~Aug 2013~ Sew what~We've gotta find a way back-Part II- TR link posted - 8/31

AWWWWWWW that was so sweet! I LOVE the MK walk in the morning!! Made my morning yet again!

I know - I love it too!

I now can almost feel being on Main Street after seeing your pictures.

Thanks Kathy... I can't wait!

Thanks D and Nini for the military ticket info! I can't wait to hear about the dates for your next trip!

Any time, but I think Nini gave out more info than I did... :rolleyes1 LOL

Thanks for the nice MK picks.....it reminds me so much of walking into Disneyland it did feel like you were right there. Love it. Can not wait to see Dinsneyland's big brother.... I'm so excited. I just can't hide it.Dang now that song is stuck in my head.

Hahaha... Yah - it's very overwhelming the first time... but honestly - take a moment to take it all in. :lovestruc I wish I would have known to do that on our first trip.

Okay, back on the computer.

Love the pictures, ahh, 25 days? I can almost smell Disney.

Whoot! I know... I cannot wait!

have a fabulous day.

Thank you - you too! :lovestruc

Look...it's Indiana Jones again! :

Ha! I won't tell him that too... He dresses like that all summer long, because it keeps him cool... Minus that hat, of course - that's been hanging on our bedroom wall since we got home 5 years ago - collecting dust. :confused3

I could look at your pictures of Disney, listen to D-Cot Disney music and swear I could smell the popcorn and bakery on Main Street!! Thanks for the visual stimulation! Glad you're making progress. Don't forget to breath.

Hahaha... Any time... Trying to breathe...

**********************************************************

Yesterday I worked at Target... It was the MOST boring day ever. They had 2 of us scheduled in electronics, and not a thing for either of us to do - the whole store was that way... Super annoying. :headache:

I didn't step a foot into my sewing room all day... I probably should have, but :confused3

Today, I plan to (hopefully) finish up my custom order bag. Lots of bells and whistles on this one, so I am not sure that I will totally finish it. I dont' plan on touching V's bag at all until this one is done. Once I finish this one, I have all next week off of custom orders, so I will be able to devote the whole week to our stuff. I really hope to make a good dent in it. :wizard: Next week - if I can finish V's bag and my first bag, I will consider myself in good shape. It will be very close.

Nothing real trip related going on... Oooh, but I did load the Photopass CD into our computer last night... I took a few of the photos and emailed them to myself, so I could open them on my phone and save them, in turn, I could use them for the backgrounds on my phone... There are some really cool ones on there! As Disney is getting closer - I've been changing out my wallpapers every few days. :woohoo:

Screenshot_2013-07-26-05-13-27.png

Oooh... And I wanted to do a quick diet update... I've been working hard, and I am back on track this week... I am pretty sure I am down a full size since 4th of July weekend, or darn close to it. Which makes sense to me, since I had been dieting for 2 months previous to that - it just took it that long to kick in... I have no idea how much "weight" have lost, since I don't weigh myself. I did at the beginning - 3 months ago, but I have no idea how much I have lost... I am just going by how I feel and how my clothes fit. Since, in my mind - I could care less how much I weigh... It's how I look and feel that matters.

**********************************************************

Today's photos... Another series... Sorry, but this is a long one, and a special one... Josh was crabby this morning - really crabby... As in, it was cold, no one was dressed properly, there was a crowd at the MK gates (due to his PTSD, he can't do crowds)... And he was crabby... When Josh is crabby - everyone knows about it, he is not quiet. :( We were the only ones in Frontierland, and Josh was pressing pennies... This Goofy approached us and totally changed our day around. What's even more impressive is that he put Josh in a good mood. I was laughing so hard when Goofy was begging Josh for some $$ so he could press pennies too - It took Josh a minute to figure out what Goofy was asking to do. :rotfl2:

On a side note... I just have to laugh at this picture... It was so cold this morning, that V had to buy a sweatshirt... The sweatshirt she is wearing there, she still wears to this day - it's her favorite. :lovestruc We have many photos of her wearing that sweatshirt for years to come.

