okay lady have you been nipping at the eggnog ? perhaps accidently ate some holly berries ?Inhaled some of Eeyores' stuffing ? there has to be a reason for your nonsense thinking ! Your thread is my guilty pleasure, no Desperate Housewives, Jersey Shore, or Housewives of, this I affectionately think of as LCWOD........Lovely Creative Women of Dis....a friendly place to share plans, discuss family, and make new friends..many I hope to meet
may have started as your PTR but it is so much more and we all are invested in each oher now so no don't change anything EXCEPT maybe morphing into a permanent thread like the Dis Dads let them have their bacon smelling man caves

We are LCWOD !
LOL - Thanks Ruthie... I hope you're having a good week! Did you have fun going to WDW last weekend?
ARE YOU KIDDING! look how beautiful it is!!!!!!!
LOVE dogs in the snow.. ya know what. Forget it. See you in about.... what is it??? 6hours camera in hand....

you know how I feel about the Jack bag. i'm in LOVE!!! I love the pintrest kitchens... Wish i could help more..
LOL Thanks Mo! I made extra meat loaf for dinner last night - I thought I might have some company???
good luck on the remodel decision!
MM looks like one happy boy in the snow!
new bag is very cute!
my vote for the stockings is the brighter colors!
Thanks Lisa... Yah - I can't believe how much MM loves the snow, he is begging to to outside at all hours, because he just wants to play.
Sounds like a great way to spend the day!

I agree!

We let the kids watch Christmas Story on Friday night for the first time or should I say "made them watch". I'm always a little nervous that the Christmas movies will ruin some of the Christmas magic for the kids. Curtis made me nervous because he told me he was going to ask Santa for a zeppelin like Randy got on Christmas morning. Luckily when he saw Santa on Saturday he asked for an art set. I have a feeling Santa's elves would have trouble making a zeppelin. At least he didn't ask for a Red Rider BB Gun.
LOL I agree - I worry about Christmas movies too... If it makes you feel any better... V was a believer until she was 11...

I am not sure how we pulled it off for so long? Every year, we told ourselves that "we'd tell them next year" because they'd be ready... Then next year would come and they still genuinely believed, so we pulled it off for another year... Before we knew it - she was in middle school and still believing.

We figured it was time... so when we finally told her... Um-yah - she was very mad... big ol' crocodile tears and all. So, this is only our 2nd Christmas with out "Santa" - but we will do stockings and a few gifts from him.
Cheryl - love these in the plaid fabric.
D~ I'm not going to say how great I think your latest bag is or comment about how much I like how you incorporated the FF fabric on the applique because I don't want you to stop updating on all the things going on in your life.
LOL OK - I get it everyone... I will keep updating. I just don't want to bore anyone to death, so I thought I would throw it out there.
MM looks like he was having a grand old time in the snow. Bummer that school was not even delayed. Growing up my dad was in charge of the buses and was one of the people that decided if there would be school or not. It was nice because we were always one of the first ones to know if school was cancelled. We would stay tucked in our beds and wait for the phone to ring in hopes that school was cancelled. Of course that was before the internet and all my friends would have to get up to listen to the radio.
LOL... Yah - we live in one of those school districts that doesn't ever delay school... They tend to go with what the major suburbs do - but sometimes I don't think they realize how bad it gets out here? We have borders in 4 different districts in our town (or with in a mile of it) - and all 3 of the others can close because it's so bad out here, but the girls' doesn't change. I am always a nervous wreck on those days.
I think the idea of the stockings and tree skirt is great. The writing on the trees sounds like a great way to incorporate the writing. I can't decide which stocking style I like best. But the elf style would look great with the fabrics/colors you are planning on using. Let me know if you need me to look around any of the local stores here for the fabric you need. I've been trying to avoid all fabric stores but I will risk a visit for you (LOL). Of course I'm sure the prices are higher then fabric.com.
Thanks Liz.

Well, I have a few yards of the Funky Christmas fabric from Michael Miller, and I was also able to get the Christmas Lottiedots - I am doing lots of the Michael Miller Ta Dots as accents - so since most of the Funky Christmas fabric is gone, I can still get my hands on the Ta Dots if necessary??? Then, of course, the main fabric is the White Kona - which will always be available, so I think I will be OK. I hope.
As for your kitchen, I really like the last plan you came up with. I think it makes the most sense not to over-build. At least you know you have some time to work on it since you have to do the floor and even if you change your minds and decide to sell, having a floor that doesn't dip would be good for resale. I like how you added the laundry near the garage. You might want to see if you can eliminate those cabinets over the peninsula, especially if you will be sitting there to eat. We redid the kitchen in our old house and eliminated the cabinets between the kitchen the family room and it really opened up the space. We didn't really loose any cabinet space because we put in the taller cabinets. You could do an inventory and figure out how much cabinet space you will actually need. Building the new kitchen was a great excuse to toss all those tupperware containers that are missing the lids.

