~Aug 2013~ Sew what~We've gotta find a way back-Part II- TR link posted - 8/31

Dang.

I missed the news about the house I was meant to retire to being available.

Is it still for sale? My son is heading to Hastings, MN. If i remember correctly from my history, MN is a small state with only a few settlements so chances are he'll be in your neighborhood. Maybe he could check out the cabin next to you. He's leaving CA next Tuesday and should arrive in your parts by the weekend.

:dance3:

I can't believe you're almost in the double digits. :cool1:

I am running out of adjectives for your bags :rotfl: The Jiminy bag is just wonderful.

It sounds like an awesome score on the BTS supplies.

I dont always use solid colors on my pillowcases at times I do use tone on tone.

The one I posted on FB today is tone on tone and I bought it at Joanns.

Hmmm... I did not see the one you posted on FB - I will go see if I can find it. :thumbsup2

No pictures of the lanyards? WEll, congrats on getting them done.

Ack!!! Sorry - no I didn't take pictures of the lanyards... I didn't even think of it - I sewed them together and threw them in our luggage. You'll get to see them in person though. :thumbsup2

Love the pictures from the monorail.

14 days!!! Today was supposed to be our very busy day. But.....

olive garden you say huh? Yup ....just about a week ago. I started the other night, but for me it was mixed with the spinning so, just alot of sitting in the bathroom.

DH today however..... so so sick. He is seldom sick. When he is, he just pushes through, but not today. I can't remember the last time he was this sick. So, I had to cancel all my running around since he is my chauffeur.
Any news on how long it lasts?

Oh no!!! I'd forgotten that you'd eaten there too! I sure hope you are all feeling better by now. :grouphug:

No signs of anything here... My guess, if we do - it will be Friday morning, right before we are supposed to leave for the weekend. :headache:

Love you JC bag. (selfishly wishing it was the auction bag.) :rolleyes1

Thank you !!! I am very happy with how it turned out.

So, I made some good progress on my custom order yesterday - and I finished the bag applique and the wallet applique.

Then I headed off to my hair appointment... Since my hair is so short now, I went with an all over color - then 2 highlights/lowlights... Love the color - still not in love with my cut. Which is my fault totally - I should have waited to cut my hair like this until after our trip. Oh well...

The girls are starting to get VERY excited for our trip... So much so, they made me turn on my Disney CD in the car yesterday. :thumbsup2 I feel like I've been waiting forever for them to get as excited as I am. LOL

Victoria and I made tacos for dinner last night - and then Josh and I sat down to watch "Shark week"... I really hate blood and gore - so I took the opportunity to take a nap.

Victoria is very excited... She had a babysitting job last night... And then she also was offered a HUGE babysitting job next week - it's 5 kids starting at 9am and going into the overnight and the next morning. She is super excited because she will have extra souvenir $$ for Disney - she will probably have more souvenir $$ than I will. LOL :wizard:

I work at Target today - I am sure of it this time - since I wrote my schedule down in my phone... THANK YOU so much for the suggestion - I had it in my mind that I worked Thurs this week... So you all probably saved my job. However, after this many years there - I am sure I would get a warning or something, but I doubt I would get fired. Although - you never know...

I only have one more work day after today until Disney!!! WHOOT!!!

I also plan on buying pillowcases while I am at work today... I am very excited to get started on V's autograph pillowcase... I hope to finish up this custom order tomorow - then work on her pillowcase/marker pouch tomorrow night and Friday morning before we leave.

Next week is IT... Once I get home from our weekend away - I will have 2 bags to complete... I will work on my auction bag first - I should be able to finish that by Wednesday easily. Then I have my final park bag... I don't plan on putting a huge or detailed applique on that one, but since it's a new pattern I plan on drafting - it might be a little rough. LOL But I really hope to finish that by Saturday - which - hopefully that will leave me Sunday to work on some accessories for our bags??? Craziness - I know. Monday will be spent pacing the floors, packing, being all nervous for the flight... popcorn::

I hope you all have a wonderful day... Thoughts and prayers go out to each of you. :grouphug:

Is the house on the other side of you available?

After a year in Santa Barbara my son is tranferring to a college in NY. One of his Navy buddies lives in Hastings so he's stopping there on the way home.

