Glad the auction was a success had no doubt whatsoever that it would be So I was going through the computer to see if there were any "fanny pack/ water bottle pictures" haunting my life and ......






No water bottle though 1996 tenth anniversary (boy were we fit)

I apologize that I don't have time to respond individually at the moment...

I am so exhausted... We have had intense storms for 2 nights in a row and I have not slept well at all. Thankfully no damage here - I have been in 2 tornadoes in my lifetime, and I am quite scared of storms. So, I was up most of the last 2 nights making sure we didn't need to go to the basement.

So, this is going to be one big huge Bag/Trip ramble and how they all tie together.

I am still in a little bit of shock over how well my auctions did. I honestly did not expect everything to sell. I had a certain goal I had to make to pay off our trip, and I made extra items to sell so I would make that goal.

My bare minimum goal was to make enough to pay off our trip - which right now is booked as a room/dining trip only (no park tickets). My second goal was to pay off our trip and make some $$ to go towards our park tickets.

When I added up all of my sales from the auction, I made enough to pay off our trip AND purchase the entire balance of our park tickets + $10 to spare! To say I am thrilled is just an understatement.

As I am sure that Suzi and Mo will tell you - I have been nothing short of a maniac for the last few weeks, stressing over this auction and if anything will sell... I am not sure I will ever do an auction again where my final trip payment is dependant on it - it was just too stressful for me.

In the end - I could not be more thrilled with the results and I am still shocked that EVERYTHING sold... That in itself is almost a bigger accomplishment...

There are a few items that went a LOT higher than I thought they would. And there are a few items that went a LOT lower than I thought they would. But it all came out in the wash...

So... My trip plans over the next few weeks...

On Thursday - bff and I are going Gift Card shopping (and grocery shopping) - Where I will purchase a TON of GCs - enough to pay off our trip and purchase our park tickets. My pay off date for our trip is July 6th, but I need to have it done before 4th of July week...

The next items on our list to purchase... in this order...

*Photopass +... $150.00
*OOP food... $250.00 (I know that sounds like a lot, since we are on DDP - but remember we are doing CRT and I have to pay for 2 TS meals OOP)
*Tips... $100.00
*Baggage fees... $150.00
*Dessert Party... $75.00
*Water Park... $150.00

Total... $875

So, I still have a TON of $$ to come up with... I figure I might be able to pull about $300 out of our budget. I also have July's auction - I don't know how much that will bring in (or even what it is yet) - but I usually average about $150-$200 on those... August's auction another $150-$200 (which it looks like I will have to do)... and my City pay check - which should be about $200. Which gives me... $800.

A lot of the above mentioned items can be paid for with Disney GCs... So I should JUST BARELY come screeching in under the wire for finances. It is going to be close. I am very glad that my auctions did as well as they did - as I think I am just barely going to make it.

If I wanted to... I *could* put this on a credit card, but IMO - that defeats the purpose of a vacation - I have never come home from vacation with debt from it, and I hope I never have to do so.

Rather than posting a water bottle photo today - I have decided to do something a bit more fun...

The other day - Mo asked me how many Dismeets I have done. Well - quite honestly Mo - I have no idea... But I have speant the last few days trying to assemble all of my Dismeet photos - because you know... "A Dismeet didn't happen if you don't have photos to prove it..."

So.... Here we go...

Would you believe, I did not meet my first Diser until our trip last March? And guess who the very first Diser I ever met was???

It was Liddy!!! Some of you may remember Liddy? She doesn't post here very much any more, but she is due to have a baby in August... The girls and I still chat with her on FB all the time. Anyways - I don't have any photos of that first Dismeet, but I do have a photo of the Dismeet we did the following night...

Through out our March trip - we had several other Dismeets...

Tinkbelle13 and her DH - they had just driven down from Canada this day...

There were 3 other Disers I met on my last WDW trip.. But sadly, no photos... Childatheart82 (whom we met at 50's PT), MerissaAndMomLoveDis (she approached me in the food court because she recognized my bag), and April (MinnieVanMom).

Then, last August - I flew out to Charlotte, NC for a HUGE Disboutiquers Dismeet and a weekend of Fabric Shopping... On this trip - I met soooo many Disers, I am not even sure I will get all their Dis names right? I also became very close with a few of these Diser too...

Marianne (MPhalens), Liz (babynala), Beth (Blyssful)...

We met Blessedmom4, VBAndrea & mommy2mrb... Also in this photo - their kids and Marianne, Liz, Beth and I...

