Would this be a super busy time at the parks? Or is it a little slower due to school start-ups? And I know it would be HOT!!! But, we have alot of heat and humidity here too, so we could deal with that. We usually go to DLR or WDW at spring break. And 2 years ago we went the week of Memorial day. How would late Aug/early Sept compare? TIA!!!:)

The parks will be quite manageable....but make sure you have ADRs booked because the sit-down restaurants will be full due to the free dining promotion.

Yes, ADRs are an excellent idea! The parks will be at low visitor levels, with a slight bump on the holiday weekend....this seems to be a holiday weekend where the crowds are not too bad, though - too many schools have either returned or are in the process of returning. Yes, it will be hot.....

I have visited the world 3 times during this week. I am going back this year, same week. During the last 2 years the crowds in the parks were very low, but the restaurants were full due to free dining.

This year my TA warned me that she thought all of August would be very crowded. She has had lots of requests for August and things are starting to fill up. I think as people forget about the hurricane potential, crowds start to return.

I like this week for vacation, although LD weekend will see a surge in crowds.

I would think that would be pretty crowded due to labor day weekend. Kids might be back in school, but the long weekend gives families that one last chance for vacation. Right after labor day is really when the parks start clearing out.

I've been the last few years and will be there this year also, the sit down restaurants are packed. Also remember that Tom Joyner reunion weekend is this weekend and there are special events with that most of the time so park hours can change a bit.

It can be very warm so be prepared for the heat!

Have a great trip!!

Looking at everyones schedules, it may be better for us to arrive on the Sunday of labor day weekend (9-2) and depart on Sat. (9-8). I think this will probably be better schedule wise and crowd wise!! And we only plan on doing 2 sit-down meals, and I will be making ADR's for them today after I look at the park schedules!!! We will have a party of 10, and will not be on the dining plan, so most meals for us will be CS. I am only planning this trip because I got a postcard a couple of weeks ago with a PIN, and now I have decided that it is too good a deal to pass up. I tried to book it today, but the lady at Disney said their systems were down, and so I have to try later! I hope the rooms aren't all booked!!!:)

we went last year, and there were almost no crowds at all! we had a blast! we are returning from aug 31-sep 4 this year, and we are hoping that it will be just like last year.

I'm so glad to read these replies! I'll be there at roughly the same time, and was starting to worry about crowds because of the trouble I had getting my ADRs. This is very encouraging! :)

tinkerbelle, hi. Could you elaborate a bit more about the actual holiday weekend? We're arriving Saturday of LDW so I'm a bit anxious about the crowds on Sat/Sun/Mon and then we only have Tuesday which I know will be slow. Thanks. Brenda

we are also going 8/31-9/5 and we are so excited!! i don't care how many people are there, i have my adrs and we are ready!! the more the merrier!!

I'm wondering the same too! For our honeymoon we arrived the Sunday before LD and stayed through Saturday and the crowds were low - I don't think we waited long if at all for anything. This time though we are arriving on Wednesday before LD and leaving on LD. I'm hoping crowds will be low at least on Thursday which will be our anniversary and our first full day. I'm expecting crowds to increase over the weekend, but hoping they'll still be less than when we visited mid-April this year!
Not much longer to wait everyone!

You'll have the weekend crowds. Not sure if it would be any heavier due to the holiday.... plan for extra people. I know the following weekend was somewhat crowded. During the week was slow. Good for getting on rides and into restaurants. Hope the latter will be true this year too.

 WOO HOO!!!! I'm sooo happy to hear all this!!! We `arrive Sun, Aug 26th until Sun. Sept. 2nd.

We were there the 2nd week of Sept. last year...literal walk-ons for the most part. The year before, we arrived on the Fri. of the Labor Day weekend for 10nts. From what I remember, Epcot (Fri) was sooo uncrowded. Sat was MGM...hardly had to use fastpass. AK on Sunday was great and we went to MK on the holiday Monday and practically walked on EVERYTHING!!!! :cloud9: I know we went on several headliners over and over and over!!!! You guys will be fine!!! :woohoo:

We are there Aug 31 to Sept 4....preparing for the heat as I make up our schedules!!!
With DD's first trip at 14mths old....a few hrs in the parks in the a.m. .....relax/swim/nap in the afternoon, and back to the parks for a few hours at night:) We will NOT be park commandos this trip.....really want to enjoy our resort and take lots of photos...and enjoy SAB!!
Hope to see some Dis'ers!!

We are going the same dates as you! I'm so excited to hear that the crowds won't be terrible!! I can handle either heat or big crowds, but both together sounds scary!!
