Attraction Plan for 1 Year Old

These are some of the rides/shows/attractions we were thinking of trying on our next visit. DH and I have been to WDW 4 times but this is our first visit with our DS who will be just a week shy of 21 months during our trip. This trip is for us to soak up the amosphere after an almost 3 year hiatus. We will take it at DS's pace. We may occassionally use baby swap but since we have already done all the big rides that is not a requirement. Enjoying our time introducing DS to our favorite place is the priority! DS is generally (at least now) a pretty easy-going kind of kid who does not seem to scare too easily but I know that can change in the next 6 months. Based on his current/like dislikes this is what I was thinking.

WWTBAM (my DH's favorite but I am concerned about DS sittig through it - may not be very entertaining for him?)

Flights of Wonder show
Train to Conservation Station
Triceratop Spin? (the dinosaur ride like Dumbo)
Boneyard playground
Afternoon parade

Is there anything I left out? Comments/suggestions are very much appreciated. I am really worried about taking him somewhere he will hate and then us having lots of problems for the rest of the trip.

What a cute picture! You'll all have a great time and your son will be entertained by just watching all the people - don't feel like you have to constantly be on a ride.

My comments: I'd skip HM and Pirates this trip. We took our 15 mo. old son on pirates last Oct. and he cried most of the way. The first drop in the dark did him in, and then it didn't help that you come out into the middle of the pirate boat battle. We were in the first row of the boat and I felt like everyone was thinking I was a horrible Mom for subjecting him to this ride. We went on Small World 3x after that out of guilt.

Next trip (this Nov.) I'd like to try Tom Sawyer's island with him - heard that was fun. Also, we had my son's first haircut at the barbershop on Main. St. They did a great job and we got lots of cute stuff (certificate, many stickers, Mickey ears hat w/ "First Haircut" embroidered on it, etc.).

In Epcot, don't forget the boat ride in Mexico, I think the little guys would like that too.

Above all, use the Baby Centers in each park and leave in the afternoon for a swim and a nap.

wow, pretty good plan...

Only thing I saw missing that our DD loved was the Alladin Carpet ride at MK and the Honey I shrunk the Kids play area at MGM.

He will probably change a good bit in 6 months. He may be a little more cautious, so start with the really easy rides and work your way up. We did WDW with an 18 month old, and she rode most everything you listed. She even enjoyed Snow White, Haunted Mansion, and Pirates at that age. Now, a year later those three were another story! When Snow White freaked her out we didn't even try HM or Pirates. We did the Great Movie Ride and just distracted her when the alien was coming out. She liked the millionaire show because of the buttons to push.

Just sit near an exit in shows and don't be afraid to walk out. Have fun and take tons of photos!!

Plan looks good ... We took my DS for the first time at the same age. He had a blast, just make sure you give him time to stretch his legs and blow off steam. My son loved all of the playgrounds (Toontown & Honey I shrunk @ Epcot) and especially getting wet in the fountains. Make sure you carry an extra set of clothes. Have fun and enjoy. That trip was by far my best trip to Disney ever! There is nothing like seeing Disney through the eyes of a child.
