & Pixie Dust on the way to your Mom!

We just got back September 2, 2004. I just made ressies for next year.

I'm addicted.

Can't wait!!

Welcome to the group Katmat75!

Unfortuantely Im starting to get buyers remorse for this cruise. ;) Ive been looking into a Royal Caribbean cruise and I found out for less money than this DCL I could do a 7 day RC cruise plus 3 days in WDW with a bunch of activities included(see my poll on the CB). Plus all this waiting to hear about the cancelled cruise is really starting to sour me on DCL. Dont get me wrong, I know the ship is great, and I would definitely have a great time on the cruise, but the waiting is taking its toll. Im so confused, but I am leaning toward cancelling right now.

And Faith, the Majesty and Bermuda were wonderful. I think thats part of whats making me look at other cruise lines. I saw I could do something besides DCL and still enjoy it, LOL!

Well hopefully soon I can have a definite answer as to whether or not Ill be with you guys.

Ok, Im back with a whole new attitude.:teeth:
Our situation with the cancelled cruise was finally handled and DCL came through in a huge way. They gave us an offer we couldnt refuse so,its offical...we will be joining you on August 13th.
Ironically I was so sure we wouldnt be, I had pretty much convinced myself I didnt want to go to CA after all. But I think I can get myself psyched up again over the next 10 months.
So, I can offically say "Im in" now. :Pinkbounc

That's great. Now if we can just round up a few more people for our cruise.

I've already starting having my cruise dreams (this is WAYYYY too early). I managed to get some of the air freshener they use on the cruise and DS has been spraying the house daily. I can't wait to smell it on the ship!

we're booked on this cruise, but I am still very undecided. If we go, it will be our 4th August cruising with DCL. When the Western cruises came out, I was busy with a new baby and missed out on any decent prices. By the time I booked, the cost was way up there. So, still thinking. Would sure be nice to get to cruise without flying cross sountry to get there!!!

Hope things work out for you jweiss! I know how you feel. A lot of money spent on vacation can be nerve wracking. You definitely have an advantage of not having to fly. We recently cruised out of Boston and it was so nice to just take a quick ride to the ship.

Are any of you going to Disneyland before the crusie? We are looking at arriving Tuesday and getting adjusted then. Then hitting the parks Wed-Fri. I know nothing about CA or DL so I feel so clueless about all this. I have the Birnbaums 2005 guidebooks for both DCL and DL ordered so Ill have a lot of reading to do. :teeth:

We are arriving on Thursday and staying Thur and Fri at Grand Californian. We have been to DL twice. It's definitely not as nice as WDW but there are some different things to do there. I think the biggest disappointment is the size of the castle. It's tiny!

However, Grizzly River Run is much better than Kali River (except for the spinning at the end of the ride - that always make me nauseous).

I have been to Disneyland numerous times, I don't know that I would use the term "it's definitely not as nice" though. It's definitely much smaller than DW, but it is the original and there are few rides that are much better at DL than at DW - POC, GRR etc etc. I've been to DW only once in 1996 and I loved it!

We are currently booked at the GC Thursday and Friday nights as well. I love this hotel, and it's the only on-site hotel we will stay at. The other two are nice, but GC is just special for us.

I'm off to DL in a few weeks to see it for the first time decorated for Christmas. I work in CA but live in OR so I try to make little side trips as often as I can.

We will be at Paradise Pier. Too bad I wont be at GC wtih you guys.

Its weird. Ive started the research and a lot that I see of DL looks so familiar, only different, LOL! I think its going to be very strange being there after being in WDW so much. But, its definitely a new experience and something that will be fun to try.

I got the Birnbaums DCL 2005 book and Im disappointed in it. Theres only 1 little page that says how the ship is going to the west coast. There no info on those ports, or anything else pertaining to the CA cruises...like transfers, the thing Im really looking for info on right now. I wouldnt recommend it for any CA cruisers. :(