:car: <---- that's him, only MUCH faster :sad2:

Loving the Halloween pictures...even Josh looks like he is having a blast! :rotfl: That last photopass picture in front of the castle? :cloud9: The love and contentment on your faces is priceless!! :wizard:

Your trip is SO CLOSE!!! :cool1: :woohoo: Just take a deep breath...you are almost there!!! :dance3::yay::cheer2:

Hi! Remember me???
I'm finally back. I love all your pictures but the one series with Dopey is my FAVORITE!!!

i cannot believe your trip is here almost. PLEASE call me when you are with Suzi!!! I want to wish you all PIXI DUST LOVE!!! :wizard:

Just a short note on Kat. The procedure did not go as planned - she kept coming out of the sedation and then they couldn't find the PFO to patch it. She will be staying overnight and they will try again tomorrow under general anesthesia. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

D, I know I've not posted in a few days, but we've had some family issue arise that has been taking a lot of my time. I am still loving all the pictures from trips in the past.

Fun pictures!

Glad you were able to get some work done on the bag. Hope you had an uneventful day at work. Glad you figure out you worked today and not tomorrow.

I've enjoyed the last 2 days of doing nothing!! I really should have gone through Sarah and Jeremy's clothes but just didn't feel like doing it so that's going to now have to wait until Friday. Tomorrow both Jeremy and Sarah have dentist appointments (cleanings) and normally they are back to back but since I had to cancel our appointments back in May due to our cruise I wasn't able to get them close tighter. So the first one is at 12:10 pm and the next is at 3:50 pm!! Oh well we'll probably go to lunch and check out what the Disney Store has to offer before we have to head back.

Hope you had an enjoyable day at work ~ if that's even possible. Cannot wait to see your next set of bags. Each one is unique and a piece of art. I am still taking seeing lessons. My tutor a/k/a my mom, has said I have improved. My next adventure will be a rag quilt.
Thanks for sharing your past trip pictures. Love the pic of you all by the castle. Soon you will be leaving!!!! I am so excited for you and the girls.

All 3 of those photopass pics are fantastic. The first one in front of the haunted carriage is just a perfect shot of everyone...great smiles...lots of love. The 2nd one with the scared faces is too funny. All of your facial expressions are great...especially Josh. That last pic in front of the castle is just amazing...to me it showcases what Disney is all about and how families are brought together when they're there!

I am not sure I would call that "contentment" - LOL I am thinking that is more like "complete and utter exhaustion" ROFL... We were walking zombies at that point in that trip - I was so determined to see it all and do it all. :rolleyes1

Your trip is SO CLOSE!!! Just take a deep breath...you are almost there!!!

Yay!!! I am trying so hard - but wow... I still feel like I am under the gun...

Hey stranger!!!! Super glad to see you... We will have to Google Hangout or something while we are down there... It won't be the same with out you though.

Yikes - I hate it when that happens! At least you have a TDS to kill some time at - LOL... Hopefully their appointments go well.

Thank you! I am glad you are enjoying your lessons... I love rag quilts - I've only ever made a rag placemat, but I love it - they look so cool when they get all raggy.

So, I worked at Target all day yesterday... It was boring as usual. :rolleyes1

Then, I came home to a small box of goodies that came in the mail... I was sooooo excited! A few months ago, my friend Liz (Babynala) offered to help me out and make the girls and I some danglers for our bags... So, she sent me a list of the embroidery designs she had, the girls and I went through them and picked a few of our favorites. I told the girls to pick them in the order they wanted them - so favorite to least favorite... I also told them not to be greedy - which was super hard, because we loved them all. :rolleyes1 So, V picked her favorites - Monster's Inc. mostly and a Goofy one for good measure. Alli picked some random ones that she liked. And I picked mostly Toy Story and Jiminy themed ones... Now, telling my girls not to be greedy - and when I sent off our requests, I had the most. I was sure to tell Liz that she didn't have to do them all, because there were A LOT there - many more than we needed, we just couldn't decide. So, the box comes yesterday -and wouldn't you know it, Liz did EVERYTHING!!!! The girls were teasing me at dinner because I was squeeling with delight as I opened the box to see everything inside. Words cannot even describe how wonderful these are - and how much time Liz put into them for us - they are all AMAZING!

So, of course, V immediately went upstairs to attach her new danglers to her bag... I LOLed so hard at her, because - rather than attaching them to one spot... She attached them to her bag as if it was a Christmas tree... Her theory was - she wanted all of them to be seen because they were all awesome! :thumbsup2

(Grrr.... I am so irritated with Photobucket - it will not rotate my photos properly...)

