Attention all MNSSHPers

I spoke with my event planner that I mentioned in a previous post. She stated that while she had been in contact with the executive offices at the MK, she was not, at this point, going to say that things are set in stone. Right now, as we all now, the park hours are listed until 7. She said that there are still discussions that are ongoing, esp considering the amount of email and snail mail letters that are voicing displeasure over the change.

She said that if she hears that the park hours (for the day guests) are going to change, then she will get in touch with me.

Hope this is a sign of something positive coming from our emails!

Nice to know that they might be listening! Thanks!

I emailed a couple of days ago and got this response(if that's what you want to call it)
Dear Tara,

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.

You will be happy to know that all guests attending Mickey's Not So
Scary Halloween Party will be wearing a wristband. Any guest without
the wrist band will be asked to leave the park.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact
us.

Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number if
applicable on all correspondence.

Thank you!

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Sincerely,

Debbie Grant

PLEASE NOTE: All information is subject to change without notice.

I'm sending another now.

Geesh...what a response, or lack thereof. Can someone please clear up this whole 4 o'clock entry. From my understanding you could always get in at 4 before, and I also know they have dining add-ons for the party and some of tthose ADR times are early. I hAve an ADR at the Grand, but would be willing to change it if I could get in earlier. Someone please clarification....we go on the 15th, so I will report here my experiance.

All the email responses I'm reading only talk about the wristbands. We already know that. Why aren't they addressing the closing time?

After becoming aware of this issue just this morning (sorry out of the loop) I immediately wrote my email. MNSSHP is a HUGE part of my Disney addiction and do not want to have it affected. A copy of my email is below:

To Whom it May Concern:

I have written and spoken with wonderful Cast Members on several occasions. It is my opinion that the Walt Disney Company values the opinions of it's guests and takes approprate strides to accomodate and address any concerns.

Having said this, I am DEEPLY concerned about the proposed (or already confirmed) changes taking affect with this years Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. We attended our first MNSSHP in Oct. 2005 and enjoyed it SO much that I have vowed never to miss another. We even purchased Disney Vacation Club knowing this event alone would warrant the DVC purchase.

I have read on a board that I belong to, that the procedure for getting non-ticket holders out of the Magic Kingdom on MNSSHP nights has changed. From what I understand, there will be no strict enforcement to keep non-ticketed guests out of the park in a decent amount of time.

As a paying guest for this event I am sincerely hoping this proposed change does not take affect. I pay the money for this "Hard Ticket" event to gain access to "Special" events and the privilige of having less guests in the park during this time. To have less stringent policies regarding non-ticketed guests would COMPLETELY ruin this event for me and my family. In my opinion, the old policies were already lacking any strict enforcement, this will only magnify the problem.

I would appreciate a response to this email and am Extremely concerned about this proposed change. I am hopeful you will reconsider this and offer a better thought out plan to ensure those paying for this event are the ONLY ONES who enjoy it.

Without enforcement, I would see no reason for us to purchase these tickets in the future. If everyone else can have these perks without paying for them, then so shall I.

Thank you for your attention,
Sincerley
Blah..blah..blah..

I emailed and specifically asked how they are going to remove non-ticketholders from the park. I pointed out that I don't intend to do rides, but due to my tendency to have panic attacks in large crowds I usually cannot see the parades and this event opened up this possability for me. We'll se e if I get the same cookie cutter answer...I'm assuming it's a "form email". popcorn::

Just an observation, but after checking the September calendar, MK is scheduled to close at 6 on the 8'th and 9'th for Nights of Joy, a hard ticket event that doesn't start until 7:30. So they can close an hour and a half early for that, but can't close early for other hard ticket events? :confused3

Just a quick reminder to those who are emailing...please remember to keep the facts straight when emailing them. Disney is not saying they will allow day guests who haven't purchased the MNSSHP ticket to stay. The issue at hand is that the park is closing at the exact same time as the party begins, which will make it difficult to clear out day guests in an effective way.

I just wanted to make sure that was clear so people are not emailing them while pointing fingers for something they didn't say would happen.

Did it. I was short, sweet and to the point. Keeping my fingers crossed since I planned to enter the park at 5:30PM to make the most of the evening.

Thanks, everyone, for keeping on things like this.

I got the generic response that they would contact me if they felt to need. Also that I could check the WDW website to see if it would answer any of my questions. Well if the website would answer my questions than I wouldn't have needed to send my email.(DUH DUH) I let you know if i do get any response. I asked about the closing of the park to get all the NON TICKET holders out and if we could enter the park before 7:00pm with our party ticket. I have ADRS at The Crystal Palace at 5:00pm for dinner. When I made my ressie the CM told me I could enter the park at 4:00pm, so hopefully GUEST RELATIONS will get back with me or I'm going to be eating a CS meal at POP before the party. (YUCK)

not to get you all mad at me (please don't flame me), but i think that disney will have the event under hand- if it will be run like EMH, then anyone who doesn't have a wrist bad won't be able to go to the event- currently during EMH those who don't have a wrist band are NOT allowed on any attractions, but they are welcome in the parks to finish their shopping or to watch the nightly events- if the parks close a hour before the hard ticketed events for decorating, they will definatly be kicking the guest out that do not have a ticket before the party starts- i know you all don't have much faith in disney security or cast members, but they run the parks everyday and follow what is asked of them (yes, we've all heard horror stories about CM's but usually the angry guests blow the incidents out of porportion or something becomes hear say - like a game of telephone)- and i know the prices are a little steep for the hard ticket events and complaining comes natural with spending a lot of money on a ticket, but have a little faith in the disney system and be happy that you all will be at the event (and just keep in mind that disney won't make the hard ticket events free no matter how much complaining people do).

