~Aug 2013~ Sew what~We've gotta find a way back-Part II- TR link posted - 8/31

Kat update - after putting her under general anesthesia, and inserting the scope, they still could not find the PFO. They tried several times and then determined that there is no PFO and never has been. They are not sure where the clot that caused the stroke came from (maybe from the bleeding colon -DUH), but it wasn't from a hole in her heart. She is doing well, considering. She will have to be on blood thinners for a long time to come. Still waiting to hear if she will be moving into the Wounded Warrior housing at Walter Reed or staying on convelscent leave and staying with her Dad.

Sorry I didn't get here earlier to post, but I was at a seminar all day and not near a computer.
Poor Kat. I continue to pray for her.

Everything looks great and those danglers are adorable! I'm sure you guys are getting excited!

We leave in FOUR days for our trip out west. Disneyland Hotel check in will be a week from this Sunday! I'm looking forward to the whole Cali trip but probably our last five nights at Disneyland will be my favorite. Just so many new things to see!

Have fun on your trip. :hyper:

D~ Sounds like you and the girls are enjoying your weekend. Good luck to Grandpa in the driving lesson, I'm sure Alli will be good.

Yeah for the single digits. Can't believe your trip is just around the corner it seems like only yesterday you started Part I of your PTR. ;)
:banana::banana::banana:

Ok I am behind, just wanted to say I love the danglers and the bag with the char on the outside is just so cute. Love it I may have to try making a small bag that way. :rotfl: yours are so nice, the stitches all straight and the zippers look straight mine are always alittle off I think. For years I would do anything that took a zipper....:confused3 now I have to hit my sewing room again.

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Just read on one of the other sites that refrigerators have been replaced in the Port Orleans resorts. I'm hoping they will have been replaced at CBR, but its not that important for us.

Okay, just a fly by to let you all know my 6th grandchild was born this morning around 7:30AM. Her name is Amelia Joy and her picture is so cute. I have a cold, so can't go in to see her, but I'm pretty busy taking care of the other 3 anyhow. They will come home tomorrow sometime. Thanks for prayers for the safe delivery!

I won't apologize for the highjack since you always say it's okay, D~ But thanks!!

ETA: Great news on the fridges. Now Allie can have her cold drinks no problem. Yay!!

Congratulations Lois! My maternal grandmother's name was Amelia & I love how versatile it can be.

My youngest grand child is 3 months old and her name is Amelia! Great name (even if her mom and I do not agree that she should be called Mia!)

Sorry that I don't have the timet o respond to everyone this morning. Thank you to to all of you for all the well wishes for a nice weekend. :lovestruc

I did pull a couple of quotes out though - that I wanted to respond to. :thumbsup2

Wow, the embroidered Monsters, Inc. characters are adorable.

I must have missed the post where you got an embroidering machine, but I remember you tossing the idea around. Anyhow... very cute pillow case and bag.

Hehe... Well - technically - I didn't get one. A friend of mine loaned it to me indefinately, with the option to buy it if I like it, or give it back if I didn't. Unfortunately, for my wallet - I like it... but the issue is that it's a model that I would need to buy a lot of accessories for, to get it to do what I need it to do. Since everything I do is hand applique - I need this machine to do fonts... Instead - I plan on purchasing a machine from a sewing friend after we return from our trip. :thumbsup2 So, yes I have an emboridery machine right now... but technically - it isn't mine. LOL

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Just read on one of the other sites that refrigerators have been replaced in the Port Orleans resorts. I'm hoping they will have been replaced at CBR, but its not that important for us.

Yay!!! This is good news! Thanks for letting me know Tess!

Yay!!!!!! Have a great trip!!

**********************************************************

Well, we eventually made it home yesterday... :rolleyes1 After dealing with parking lot traffic on the interstate - the girls and I pulled off at the first exit we could and took back roads... Then the exit we needed - the exit ramp was closed... It was just a mess... We ended up cris-crossing the metro at least 4 times... :rolleyes1 But we all made it home - exhausted.

We all had a great time... No photos to prove it - but is was a lot of fun and great to see lots of family and friends - especially considering that I didn't make it for the wedding a few months back.

As you all know - now I am in FULL-ON Disney CRUNCH TIME mode... This will not be an easy week on me.

