August 12, 2011 Disney Dream Meet Link Here

I will reintroduce myself and family.
My name is Tina, my husband is Tim, and we are bringing 3 of our 4 daughters with us on this cruise. We are a blended family, a yours, mine and ours family. We are bringing, Krystina(15), haylee(12), and Gabby(1) with us. We are from just outside of Chicago. This will be my 12th Disney cruise, my husbands 11th, the older girls 10th, and little Gabby's 3rd. We are doing a B2B with the 8/7/11 sailing for a total of nine nights on board and 3 CC stops...can't wait!

Tim and I were supposed to be married on board the Magic 4/23/09, but I was very sick, 2/09 and it was life threatening, so we married at our church ASAP, and changed the wedding to a vow renewal. It was still beautiful, and I fully recovered by that time.

Our oldest daughter Krystina is heading to hs this fall. Haylee will be a 7th grader, and Gabby is celebrating her 1st Birthday July 6.

These 2 cruises will be our 1st time on the Dream, we are excited!

Welcome back Michelle:banana: Your DH sounds like mine. He tolerates my rambling and I know he tunes me out, but when we get to WDW or on-board, he turns into a 10 year old and does enjoy himself. He complains "Disney again?" and I give him the option of planning a different vacation but he never does. So yeah, it's "Disney again"!

I went to WDW last year with a coworker and her sister. They called me last week to talk about possibly going again next spring. After several discussions we have decided on 1 day at WDW and the Dream on April 29 for 4 nights. I'm overwhelmed!!

I like your friends! :woohoo:

Added you, Tina!

Nothing much going on over here. Ordered my magnetic strips and cut out most of ours and my in-laws magnets and organized them. Once I receive the strips on Monday, DD and I will apply them and cross it off of our list. Of course, I keep finding ones to print out. Must stop looking at them!

Have a wonderful weekend, all! Trying to head out to the pool with my girls once the thunder passes us.

Yay! We are officially under 50 days now. :cool1:

I'm determined to get my FE constructed this weekend!

Tina - Hooray to your recovery!!:yay: And we must compare notes about our vow renewals!:bride:

Anyone start to pack yet? :lmao: I started my list and have actually pressed off a few things I'm bringing................... Am I pushing it?

Good Luck on your FE!!

That sounds like a plan!!!

We have a few things packed that we always bring, but nothing else!!

July 30th can't get here fast enough, I need my Disney fix!!

Speaking about packing. We have not started yet. My oldest daughter is away working for the summer, she returns home in Pa the day before the cruise. My middle daughter is going to Equador in a few days on a three week missions trip. I am sure the washing machine in my house will be busy the week before our trip!

Does anyone ever ship clothes or supplies to a Disney resort.....assuming you do the parks as well as the cruise? I was thinking of shipping some fresh clothes, sneakers, and other things we will want in Disney but may not need to take on the cruise......thoughts are welcomed!

We have not started packing either. Since we are not going to WDW prior or after the cruise, we won't need much. I am looking forward to using my new packing cubes to keep us organized and possibly come with only one suitcase! That task was never doable in the past with youngest DD in diapers, but since she is finally potty training, that is becoming a possibily.

lexandme -Oooh, post pics once you get your FE finished. I need to get working on fixing mine up since two of the pocket seams ripped from over stuffing on our last cruise!

Gary Pinkos -That is not a bad idea. I have not personally had anything shipped to WDW since we are only 3 hours away, but in your case, I would ship a box to the hotel since space is limited in the cruise stateroom.

FE Gifts -Starting to get some ideas for our FE! So excited!! Don't forget, our Fish Extender Group cut off is this Friday, July 1st if you want to join in the fun!!

Happy weekend, all!

Reading all your comments about packing got me thinking...
We got our cases out today - 30 days until we fly out to the US - this has to be the most organised we have ever been. Nothing packed mind you. Still it's great to start thinking about the vacation. Well okay I'm always thinking about being on vacation! :goodvibes

We have also bought into Owner's Locker today - this will be dropped off at BLT where we start our vacation and picked up from Portofino Bay where we finish. We're hoping to keep all our essential vacation items in there to save carting them back and for on a transatlantic flight.

Been thinking about the fish extender group - sounds like fun but really don't think I'm going to be organised enough with all the stuff I have going on in work!

What items will you leave here?

I guess this guarantees for you and your family that will return again soon :rotfl2:

Come on, join in on the fun!

Do you know how many people we need to buy for for the FE? Just trying to get an idea of things to buy. I need to get 2 FE made. Guess I'll have to get them from ebey. Rae

Well I've been persuaded. Luke really wants to do the fish extender - Jason has told me it's my responsibility! Just need to have a look if there is something we can buy and customise to act as our fish extender as there's no way we've got enough time to make anything. :confused3

So please add us to the fish extender list Chylyn! :)

There's me - Lindsey (40)
Hubby - Jason (40)
Son - Luke (10 nearly 11)

We're in cabin 6514 on deck 6.

Gary - We plan to leave our Disney rain macs, Disney water cooler, kettle (we British like to use a kettle!), wireless router and other electrical items and so on. It will certainly lighten the load for us. Lots of British DVC owners seem to use Owner's Locker for this reason - and like you say it kind of guarantees our return!! :yay:

To introduce ourselves again:

There's me (Jamey) 34
DH: 33
DS: 11
DNeph: 10
DD: 6

We are from the lovely state of Connecticut.. Just your average Disney lovers here:yay: We've been making WDW our family vacation for the past 8 years, and we've been DVC members since 2008. This will be our first Disney Cruise.. And we're really excited to share it with my in-laws. They are big cruisers but first time for Disney Cruise for them too.