Anyways... I hope you all have a fantastic day... All of you are always in my thoughts and prayers.

D~

love todays pictures they are fabulous.

Wishing you productive sewing vibes.

Live the Goify pictures and that he was able to improve Josh's mood.:thumbsup2

Have a great weekend; we have 2 weddings this weekend.

Oh the smiles!:lovestruc Where else could you go on vacation and have an employee bring such joy and coax a good mood out of someone? Only Disney. People wonder why we go every year and I honestly can't put into words what a lift a Disney vacations brings. I think you either "get it" or not. Josh may not get it now, but he seemed to get it then. So glad he encourages you girls to go and have fun. Hopefully one day he'll want to join you again. (when you can go in September or early December when there are almost NO crowds to contend with.;)

Happy sewing!:flower3:

Oh my Goodness! talk aboot pulling on heart strings! Look at all those happy faces.. :lovestruc
This IS the reason i love Disney. This right here alone shows what Disney can do with family's taking bad situations and making then so so much better!
pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Just love it.

I cannot wait to see the new bag! Especially with bells and WHISTLES!!!! :cheer2:
I bet it is amazing AGAIN!!!

I love the Everest picture on your phone!!! So very very awesome. EE is one of my favorite rides.

I love the story and the pictures about your experience with Goofy. Goofy is one of may favorite characters...how could he not bring a smile to your face! I think it's awesome that Goofy was able to bring the hubby out of his funk! :thumbsup2 From the looks of it, you had Goofy all to yourself for a little bit and it looks like it as a pretty amazing experience.

I can't wait to see your next custom bag and of course what amazing ideas you have come up with for V's bag! You are so talented and I am just amazed by everything that you do! :worship:

Okay I admit it my eyes reared up a bit reading about your goofy encounter)and seeing the pics of course helped). So pretty sure if I was there I would be bawling my eyes out.

Good luck in the sewing ro today.

It's been so long since I commented, we have been so busy around here lately, it's hard to get the time to comment properly. I can't remember the last bag I commented about. Regardless, the last few bags are A-MAZ-ING!!! Your talent knows no bounds and I can't wait to see your next creations.

Loving the retro pictures too! Brings back lots of memories. 2008 was the first visit for DH and DS. It was my 9th visit, but the last time I had visited was about a year after Epcot had opened, so it was like my first time again. I remember the fun of seeing the excitement in DS as he saw things. DH won't admit it, but he was super excited to be there too. He proudly wore his 1st visit button everywhere. Here are a few pics.

DH and DS waiting for the bus. I'd love to say this was our first day, but I admit I forgot to take the picture the first two days!
1009810_10151467641692202_622832515_n.jpg

DS enjoying the teacups. This is the face we saw almost every moment of the trip. He was having so much fun!
972074_10151467641707202_1137674153_n.jpg

DS told us that he knew the characters were just people dressed up in costumes but that he didn't mind. DH wanted his picture taken with a princess (see I told you he was excited to be there!) and this was DS's reaction when he realized it was a real live princess! I think he was awestruck!
945759_10151467641767202_1778867514_n.jpg

I can't believe how much DS has changed! Thanks for letting me go back down memory lane with you. Keep the pictures coming!

I can't believe your trip is so close! Loving all your plans too. Next time we go, I really need to do a planner. I really love the look of yours. Guess I need to start bugging DH and saving my pennies so we can go back!

SOOOOOOOO sweet with DS and DH!!!!!
today is such a great magical day looking at all your pictures!!!! :grouphug:

I now can almost feel being on Main Street after seeing your pictures.:goodvibes

Me Too! Especially since that's how it's always decked out when we go - Sept or Oct.