I have my August auction due on Thursday - which normally wouldn't be a problem... but I work Wednesday... So, that leaves me today and tomorrow to start and finish a full bag set. popcorn:: :headache: Not to mention - Alli has an appointment today... So, today isn't even a full day. Sigh. I will do what I can, and do the best I can. This auction is only for my souvenier $$ - so I will survive with out it if I must. :wizard:

Then, starting Thursday - I can dig into my final park bag... I've had the visual in my mind for a very long time, so I really hope to get to it.

At some point - later this week - I will have to do the laundry from this weekend and get everything packed.

It will be crazy until Thursday - then I think that things will be much less frantic for me.

If I don't get back on here by the time you leave. Safe travels to you and the girls and have a wonderful time.

Hate the Cindy bag! :rotfl: Not really, but I feel like I say the same thing every time. Of course it is wonderful and one of my favorites actually. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Cinderella. You amaze once again.

I know you will get everything done. You seem to always finish strong. Don't worry about quoting anyone these last few days...YOU'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Everyone who is going this week or soon, have a magicalpixiedust: trip and enjoy your DIS-meets! Wish I was with you!!!

ETA: Love, love, love the fairy shots!!!

Gorgeous carriage bag!! Very pretty!! Have to say it's one of my favorites because Cinderella has always held a special place in my heart!!

Glad you made it home safe! Good luck getting everything done this week!! Can't wait to see what your able to do for the auction!

Its perfect what a lovely bag set.............But I would get it dirty in about three seconds......lol I will stick to darker colors.

D-I continue to be so impressed with not just how wonderful everything you make is (I really love the pencil on Vs bag-your details are marvelous!) but I'm so impressed with just how much your able to do!!!

I love all the photos you've posted. Especially the early morning MK shots and CP photos.

Sounds like you had a great weekend!

I've been embarrassed to come tell you how little I've done. I had hoped to make a few things but just didn't have it in me. I did take Lizzy's Pooh backpack that I made 2 years ago apart-the straps frayed on it. I will replace the cheap purple webbing with a higher quality black webbing. Putting it back together again should be easier than taking it apart.

I've decided I have to be happy with just that as I can't handle the stress of anything else. I feel bad that Emma now has more that fits than Joe & Lizzy but they seem OK with that. Due to my work schedule it is easier for me to sew for May than August.

My left foot-the better one before surgery-has been very painful the last month or so. After surgery my doctor told me it was in worse shape-no catalidge in that joint but this pain isn't in the joint-more in the ball of my foot but now the pain is radiating to the toes and up the rest of the foot. Thursday we met with my girlfriend from FL and her DD(13) and went to the Adams (Presidents John Adams& John Quincy Adams) National Park. We had never taken the kids. We had a great afternoon together before she drove to Maine to see her Dad. That night my foot was so bad it kept me awake at night. There was a lot of standing involved. I can walk better than stand. And my right foot was swollen. I was really discourage by this but am feeling a bit better about it now that I realize the right foot problem was due to favoring it so much. I was afraid I was completely falling apart. I am still worried about how much I will be able do at Disney but being there even if I have to really slow down will be so much better than being at work. And maybe slowing down wont be such a bad thing.

I've got clothes packed for me & kids. I assume DH will pick out so clothes to pack. Now I just have to pull together everything else-mostly that means charging all the cameras and making sure photos are all backed up so I can reformat memory cards. I just did my grocery order. Ive still got a ton to do at work but I think I might just make it.:cool1:

Sweet pictures with the fairies!!!
your busy...
Get to work!

Haha...

what can I say, LOVE IT!!!! btw, my 3 yr old would die over this bag. She is slightly into cinderella

THank you... I just love the fabric I used - it makes everything look so classy.

I love love love the Cindy bag and the colors are perfect for it.

Thank you Chiara!

Well if the pictures do not do it justice then it must be amazing in person! Love it

Thanks Sandra!

Thanks! Surprisingly, it's not as light as it appears. Don't get me wrong - it is a light colored bag, but my photos make it look much lighter than it is. I can sew - but I cannot take pictures worth anything. ROFL.

Love the Cinderella bag.

Thank you Kathy!!! Your trip is getting sooooo close!!!!