We would love to participate in the FE. Not the in-laws - just us listed above. Sorry it took so long to jump in. Our room number wasn't assigned until today. We will be in room 9114. Hopefully that is a good room, although I can't imagine a "bad" room lol.

I am soooooo excited!!! I can't believe we only have 46 more days!!!

Oh yeah, a couple of questions about the FE. Sorry if they've been asked already:
1. Do you give a surprise on the last debarkation (sp?) day? I would assume no..
2. What about on the first (embarkation) day? This day I would assume yes... But again just want to make sure. I want to participate "correctly" :rotfl:

OK I guess that's it for now. Hopefully we'll actually get to meet some of you to say hello in person!!

Good morning everyone! I tried to post yesterday from my Droid. I was volunteering for the agency I work for. A local kitchen remodeling company had a benefit golf tournament for us and I was positioned on the 13th green all day - 9am to 8pm to collect donations. I composed a long post and unfortunately it is now somewhere in cyberspace! Yesterday was the most boring day of my life!!!

I have been told if you call 888-325-2500 you can find out what movies will be showing on your cruise. I've not had the opportunity to call yet but hopefully I can today. I'm guessing Pirates 4 and Cars 2 will be headlining.

I got absolutely nothing done on my FE over the weekend. I cleaned like a mad woman all day Saturday. Sunday was DS rugby banquet and a trip to Southside Tattoo so DS could get a price on a Koi tattoo for his arm. When he found out it was going to be $600.00 it took care of itself. I have nothing against tattoos ( have 2 myself) but I wanted him to give it some additional thought before he jumped in there.

Good to see more folks joining the FE. It really is a lot of fun!

Oh, that stinks when you write up a long post and it never gets posted. Happened to me a few times and it is very annoying. That is the number for the movies, but I don't think they will know exactly what movies will be on your cruise until about two or three weeks out. I think it will be safe to assume Cars 2 and the POTC 4 will be showing since they are the newer disney movies out.

levisfam
Welcome back! I have a DD (6) that I am sure would love to meet your DD so they would know someone else in the kids play area. I am almost done potty training my youngest DD (will be 3 at the end of September), so I am not sure if she will be going to the kids club or the nursrey. Although, my oldest DD said that she would love to go to the kids club to get a break from her sister. LOL!

FE -I need to find some iron on or sew on embroidery characters and then I will be done. Oldest DD is a huge rugrats fan, so I am going to break the Disney rules and put that on her pocket. Shh! Youngest DD is a huge Little Einsteins fan, so I will put Rocket on hers once I find it embroidered. Might have to look on etsy for these two.

FE Gifts and Delivery
I think the gifts can be delivered anytime on the first night through the mid afternoon on sea day that way it gives everyone time to pack up everything. What do you all think?

It's time to reintroduce myself and my family since it's been over a year since I posted on this thread! DW and I have two sons - DS14 and DS9 (almost 10). Both of our boys are big fans of the kids' clubs, but DS14 just recently turned 14 so he's still trying to decide whether he prefers the tween club or the teen club. Anyone else have a similar issue?

We were on the Wonder in June 2007 and the Magic in October 2009, and we can't wait to sail on the Dream. We have two adjoining staterooms on Deck 9, and this is the first time we've had a separate stateroom for the kids. I don't know who's looking forward to that more - them or us! We booked the Sea Lion Encounter on Nassau and parasailing on Castaway Cay, but we got shut out of Palo brunch (even though I was online the instant that the bookings became available). I'll be there early after boarding to try to get a brunch reservation.

We'll be at WDW from August 7-12 before the cruise. We're splitting our stay between BCV and BWV. Looking forward to a great trip!

I also have a 14 yr old boy who says he's not going to the teen or tween clubs. I would like for him to go and have a good time. My daughter is 11 and she will probably have no problem going to the tween club. You will LOVE the sea lions. We swam with them in St Thomas and I think I liked it better than the dolphins. I guess I need to buy my FE on eBay soon. A crafty sewing person I am not. By the way, my name is Rae and my husband is Ray. Yes, you read that right. 14 yr old is Trevor and Melina is my daughter. We are also going to the parks before the ship. Only going from the 9th, though. Staying at PO Riverside. Also bringing my 68 yr old mom, Eleanor. I'm going to get her booty on space mtn if it's the last thing I do. She's never been on a roller coaster.lol! Can't wait to meet everyone.

Is your Mom looking forward to going on space mountain? Good luck with this endeavor!

This sounds like a great idea to me

Name
Did we firm up our name for our thread? Who was doing that?

I was never involved in that, were names voted on, or should we start a name calling poll now?

Meet
Did we firm up where we are going to meet on the ship?

(3smithboys) were already on the Dream a few months back. Lani wrote in post # 245

Nick and I think that from what we can remember that 2 places we could meet are Currents (which is an outside bar area on deck 13) right above the Quiet Cove pool. It is open for all ages.... or Club 687 on Deck 4 in the District Area. That is a sports bar/club that is open for all ages during the day...(Club 687 is inside.)

I'm not sure if one is better than the other, but I guess the inside choice might be safer since we would not have to worry about the weather, but the outside one is closer to the "action." Decisions....decisions!!!

Now I am not sure but they may already be traveling? If my memory serves, both Lani and Nick are teachers, and when they were done school, they may have been going to Europe for a wedding.

This may all ready have been asked and answered, but if we do have a name, can we register with the someone or somewhere on the Dream? So we could have imprompto get togethers.