Now, I forgot to grab the quote, but I believe you said that you did DHS the last day before you got on the plane and spent most of that in 1st Aid...correct? Just went to prove my point - never have any park for your last visit (even half a day before boarding a plane) except MK. BAD THINGS HAPPEN - like spending said time in 1st aid. It's Disney magic, I tell you.

Quick update on RL stuff: Mom is going to spend some time in rehab for her knee - she's almost 80, has an extremely low pain threshold and a low tolerance for pain medications, so we all think that's probably for the best. DH's family is doing the best they can under the circumstances and DH starts back to work Monday.
- oh, and I have 3 weeks before school starts and everything falls into our slow time at work. So I might get some time off. :thumbsup2

Have fun in your sewing room: every time I try to sew, something interrupts me, But I made a proof of concept t-shirt earlier this week and I've got a couple of bags with pieces cut out that I need to at least start to assemble.

23 days :banana::banana: Whoop!

Wow, I miss one day and you've planned another trip. Hmmm, waiting to find out when the fun is going to be :scratchin

The pictures of the family with Goofy are making me teary too. What a GREAT memory. I love the picture of Goofy holding the pressed penny but that expression on V's face when she is hugging Goofy is priceless.

Can't wait to see your custom bag! Glad to hear you got your tickets purchased with your gift cards. :thumbsup2 to your TA, such a pain that she had to make a few phone calls before she got it straightened out. At least she wasn't trying to use the Disney website. :badpc:

Enjoy seeing the pictures of other families enjoying the Disney fun too. :goodvibes

Howdy,
I am here been reading along but have not been able to reply to anyone for a few weeks ~ Sorry!!!!!!!

YAHOO new trip to plan and take the sting out of leaving for this one. Am I the only one who gets a bit sad at the airport before leaving because the planning fun is done.

Can't wait to hear. I just love the flashback photos. The ones with Stich were awesome and so was the last series with Goofy.

Tangled bag and Auction bag were very nice or wicked awesome as we say here. Love the fabric choices for both.

Awwww....see now, that right there is why we all love Disney so much. Taking a grumpy Josh to a super duper smiley Josh is easy as adding a little Goofy :thumbsup2

What a great Goofy to help turn your day around!!

HOpe you have a successful sewing day so you can get everything done!

Thanks Chiara! Same to you!

Live the Goify pictures and that he was able to improve Josh's mood.

Yes - it really turned his frown upside down. ::yes::

Yikes - two weddings... Have fun!

I sure hope he will come back with us - or with me someday... Until then, I am enjoying the trips with the girls. :lovestruc

Oh my Goodness! talk aboot pulling on heart strings! Look at all those happy faces..
This IS the reason i love Disney. This right here alone shows what Disney can do with family's taking bad situations and making then so so much better!

Just love it.

Exactly... I mean - Goofy seriously walked up out of nowhere... He didn't even have a handler with him for the first few minutes... I think he wandered off. :rolleyes1 But I think Goofy was having just as much fun as Josh and the girls.

I cannot wait to see the new bag! Especially with bells and WHISTLES!!!!
I bet it is amazing AGAIN!!!

LOL - me too... I hope to post it later today.

I love the Everest picture on your phone!!! So very very awesome. EE is one of my favorite rides.

Thanks!!! It is one of our favorite rides as well - and one of the big reasons AK is a two day park for us. The photo is on the CD of stock photos that Disney sends you for ordering Photopass+... I am so happy that I have all these great new images to use as backgrounds on my phone.

I love the story and the pictures about your experience with Goofy. Goofy is one of may favorite characters...how could he not bring a smile to your face! I think it's awesome that Goofy was able to bring the hubby out of his funk! From the looks of it, you had Goofy all to yourself for a little bit and it looks like it as a pretty amazing experience.

We love Goofy too... It seems that we have a very special interaction with him on each trip. And yes, we did have him all to ourselves for quite a while. He wandered up out of nowhere, no handler or anything... and then just jumped in... He tapped Josh in the shoulder - Josh turned around and scowled at him (he thought it was me - LOL) and then he saw it was Goofy... Goofy started miming that he wanted to press a penny... It was just so cute. I think it took Goofy's handler a while to find him, because we were almost done pressing pennies when he finally walked up.