Please don't worry about it... I know you are super busy - we all are. Who cares what we wear to Disney - as long as we get to GO... Right? Yes - I know - I need to listen to that myself. LOL

This sounds so awful and painful. Having Plantar Fascitis - I know that foot problems can be just horrible. Do you think you will rent a scooter if you can't handle all the walking in WDW? I think it may be a smart idea. Although - I really hope it gets better before you go. (((Hugs)))

Yay for being packed! I know I need to get all the electronics bundled up - that's one thing I always fear I will forget. Safe travels you to you, my friend and I look forward to meeting you!

**********************************************************

Well... I accomplished a lot yesterday. I was able to finish quilting most of my auction bag... I say "most" because I changed my mind about which interior fabric to use, so now I need to go back and requilt those pieces. Sigh. I decided to do a small applique on the front, mixed with a 3D effect... Hopefully it turns out as nice as my mind thinks it will. I need to finish the whole thing today... I have high hopes...

I still have NO idea what I am going to put on the wallet... I need to figure something out...

After Alli's appointment yesterday, we stopped at Target... I grabbed a few last minute items for our trip... Magazines and such...

Then - I came home to a package... but before I tell you about yesterday's package, I need to tell you all about last weeks package that I didn't post pictures of... (shame on me...)

So, last week Liz sent all of the danglers - remember? And the only photo I posted was of V and the ones on her bag... Well - there was TON more. What I was really waiting for - was to catch Alli on the run, and stop her long enough to take a picture - well, that just never happened. :confused3 So, I just decided to take pictures anyways... Trust me - there will be MANY photos of all these items on our trip. Seriously - these are all soooo Ahhhh-mazing - my photos do NOT do them justice at all!

OK - so first are the danglers for my Jiminy UPB:

IMG_0456.jpg

Then the ones on my Toy Story UPB:

IMG_0457.jpg

And finally - all of the random ones that Alli chose for her bag... I bet you can't guess which one she was most excited about??? You'll never guess...

IMG_0458.jpg

So, then yesterday, the girls and I received another package... This one I knew about - but I did not know it was Pixie Dust... I had every intention of paying for it - considering I ordered all of it... This one came from my good friend Chiara... and contained LOTS of amazing goodies...

Thank you so much Chiara!!!

Earlier in the year, I had come up with a wonderful idea... Rather than someone making us a bunch of shirts - I would just stock up on tank tops over the season. I had approached Chiara and asked her if she would kindly make a BUNCH of appliques on felt for me - and just mail me the felt... I would cut them out and put them on whatever shirt I needed them to go on. So, she let me pick through her designs, and while she was on maternity leave (with that precious little girl of her's) - she cranked these out for me. I have been super excited about them for a LONG time!

IMG_0459.jpg

Aren't those awesome??? I was so excited about them, that after dinner last night (rather than working on my auction bag - like I was supposed to be doing... :rolleyes1) I took the time to straight stitch them on to a few of my tank tops. V helped me pick out which ones should go on which shirt, and she helped me with placement... I don't have any pictures of them on the shirts yet - but I will try to do that this afternoon. I am hoping to seam rip them all off when I get home - and reuse them for other trips. I am not 100% positive this will work, but I am soooo happy with how they look on my shirts so far. :rolleyes1

So, then - Chiara snuck a little surprise in the package for us, as well. :wizard: She gave each of us a necklace with our favorite character on it... Now, I had every intention of getting a picture of both girls with their new necklaces on... but I am NOT kidding when Alli opened hers, she immediately put it on - and I was not able to catch her the rest of the night. Sigh... She LOVED it though. I am not going to tell you all what it is, because I hope to catch her later today for a picture...

But here are mine and V's - aren't they adorable? Mine is already packed...

IMG_0460.jpg

And here is V modeling her's...

IMG_0461.jpg

So... Yesterday was a pretty exciting day in our house! So many fun things happening as we gear up to leave in a week! WHOOT!!!

Not to mention - I woke this morning to see this count down on my phone...

Screenshot_2013-08-13-05-42-09.png

So, now I need to get a move on my day... I have so much to get done! I am still a little freaking out, because our trip is so close... I feel like I will be able to relax a little once this auction bag is finished.

**********************************************************

Let's see if I can find another 2008 trip photo for you all... Yup - story of our lives... The ride that has only been open for ONE of our trips... BTMRR... We are so excited that it will be open for this trip!
