I just got those books too, you can't find anything on the CA cruises, not even on the DCL website last I looked. Maybe when it gets closer...

I cant wait until those first CA cruisers come back in May. I have a feeling these boards are going to be flying with all the new info. Or at least I hope so. Im glad we arent going out until the end so we will have plenty of time to gather info from return cruisers. ;)

Truthfully - I don't think Disney knows much about those cruises yet. I also can't wait for the first cruisers to return and find out about shows, menus, if there is a new castaway club gift....

I hope they start coming out with some info soon because I'm a planner and like to know what we are doing and when!

LOL, Starwood. Im the same way. Its killing me not having much info on any of this. The good news is I have 2 more trips(but short ones) before this trip so at least I have a little something to keep the planner in me occupied until all the info starts coming out.

Just giving this a bump for the 9 month dance! :jumping1:

Doesnt it seem like just yesterday we hit the 1 year mark? This trip will be here before we know it. :earseek:

Any new cruisers with us?

I really wish we were going sooner. DS is sick and I woke up to snow this morning (not a lot but any is too much:earseek: ).

Oh thats a bummer! Hope DS feels better soon. :D
We got about 5-6 inches of snow yesterday through this morning. This is waaaaay to early for this! That Magic is calling my name!

it's been a while since i've been on board.....

snowing, huh? sounds good, considering we don't get any around here! but maybe not for those who are "submerged" in it?

look, everyone, it'll soon be thanksgiving, then christmas, then easter, and before you know it, it'll be august!!! yay!!!

Well he's back at school but still coughing. I'm just waiting to get a call from the school nurse to come and get him. I hope this isn't an indication of the type of winter we are in for.

I think I'll start looking for a cruise dress and start pushing my mother to get her passport taken care of. I found a really cute pin in a magazine that I'm getting her for Christmas - it's a cruise ship (looks like Carnival) with dangles of sunglasses, camera...etc. We also got her the Birnbaum Disney Cruise book. I wish they covered the Mexican cruise but at least she can learn all about the ship.

At least I have a trip to the world to look forward to the end of April.

You are right, rsjj! Once we get through the winter, it will be August before we know it. I cant wait to get my upcoming trip over with so I can finally add a countdown for this trip.

Sounds like you are getting organized, starwood. Speaking of passports, do you know if you "need" one for this cruise or will a birth certificate and id work, like for the other cruises. Im not sure what the rule is for Mexico. :D

I just bought our airline tickets :cool1: . Continental - Newark to John Wayne for $292.40!

we are almost there, you guys! i can't wait for the first couple west coast sailings...so others can post their info/input/etc, and we can get a better picture of what it would be like...what to expect...etc. just can't wait!!! how many of you are planning on rebooking on board? :flower:

I want to but I need to talk DH into it. I thought there was hope when I found out you could deposit only 1 person and add the others later but then I discovered the others wouldn't get the 10% discount. I guess I'll have to work on him a little. He owes me - he just left this morning for a meeting in Orlando and is planning on meeting his niece at WDW for a day. He doesn't even like it as much as me!

The other aggravating thing is - he asked me how to get our DVC discounts down there. I said you have to show your card. He said "what card". I gave it to him as soon as we got them and now he has no idea where it is. Auggghhhhh!!!!!!

ARGH, MEN! ;) Hope he finds it.

Isnt it nice to finally be doing some things that are making it seem real? Getting those plane tickets is a big step! We recently booked the REAS. I dont see there being much "romance" with the kids there, but prebooking the Spa and Palo will be worth it. :teeth: I just wish we knew what days are formal/semiformal so we can try to book Palo(dont want to miss formal night, hoping to miss the Master Chefs menu if we have that)

Anyone have any ideas what excursions you will be doing yet? Im thinking of doing the Dolphin swim for kids in PV. DH and I will do the "go along" thing while the kids really do it. In Mazatlan we want to have a beach day, but I really cant justify the cost of the beach excursions so I think we will do that on our own. Mazatlan Frank has suggested going to Tonys for food and drinks and using the beach there and thats looking good to us.

yeah, hope he finds it soon!

as for excursions...we're looking at the beach break at pv. would love to do the dolphin thing, but DH doesn't swim (and he's not really fond of water!), and our DSs are a bit too young for it, so he said we should wait till they get a bit older, and we can do it! (we, as in me & the boys, not him!) that means another cruise/trip!!!???!!!! hee hee

i also want to do a horseback riding thing. does anyone know anything about randi's happy horses? that was the one i've been reading/seeing on the boards. sounds interesting. forgot which port she was in.

and now our youngest DS can go to the club, we might be able to drop DSs off, and head out on our own. i know, selfish me! but of course, we'll do family things too! i keep contemplating over the excursions, and trying to figure out what would be suitable for us...so no decisions, as of yet!

we can start booking our excursions 60 days out, right? so that'll give me up till around may to figure something out. so i have 3 more months or so. :flower:

The hard part of excursions is I need to get my DS and 2 nieces to agree on doing the excursions. (plus figure in the 2 grandma factors). I think we do a conference call maybe in May.

Oh boy, you have your work cut out for you,Starwood. I take it you are the planner of the group?

Rsjj, we lucked out as both our DSs will be in the age group for the kids dolphin swim(they are 5 & 8), so they can do that one and do it together. My kids can be intimidated easily so Im hoping since this is specifically for kids, it will be less overwhelming for them.

I cant believe how excited we are getting over this now. Things are starting to fall into place and we are learning a lot. We have switched from Paradise Pier to DL Hotel for our prestay and we hope to get(cross your fingers for me here) Red Sox/Angels tickets for the day we get off the ship. They go on sale Saturday so wish us luck.