Then the following morning we met... Ummm... Everyone??? L to R: Marianne (Mphalens), Jill (not sure of her Disname), Nicole (mommyof2princesses), Kristen (mkwj), Jennifer (DisneyTeacher01), Liz (Babynala), Mr. Charlie, Jessica (Jessica52877), Tammy (Disname?), D~ (Dmgeurts), Kim (The Moonk's Mom), and Beth (Blyssfull).

Then - this is where it gets a little fuzzy... Maybe Liz can help me out??? The following photo has the above people + a few more??? I know Amber (ambergreenawalt) is added in this group - otherwise, I think everyone else is named above somewhere.

This one is L to R: Kristin (mkwj), Liz (babynala), Marianne (mphalens), me, Beth (blyssful)... So - all of these people are named above, but it was a cute pic, so I had to post.

Then I met Flora (PurpleEars) at the MOA before Christamas...

And I also met Rachel (Mom2_3girls) at the MOA...However, we were in a lot of the same parks on the same days in March 2012, but we could never coordinate a meet...

Then, of course... Suzi (solana131) and Mo (chicagomo)...

So, I think that's it? I know it seems like a lot - but I know of so many people who have met many more Disers... I am so excited that I have more planned for this trip.

Which brings my final count to: 26??? If I counted correctly?

Good morning! Sorry to hear about all the storms and not getting much sleep...but thankful for no tornadoes and that everyone is safe. We have had a few tornadoes close by (surrounding counties and/or other parts of the city) over the last few years. We've decided that's too close for us. Wayne wants to sell our house and move JUST to have a basement and then he wants to have an in basement storm shelter installed as well. Is there such a thing as being TOO safe?

Congratulations on all of your auctions. I'm happy that you made enough money to pay for so much of your trip! I will say that I am NOT surprised that everything sold...your bags and accessories are AMAZING and anyone is lucky to own one! I will say that I was shocked at how high some of the bidding got on a few items, but also a little surprised at a few of the items that went for less. Like you sid though...it's all a wash!

WOW!!! I don't even know what to say to all your DISmeets. So far I have only had 1 DisMeet and that was on my Oct 2011 trip. I had hoped to have some on my trip this year, but it seems like so many of the Oct. people are canceling or changing their dates!

So I have been missing, but for a good reason, we were at Disney! We had the best time. Thinking of doing a TP to show photos of the outfits I did get finished. I did not get everything done. So next trip, sewing will begin next week, to have enough time.

Sorry to hear about your lack of sleep due to storms. We own a house with no basement, so it is extra scary for me as well. We should build a storm shelter, and I should really look into this. We won't be in this house for forever, so hate to put money into it, but this would make me feel better. Last storm we were out of town and the house 5 houses away had a tree uprooted, luckily it didn't hit anything.

Love the photos! I saw a Fanny pack in the park on someone, and for a moment, while lugging my backpack, I thought, you know, I wish I had one.

And so scary about the teen driver. Good thing you heard the wheels and put a stop to it before something bad happened. I don't even trust my DH sometimes, so I'm sure I'll be the same way. I worked in a traumatic brain injury rehab, many patients were from car accidents, and those accidents can be life changing, very scary. So, good for you for being proactive!!

And congrats on your auctions! I can't believe you worry. Your bags are amazing, in high demand, and always sell. Glad you were able to get more than expected. Looking forward to more pictures soon.

I am so happy for you that you have met your payoff goal! How did your daughter do? Perhaps she needs do to a mini auction of just lanyards before your trip? Perhaps a Stitch themed one???? OR Marie? just hinting not so subtly.

I am sorry you had such sleep loss from the storms. We get a lot of hurricane close calls around here in the fall. Once in a while a tornado, or more commonly a "mini burst" will run through. It is very scary. We do have an old dungy basement that I always insist we hide in. but it happens seldom in my direct area. Thank God. The blizzard & hurricanes are enough.

Not trying to scare anyone just forewarn..as I am standing outside with true locals in my area and the sweat is pouring off our faces their consensus is this will be record breaking heat this summer ..remember what I said way back when for those that don't usually come here in the summer

PLEASE look into the Frogg Togg chilli pads I recommended (I only went out to get the mail didn't think I would be having a 1/2 hr conversation or would have had it on) HIGHEST SPF sunblock you can find (Bull Frog I think ?) and YES that water bottle no matter how bad it looks in pictures

Ummm... Our dream house has a basement with a storm shelter drawn in. So, no - I don't feel that's "too safe" at all.

Our current house has a "storm shelter" in the basement - sort of. Our house was built in 1886, so it was designed with a cistern under the basement... So, in our basement we have a door which opens up to this... It is 100% under ground and water proof/made of brick/cement... All the neighbors know that if a bad storm comes through - that is where to look for my family and I. It's very creepy down there... Reminds me of a crypt...