I can't wait to see your next custom bag and of course what amazing ideas you have come up with for V's bag! You are so talented and I am just amazed by everything that you do!

Awww... Thank you! Really, I just sew... I have no idea how I do some of the things I do. LOL

Okay I admit it my eyes reared up a bit reading about your goofy encounter)and seeing the pics of course helped). So pretty sure if I was there I would be bawling my eyes out.

Good luck in the sewing ro today.

LOL - I didn't have time to bawl my eyes out... but it was super cool and super fun!

It's been so long since I commented, we have been so busy around here lately, it's hard to get the time to comment properly. I can't remember the last bag I commented about. Regardless, the last few bags are A-MAZ-ING!!! Your talent knows no bounds and I can't wait to see your next creations.

I can't believe your trip is so close! Loving all your plans too. Next time we go, I really need to do a planner. I really love the look of yours. Guess I need to start bugging DH and saving my pennies so we can go back!

Yes, you do - I bet you could create an awesome one! And yes, I also think you need to start saving again!

Me Too! Especially since that's how it's always decked out when we go - Sept or Oct.

I do love, love, love going to Disney in the fall - it's so gorgeous. Also want to go at Christmas sometime... Some day.

Trust me, after last time - I totally believe you! LOL

Quick update on RL stuff: Mom is going to spend some time in rehab for her knee - she's almost 80, has an extremely low pain threshold and a low tolerance for pain medications, so we all think that's probably for the best. Sending prayers out for your Mom - I hope everything goes well and she is back to herself in no time.

DH's family has been in my thoughts a lot lately...

I hope you are able to get some time off. :thumbsup2

Have fun in your sewing room: every time I try to sew, something interrupts me, But I made a proof of concept t-shirt earlier this week and I've got a couple of bags with pieces cut out that I need to at least start to assemble.

Cool! I can't wait to see what you make!

23 days Whoop!

Eeeeep!!! I know - I am a wreck... YOu all should see me... I am the perfect vision of a lunatic!

Wow, I miss one day and you've planned another trip. Hmmm, waiting to find out when the fun is going to be

OK - I wouldn't say I've gone and planned another trip... I am just testing the waters and getting a teeny tiny little harmless quote... That's all. :rolleyes1

The pictures of the family with Goofy are making me teary too. What a GREAT memory. I love the picture of Goofy holding the pressed penny but that expression on V's face when she is hugging Goofy is priceless.

Yah - that's one of the many reasons she loves Goofy so much!!! It seems, on every trip, He does something very magical for us... :lovestruc

Can't wait to see your custom bag! Glad to hear you got your tickets purchased with your gift cards. to your TA, such a pain that she had to make a few phone calls before she got it straightened out. At least she wasn't trying to use the Disney website.

Yah - now I can't wait for them to get here... I am going to have to send my TA a message and see if my tickets can be hooked into my KTTW card? I sure hope so - it would be one less thing to have to drag around. ::yes::

Enjoy seeing the pictures of other families enjoying the Disney fun too.

Me too!

Howdy,
I am here been reading along but have not been able to reply to anyone for a few weeks ~ Sorry!!!!!!!

Hi Jane!!! Glad to see you back!

YAHOO new trip to plan and take the sting out of leaving for this one. Am I the only one who gets a bit sad at the airport before leaving because the planning fun is done.

I have never, ever had another trip booked before I left WDW - so this would be a totally new experience for me... One I am very much looking forward to having. LOL

Can't wait to hear. I just love the flashback photos. The ones with Stich were awesome and so was the last series with Goofy.

Thanks!

Tangled bag and Auction bag were very nice or wicked awesome as we say here. Love the fabric choices for both.

Hahaha... Thanks! :lovestruc

Love these photos!!! This is why I love Disney. Happiest place on earth!!!!

