We went in August of 2004 the 19 - 29. I would do it again, but my husband says "no way". The minute we left our resort we were drippy with sweat. You kind of get used to the humidity, though. Most of the rides/attractions at MK,Epcot and MGM are indoors and airconditioned. We had the most trouble with the AK. It is so spread out and too much outdoor stuff. The walkways are between big, wet, humid plants and you really don't get any breeze and just feel like you can't get air. If I take my kids this year, I will not be doing AK. At one point, I really felt like I just couldn't take another step.
We aren't particularly early risers -especially on vacation, and I know people say to get to the parks early etc. (which we did not do) but with the new EMH in the evenings, though, we would be OK in August - even better than last year beause they did not have any E nights that late in August. Overall the crowds were really not that bad. When it rained the parks just cleared out. We actually hoped for rain!! Get those Disney ponchos and go for it!!