20130807_154150.jpg

So - I need to apologize to Liz... I had every intention of posting pictures of everything attached to our bags (because we had fun doing that last night), but I got distracted, and didn't take any pictures. I promise that I will do that today, so I can post them tomorrow... Because they all look sooo FABULOUS!!!

Thank you Liz!!!!

Yup - you heard me right... I was distracted last night... :rolleyes1

Yup - it's Shark Week... No desire, honest, to watch that.

So, I went back up into my sewing room... And what did I do?

I made a cute little marker pouch for V's fabric markers. And then I made her pillowcase.

Today, I will be working on my custom order... Once that's finished, I will start on my auction bag... With any luck - I will get that cut out and maybe even start quilting it today.

I am pretty sure I've used most of my allowed images above, but I will try for some Disney photos...

I wasn't planning to do this last night, but the little marker pouch went together so easily - then I started on her pillowcase... I am getting smarter and smarter with that embroidery machine (sort of)... I was able to figure out - if I changed the orientation so it's the long way - I can do a whole word... :woohoo: Then, last night, I figured out - I could move the word with in the frame... So, I was able to do one word at the top, one at the middle and one at the bottom... So, 3 words all in the same hooping. :woohoo: It turned out so cute! Now, I admit that it isn't perfect... But for one of my first times - I am happy with it. V picked out all the fabrics herself... There was a bit of tension on the marker case - because I wanted the dots on the outside (as a rule, I never put character fabric on the outside of my bags) - but in the end, V pouted, and I gave in... It's her pouch afterall - and this fabric is really awesome. :confused3

My apologies for the bad arm/hand shadows in all the pictures...

I like the character on the outside!!! it's cute and different! :thumbsup2 glad V made you do it! :lmao:
Congrats on learning cool stuff on the machine. It's awesome as usual.

I LOVE LOVE the villain photo's!!!! Never did MNSSHP so i am totally excited for it next year!!!!

I just stopped by to say hi. We have been crazy here since my kids went back to school today.:banana::banana: (is that mean?). Things have been hectic with Open Houses and getting all the supplies today plus the anxiety of starting a new school year. Since it is a short week we should be able to work our way into the new schedule.

I forgot to reply about this from one of your previous posts but I wanted to say congratulations on getting fit and losing weight for your trip. :thumbsup2

Enjoying the pictures from MNSSHP, especially the ones with the villians.

I love Victoria's pillowcase. Nothing like a last minute project. I think using the existing pillowcase was a great idea and I love the marker pouch (sorry I have to side with V on this one because that fabric is just too cute for a lining). The embroidery looks really nice, glad you are figuring it out.

Good luck to V on her babysitting gig. 5 kids overnight :scared1: (just kidding). I know she will be fine and of course all that souvenir money is a big bonus.

Glad to see you got package. I'm happy to hear you and the girls are enjoying your Pixie Dust. They were fun to make. No worries about the pictures (I know time is a limited commodity these days). Knowing that the girls are getting super excited for your trip is making me smile. As long as they don't come up with any more projects for you.

Have fun this weekend. :yay:

Fabulous job on this. I love the little bag I wish I wasn't scared of zippers.

The dangles are so cool. I should make one for on Js backpack.

Love the marker case. In this case I love the character fabric on the outside too. The writing on the pillow case & fabric edging is awesome!

The villian photos look like great fun!

The bag tags are adorable, can't wait to see the rest. :)

The pillowcase is just so fun! I love that fabric! Great idea :thumbsup2

Single Digits for me today!!! You are right around the corner :yay:

Love the Villian pics....that is teh ONLY reason I want to go for Halloween...to see all the Villians. Maybe once Bradey is older and isn't scared of them....or a girls trip :rolleyes1

Oh, I'm so glad you got that JC bag done for yourself! It is just fabulous! You are going to make it through your list after all. Sooo happy for you! And that marker bag you just "whipped" together. I should be so skilled!

Loving the pictures from the last several days. I am in Virginia, helping my DD before the arrival of her 4th baby. I'm having a blast. I had a ton of activities planned for the 3 weeks I'm here and so far the kids are all loving them. They are 6, 4, and almost 2, so they are simple for the 2 year old with a few things thrown in to challenge the 6 year old. I don't think DD will make it to her due date...but we'll see.

The kids are watching Lady and the Tramp right now, so I thought I'd take this chance to sneak onto the DIS. When I get a chance, I'll try to keep up. You and the girls will be on your trip before I get home. Hard to believe it's THAT CLOSE!! You are doing great with completing everything. All that and BTS prep. WHEW! Good for you!

Prayers for Kat!