Exactly, me too!!! When we go, we always see so many people who are complaining aobut the lines and such... I love the lines, I love every part of the whole experience. At least Disney gives you something to look at in the lines. LOL

Awwww....see now, that right there is why we all love Disney so much. Taking a grumpy Josh to a super duper smiley Josh is easy as adding a little Goofy

Hahaha... Hmmm... Maybe I need to invite Goofy to stay as a houseguest? LOL

What a great Goofy to help turn your day around!!

HOpe you have a successful sewing day so you can get everything done!

Hi Sandra! How are you feeling these days?

**********************************************************

YEsterday was just a blur for me... I worked on my custom order all day long... I was determined to finish the bag. I am super in love with it - all of the fabrics and the applique just turned out stunning and so "Disney-esque"... I cannot wait to show you all. Unfortunately - I had to set it aside at the last minute... I was having some issues and rather than pushing myself along just to finish - I decided I would get better results if I quit for the day and resumed this morning. So, I have about 20 minutes left of it... Then I am going to do the wallet/lanyard - and I will be done.

Then it will be on to finishing V's bag.... Cannot wait to get that one done! Once that is done, I will be so relieved! My bag will be a cinch to finish - not really, because the applique is pretty detailed - but the rest of my bag is totally done, so once the applique is finished, I just have to assemble and badda-bing - badda-boom... We will all have a new bag for the trip. I really do hope to finish 2 more for myself though... :rolleyes1 I was talking to someone IRL the other day... and they were giving me crap because I don't carry my own bags - LOL - So I likened it to the house builder who never has a nice house, because he is too busy building every one else's houses... That's me... I never get a chance to work on something for myself because I am always too busy doing other's bags... So - I am really excited to finally have a few bags that I can carry when I get home. :lovestruc

I started working on laundry for our trip... I honestly don't think I will need a ton of room in my suitcase for clothes - since we are going at such a hot time of the year, almost everything I am packing is tank tops and shorts - which don't take up a lot of room. Question: Do you all think I should take a sweatshirt and a pair of capris? Or do you think I won't need them at all? I tend to get chilly when I fly, so I almost always wear a sweatshirt on the flight. :confused3 Maybe I will wear capris on the flight too? I am just afraid I will be too hot once I get there?

I still need to do a load of whites, so I can get all of our moisture wicking socks packed... That is one thing I did splurge on for this trip - instead of normal cotton socks, I spent the extra on the moisture wicking... I hope they work?

**********************************************************

OK - on to the photos... Sorry about all of these "series"... My favorite guy!!! He was so nice to sign all of our bags! Gotta love Donald! The first ones are the ones Josh took - the last ones are PHotopass ones.

I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend!

D~

I always take a sweatshirt or hoodie and a pair of capris or longer pants with me. It doesn't matter where we go. If I don't have them with me, that's when I'll need them the most. I always have a sweatshirt or hoodie on the plane because I'm usually cold, too.

I think it's always wise to have at least one long sleeved something and a longer pair of pants.

And it just hit me...if you book before you leave WDW, you might get to use a bounce back offer.

and my exciting news: I FINISHED A SEWING PROJECT LAST NIGHT:cool1:
Admittedly, it's just Sew Spoiled's free Pouch Cubed, so it was straight from cut to complete last night, but it's finished and I got to sew!! I also found the camera, so I'll probably post some pictures on the disboutique thread later this evening or tomorrow.

Sometimes you just have to take a break...I would have gotten to that point last night if the pouch was any more complicated - but that's because I was stubborn. I needed to change the needle but just wanted to finish something so I didn't. So my machine started acting up - of course.

Good luck with everything and I can't wait to see your bag. Your RL conversation sounds like DH - he's always trying to get me to make myself something because I'm always making things for others.

OK - I seriously LOVE how this one turned out!!! I love all the fabrics together - it's just soooo Disney and Mickey!!! I couldn't be happier with it!
