Sari I also have a 5 year old son - looking forward to them meeting at the meet and greet the first day in NYC and maybe they can hang out at the Oceaneer Club....
Welcome everyone! Sari, keep reading on these boards and you will know more than your Brother and SIL in no time! Considering the ages of your boys I would say you really want to be prepared for Pirate night. Most kids really enjoy getting dressed up for it so I suggest packing them each a pirate costumeAlso if you are hoping for your boys to spend some time in the kids club I highly recommend putting in some time right on the first day of the cruise. They have family time and open house type sessions up until the early evening on the day we get on the ship. Take them to those, you have to stay with them but they get comfortable in the space and they meet the councilers and usually a friend or two, it makes them want to go back!
So excited that you have a 5 year old boy. I'm definitely going to need to start to get organized and write down all the info or I'll never remember it or find my way to anything.
My little guy is 5 too! Uh oh, we're rapidly forming a gang here![]()
Mt DS7 will love to meet up with yours! We received our docs yesterday, too. So excited! But first, we are going on the 2-night TODAY! Yippee!I was excited that someone suggested that I check out this Thread. I will be with my DH, DS 10, DS 7, and DD 3. My crew has never cruised before. I will also be with my parents. This will be there third Disney cruise.
I asked to join the FB group and I hope that I get added.
Any tips would be helpful. I have seen that I have to get on the door decorations.
Look forward to seeing you in a month.![]()

We will just have to wait to do the FE until next time. I'm learning so much form this as well as on Facebook. I can't wait. That was me that suggested you come check out our wonderful group
FE stands for Fish Extenders, there are little metal fish just outside your stateroom door that are supposed to be used for crew members to leave little notes (like updates to excursions and such). People here on these boards though make cute little pouch hanger things that hang on their fish (thus the name fish extender or FE) People who are going on a cruise together join up and exchange stateroom info and then when onboard exchange little gifts that are left inside the FE and you find your little surprise when you check your pouch. Unfortunatley since people need to plan ahead for their little gifts a cutoff date has to be set and we have passed that date.so I can't invite you to join.
When you get on with our facebook group you will find it is very active and you will "meet" lots of people you will be cruising with. We are having a very short get together once onboard on the embarkation day at 3:00 in the Promenade Lounge. The muster drill starts organizing at 3:30 so it is a very short get together but long enough to put faces to names. You don't have to tell anyone if you are coming or not, you just drop by![]()
I hope you have a great weekend.Mt DS7 will love to meet up with yours! We received our docs yesterday, too. So excited! But first, we are going on the 2-night TODAY! Yippee!
Thanks! His name is Kenny, and I"m sure that he will love to meet Jonah. We just got home a few hours ago (a bit of an annoyance, as our car service never showed at the terminal, so we grabbed a taxi to Penn Station, a train to Port Jeff, and a total-rip-off-of-a-horrible-taxi-service home). So sad to leave the Magic, but so happy that we have less than one month to re-embark! We even got a sneak peek at our cabin, which was an extra treat. I'll consider a Trip Report, this having been our first DCL, yet having sailed RCL fairly recently (Explorer '09 and Oasis '11). My DS ***much*** preferred DCL, despite not availing himself of the Lab/Club that much. (Oh, he WILL, in August! -- I plan to go to the gym every day, and Palo for brunch/dinner, and the Cove Cafe) Cheers! DeniseI hope you have a great weekend.
I told my DS about your DS and he can't wait to meet him. My sons name is Jonah. What is your sons name?
This gang is going to be scary - lol! Especially because I'm sure my 3 year old boy will be tagging along with them![]()
