Attention those with Delta reservations!

This is really making me nervous. We are flying for the first time in February. I am already very nervous about putting out that much money ahead of time that I can not get back if something goes wrong and we are unable to go. I looked at our flights yesterday and it looked like we are the only two with reserved seats on the whole flight!? No I guess I need to worry about them canceling the flight.

Our flights are also with Delta. I can't tell you how many times (since the end of Jan.) our flights have been changed. Flights numbers, times, connecting cities...you name it and it's changed. The only thing that has bothered me was losing 5 hours on our last day. That was a major upset. When I called to complain about that, I said I wanted the latest possible flight out. Done...or so I thought. A later flight showed up a few weeks later. I called again and was told not to worry about that flight because it was being dumped from the schedule. IT IS STILL ON THEIR WED SITE!! I've decided I'm not calling them again. Well maybe.... ;)

I always check my reservation periodically because I book so early I know it's bound to change here and there but I've been checking even more since they filed bankruptcy.

So far my flights have only had the normal 10 - 15 minute changes for the past few months.

I think because I'm going the day after Thanksgiving and it full I won't have to worry about that one being canceled. I'm just a tad more worried about the flight home but still no major changes.

I'll continue to check it once a week.

I flew Delta Song on 10/01 and again on 10/05 to and from Orlando. There were no changes. I did check to confrirm especially because of some fog alerts and tropical storm Tammy. :sunny:

We are going the end of February and I booked the flights a few months ago as I had Frequent Flyer miles I wanted to use. I booked with Northwest but we are actually flying with Delta. Couldn't get into Orlando either so we are flying in to Gainsville and renting a car (heading to Fort Myers first anyway so no big deal to save $700). Anyway. I bought 2 tickets with our Frequent Flyer miles and 2 tickets for the kids that we paid for. They had to do separate transactions but linked the 2 reservations together. So, the other day I get an e-mail that the reservation had changed. No big deal they always do that. So, I printed out both reservations from the website and looked them over to see what the difference was. Well, lo and behold they changed plans on the one itinerary but not on the other. So, they had me and my husband on one flight and my 6 and 4 year old on another flight at a different time. I spent 1-1/2 hours on the phone with them last week trying to get this cleared up and back on the same plane. It took some doing but it was done. I'm just waiting to see how many other times this happens until we leave.

Does anyone know a particular phone number/time to call, etc. to avoid being transferred to the call centers in India? I have tried to handle business on the regular toll-free number several times and find it very frustrating as the person on the other end of the line does not understand my requests. I have to constantly repeat myself or spell things out (literally) to get the correct info. I'm an open-minded, patient person -- but this it really starting to annoy me!

They moved my flight forward 3 hours. This has created a BIG problem for me. Now I have to leave work early and teachers are NOT allowed to take a personal day or half of a personal day before a vacation and naturally mine is before a vacation!!!
Big problems!

How can I check the status of the flight online? I tried on Delta's website but I could only find where I could check for today or tomorrow.

on the home page, I think.. there is a place to check flights for the next day or two.. right behind there is a "tab" that says "check itinerary" or something to that effect. That's where I just checked for our flight in Dec.

If you have a frequent flier (Skymiles) number, you can log into your account and check 'my itineraries'. It will have the old flights listed as "changed" and the new one listed as "confirmed". If not, go through the motions of booking a flight. When I tried that, plugging in the time that I knew I had purchased for, there was nothing available. It doesn't tell you what flight you've been changed to, but if they're still selling seats on your flight, chances are you're safe... for now.

Our flight back home has been changed to a completely different plane! so no seats are assigned to us on that one. when i try to edit our itinery it doent pull that new flight up so I can't edit it or assign seats. am I going to have to call Delta to do that? thanks! I've been checking the websites every few days. it drives me crazy like the rest of ya'll!

Unfortunately, yes, you do have to call. When they make the seats unassigned the only way to get confirmed seats again is to call.

Well, my Dec 2 flight out of Boston just changed by 1 minute yet again and I have unassigned seats. This is getting rediculous.

Our flight out of Boston has changed 2x's for our 12/7 flight. We were first leaving at 5:55am, then changed to 6:30, now ( as of last week) it leaves at 8:00. We hope it will not change again, we like leaving early so that you really can get most of the day in at the park. Keeping our fingers crossed. :goodvibes

It's not just Delta, both my United flights have changed due to resheduling. I have a 6.30 am flight, the next available was 10.30, no one going to WDW between those hours???...go figure.

I've been on hold for half an hour!!!

My flight home has changed so many times that I've lost count! What bugs me is the last two times it went from a return time of 9:45p to 9:46p and now back to 9:45p  and now my seats are unassigned again!

One of the times they changed the flight I lost my seats in row 5 only to be given row 25 so I'm going to stay on hold till they answer it!

Delta has been doing this way too much lately. I know that they're currently in a bad financial state, but this is just poor customer service. They need to retain every customer that they have, rather than risk losing more. They have already lost my business due to changes I wasn't notified about nor agreed to, lets see how many others they lose

The original flights I booked are no longer in service. Now, they have even changed the time of the NEW flight! They keep making my arrival time earlier and earlier. This is going to make getting the dogs to the kennel a major time crunch! Grrr. If I'd wanted the crack of dawn flight, I would have choosen that one in the first place.