Exactly... I struggle so much with giving my girls some freedom... DH and the girls always tease me for being so over protective... but I really can't help it...

It's OK - I understand perfectly. I don't mind meeting people in the parks too much... and if I meet them elsewhere - it is always in a public place.

Thanks Dee... Gosh - I forgot to update on V's goal - I can't believe I did that! So, her last set of auctions, she made $55... This set of auctions, she made $40.50... So - the original deal was that she had to pay for half of CRT which would be $107. And she has made $95.50, so she is only $12 away from her goal - which in my book is close enough. Because we are on DDP, I will use that $$ to buy GCs to help pay for our 2 OOP meals, because those are cheaper combined than paying for CRT oop. If that makes any sense? LOL

OK - you know this is a HUGE concern for me... So, I went to their website... I did not order yet -but I am seriously considering it. I don't know if the girls would actually wear them? But if it gets hot enough out - maybe?

I have regular 50spf sunscreen for our trip - it's the sport kind - so waterproof/sweatproof...

Still thinking I am going to order some Gatorade through Walmart and have it delivered to our resort... And I will make it a "rule" that the girls must order the Powerade with their meals, rather than soda.

Does anyone know if they sell bottles of Powerade at the CS restaurants? We always just order fountain soda - but if we could get bottles of Powerade that way with our DDP - it would make life a little easier. I know they have them in the coolers at the resort food courts - just wondering about the CS places in the parks...

Yesterday I had to take Alli up to BFF's house... Have I told you all recently that I LOVE my bff??? She is definately a 2nd mom to my girls, and I am so lucky to have her!

Anyways... Alli needs a new swimsuit or two this year, and we have been arguing for months over what is appropriate/inappropriate for her to wear - aside for the fact that we need something "dependable" for the water park portion of our trip. I had purchased her a top from Lands End last year (but not bottoms), she refuses to wear it - it's too "old lady" looking... Um.. Thanks?

Now we are down to the wire - summer is here, she doesn't have a swimsuit, and now we MUST find one asap.

After talking aboot it the other night - and having it turn into a semi-argument again... I had her call BFF and ask HER to take Alli swimsuit shopping... She agreed. PHEW!!! Disaster averted - for me anyways. So, they headed off to the MOA yesterday in search of a "sporty" swimsuit and a "fun" swimsuit. I gave BFF all of my piramiters, and wished them luck. Alli spent the night there last night, so I am kind of anxious to see what they found.

I finished my custom order bag yesterday afternoon... Whoot! I will be posting pictures of that one today. I will also be posting photos of my other recent custom orders - I did not want to post them while I was doing auction stuff, for fear that someone would think a custom order was actually an auction item.

Then... SUPER EXCITED... I started Alli's custom bag for our trip... She is only getting ONE - but it will be EPIC!!! I've been chomping at the bit for months, anxiously wanting to dive into it in my spare time - which I have had none of. Honestly - I hope to finish it by Wednesday, so I can get started on V's bag, before I have to go back to working on custom orders again. As long as I can get their trip bags done - I will feel so much better. Then I will start on mine, doing the most important one first and progressing along... Two of them are "must haves' for this trip, and the rest are "if I have the time"... Hopefully I have the time. LOL

So, today - I will be working on Alli's bag all day... I plan to finish up quilting it - then I will start stitching the applique. I cut her applique out weeks ago, because I knew it would be a difficult one to cut - I am very glad I did, because it took me over 4 hours to draw it/cut it/piece it together... So, that will make it so much easier now.

2-I was so hoping you would leave the plans for BB but didn't think I shouldn't tell you about the TL thing wanted you to make that decision...glad you made the RIGHT one

So... Where on your body exactly do you wear these? And would it be better for me to cut them the other way - so I could get 3 towels out of one? Each would then be 11"x13"...

Do you drape them over your shoulders like a towel? Do you stuff them in your pants/bra???

Froggs I bought a few of these the other day & plan to cut them 1/2 per Ruthie's instruction. I was amazed at how quickly they cool you off by just draping them over you neck like a towel. AMAZING! My older kids are a little freeked out by the texture of them. We are a weird family that way. But, I know come August in FL, they will all be fighting for them.

So... I have been anxiously awaiting this bag for a while now, I have had the theme in my head forever - I am super happy with how it turned out!

What I love most about this bag is that it's "reversible" - or at least as reversible as I can make something. From the front - you can't see the back, and switch it around then you have another bag... So it's "almost" a 2fer.