I only received the generic "We will contact you if needed for further review" response! I think my line about this NOT BEING PART OF A MILLION DREAMS more like a NIGHTMARE made them mad!

Oh, well...I will be dressed as the Evil Queen from Snow White and this is a professional costume that rivals the one worn by the park character, so I will be in FULL CHARACTER if non-wristbandies make me mad!!!! :stir:

I just double checked the WDW website on the event and there is this quote in the "fine print":
"Admission to this event requires a separate ticket."

That would mean that if people are allowed to attend without a seperate ticket, Disney could be compelled to refund everyone's addmission price. Persons would have been fraudulenty led to believe that they were required to purchase a ticket to an event when in reality they did not, as the parade is clearly listed as a part of this event.

Also, a "no refund" policy is not mentioned at all on the event discription page, nor were we informed of such a policy when we pre-ordered our tickets by way of the phone number listed on the site.

Now... That having been said, I'll bet it goes off without a hitch, and everybody has a great time. I believe in the legendary reputation the Walt Disney Company has earned over many years of keeping mobs of tired, cranky tourists happy to visit a hot, humid swamp. I can only hope they know what they are doing better than myself in this respect.

I sent an e-mail. We're going to be there the 24th of October.

But I never have a problem calling out people to CM's at EMH, so this won't be much different. God forbid they try to get into it with the wife.

I'm going to MVMCP on 11/30, and what I'm worried about is that it will be cooler out and alot of people will have on long sleeves. Are the CM's going to yank up everyone's sleeves to check for the wrist bands?

I am upset at the money and expense, but this type of situation bothers me a great deal. I agree that I will not enjoy the evening I pay for if every line I stand in a child is in tears and not able to stay..whether their parents did or did not know the situation. Others have mentioned people having TS in the parks around the time the party starts. Will all those people understand that they will have to leave if they don't have tickets? Or will some of them be oblivious to the whole "ticketed" event.

I went to a sold out MVMCP in 2005, Dec 18. I did not think it was at all crowded. We barely made it to the second parade and had no trouble finding a seat. If I remember correctly the tickets were numbered at 20,000 for the night. So, the first 2 hours were a bit on the crowded side trust me but after about 10 it was a great night. This was what I was hoping for this time.

I just think that it is unfair to those who have paid and those who haven't and don't know anything. We here on these boards take the time to research our trips and enjoy our time at Disney. There are plenty of families out there that go on the "ONE" big trip of a lifetime with their children and don't research anything other than calling disney reservations. Plus, I just think it adds alot of pressure on the CM's to get non ticket holders out of the park. How many arguments will there be? I am assuming many and that will totally wipe out the joy for me. I paid $40 x 9 people for FUN!

Kelly

Our family paid for 10 tickets for the Oct. 17 party. The policy Disney has now (announcing at 7 pm (the start of the party) that patrons without tickets will have to leave vs posting the closing time for MK as 6 pm on the dates of MNSSHP) is what makes it very hard to clear the park of those not holding a ticket. It also contributes to the confusion and tears of children who don't understand why they have to leave when others are staying. Long tall and short of the whole matter is Disney markets the party as a hard ticket event. It is up to them to make sure only those with tickets attend and trying to have patrons leave at the time the party begins is as we all know is a joke.

I always automatically pull up my sleeve, hold out my arm as I pass the CM. Sure would make life easier if everyone did that. I actually had one person ask me why I had a wristband on!!! I was at MK, for EMH's, it was about 30 minutes after park closing....this person was in a shop and talking to their companion about how so many people had left the park. When I held out my arm to pay, this person asked what the wristband entitled me to....ah, being in the park??!!! When I explained how EMH worked, he said to his friend..."I wonder how strict they are?"

Did you read the thread to understand what we talking about? The park closes at 7, the party starts at 7. Guests without wristbands will be asked to leave the park, that's it. If they want to go on an attraction, they'll need to show a wristband. Do you really think that will stop a number of people from staying & enjoying all the other things that the party has to offer: trick or treating, dance parties, character greetings, the special fireworks & parade?

No one wants Disney to make these events free either, but I'm not paying the high cost of the tickets if the day guests are going to be allowed to stay & I'm letting Disney know ahead of time that I won't be pleased if this occurs. While I love Disney, there are many other places I can go & spend my vacation dollars!