I'm sure you will consider lots of different layouts once / if you get going on this project.
I totally agree... I did remove those cabinets above the peninsula shortly after I uploaded that last rendition... I think I would like to have an intigrated wine rack - I know this sounds bad, but we have so many wine bottles in our fridge (it's rare that we drink it) but we always seem to have them in there, just in case. So, it would just be very nice to have a dedicated spot for them.
And in looking at my drawings, I am afraid we won't have much space? I would love to have floor to ceiling pantries across that whole refridgerator wall, but we have that window there that we don't want to lose.
Our house is in dire need of a new kitchen but our floors are in bad shape too and I need to figure out what to do with those before we start the kitchen and I'm not looking forward to dealing with that so I am procrastinating!!! Plus Dan is working on insulating our attic so until the 60 rolls of insulation he bought are installed I don't even want to start thinking about another project.
Hope you enjoying your snowy day and keeping warm.
I know how you feel, we have sooo many half finished projects - it drives me crazy. I need to make a list, and really get vigilent about getting them done.
I love the doggie in the snow pics - they really have a great time in the snow, don't they? And that Jack Skellington bag is amazing! You are really talented
Thanks! Yah - MM loves the snow, he is one crazy dude!
I haven't been around much thanks to getting caught up a work from my Disney trip and trying to get all of my Christmas shopping done so I have a bit to comment on. Hope I don't forget anything!
Happy to have you home, hope you are able to get caught up really soon!
First of all, please don't stop posting about your RL. I love reading it everyday. I've thought about doing the same on my thread but it would be went to work, came home, ate, watched TV, went to bed. And then repeat it all the next day. Yes, my life is boring!
LOL That's how mine is too, but you all seem to love it?
I love the idea of the signatures for the tree skirt and the poster that suggested one side plain and one side signatures is a great idea. I have a ceramic Christmas tree that a friend made me. She signed the base and it makes me smile every year when I put it out. I actually liked the plain stockings better but it seems like most people liked the elf ones best.
Thanks! I love those ceramic christmas trees - we used to have one when I was little. I agree, I just can't decide which stockings to do???
As for the home renovations, I am no help there at all! Jim took down the towel rack in the bathroom because it was falling off the wall. Two weeks later and neither of us can figure out how to put it back up.

Yes we are fix-it challenged. I'm thinking of going to
Walmart or Target to get a free standing towel rack so I can get our towels off of the door handles.
I shouldn't have LOLed at your dillema, but I did - because I can so see this happening to a friend of ours too. I hope you are able to get your towel situation resolved.
The dog/snow pictures are so cute. My current three don't like rain or snow. Luckily in GA we only get a dusting now and then. When we had Haley (I have her stocking hanging with her ashes just like you have with Rufus) and lived in Erie, PA she loved the snow. We would get up to three feet sometimes and she, despite only being 18 pounds, would bound right out in it. She loved the snow so much that Jim would throw her (as long as the snow was deep enough) out into the snow and she would come right back for him to do it again!
This made me chuckle too... Very similar to when Josh throws the girls into the lake, I suspect...
Last but not least, love the Nightmare Before Christmas bag. The wallet is my favorite part. I've never seen that movie. I have it on video but have never gotten around to watching it. Maybe over Christmas break I will finally get to it.
Thanks... I have only seen bits and parts of that movie, I've never sat down and watched the whole thing. The girls have seen it a million times though - so I have "heard" the whole thing, just not seen it.
Absolutely love the new bag, it is my new favorite.
My list keeps getting longer and longer so I can relate.
Thanks Chiara!
I personally think that canceling your Dec. auction might be a good thing...you do need time to do things for your own family! I would love to see your stuff, but you do realize that the 20th is TEN days away???!!!!
Just my two cents. Your stuff is AWESOME! I hope one day to own something
~Jennifer
PS I meant all of this in the nicest way possible

(plus people might be broke on the 20th....just sayin')
Thanks Jennifer - now that you say that... Um - yah - there is no way I am going to have anything ready in 10 days. Gulp! Thanks for talking me back to reality.
D love all your designs for you kitchen. We remodeled ours 8 years ago and the only must was DH needed to put in a double oven for me.
I know Josh wants a double oven - but I jsut have no idea how we would fit that in here too?
And as always love your newest bag
Thanks Michelle!
No... I love reading about all your ramblings So please don't stop.
LOL - OK, I will continue to ramble.
I have not, but I plan to go look at it this morning.
Love the Jack bag! How cool that it goes over the pond!
Thanks Tink!
Love how much fun MM looked like he was having playing in the snow!!
The new Jack bag turned out great. Even cooler that your sending it to Europe.
I love the elf stockings and the idea of the tree skirt. It's always nice to have something that a lot of thought was put into and personalized like that.
Thanks Sandra! I just hope they like it... They seems to genuinely LOVE the wedding gift I made for them, so I think they would like this too.
I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I now remember that you said it was fabric.com I looked, I really need to order myself some!
I hope you got it ordered Erin!

Another crazy day yesterday!
I ended up being at the dentist much longer than anticipated. I had some extra cleaning that needed to be done.

By the time I got home, my mouth was quite sore, so I took some ibuprofen and took a nap. I am glad I did that, because I had City Council last night - and the meeting ran until almost 11 PM - I never would have made it that late with out the nap.
I plan to head up to my sewing room right away this morning. I really hope to work hard and get caught up today. I feel like I am totally dragging, and can't get caught up. I will be very happy to have a few weeks off during Christmas - even though I will be in my sewing room most of that time, it will be time spent on things that I want to make, vs. things that need to be made. I have found that I really need that unstructured time up there, otherwise I just don't work well when I need to.
Tonight is V's Christmas Choir concert. I love the holiday concerts the best, so I am very excited to see it.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day today.
D~
