Maybe visiting in the begining of January (Jan 6th-12th I think), just curious about what the attendence is like and the weather.

I'm one to freeze easily (I spend much of the summer in pants and hooded sweatshirts, even though it was in the upper 70s). Also, about what time does the temperature begin to decrease rapidly (like during April its hot during the day and then at about 7 or 8 it starts to get cold)?

The crowds are very light in January. That used to be our favorite time to go until we started going in early Dec. Now we can't go in January anymore. I will say that we have had some very cool weather in January. Everything from the upper 70's to 28 degrees one night. I tell everyone that the coldest I have ever been in my life was while at WDW once. We were frozen. We didn't prepare for the drop in temps and had to go to a mall and buy sweatshirts and ended up wearing the same clothes everyday. We live in KY and it's cold here in the winter, but I don't spend hours upon hours outside here.

Good luck:wave:

 January is traditionally one of the slowest months of the year, with the exception of MLK weekend. It is observed on a Monday & the kids are out of school.
You can usually score a nice WDW deluxe resort for a good price in January.
As far as weather, normally it's pretty chilly, but managable. I usually wear long sleeves & a light leather jacket, jeans, socks & sneakers. I carry some gloves & a scarf in my pack for after dark when the temp drops.
As your trip gets closer, go to this weather site to get a good idea how to pack. ;)

Guys, in January.. is there a lotta sun shine? or is it cloudy or overcasty?

The weather in January is always iffy. You never know what you are going to get - that is the trade off for low crowds.

We went in Jan 2001 and froze for most of the week. Well during the afternoon it would get sunny and in the low to mid 60's so we just had on jeans and a sweatshirt but at night it was COLD...we are talking freezing weather cold. I was glad we had flown from Kansas City because we had our coats, scarves and gloves with us. We have some nice pictures of us at the bus stops in the morning wearing a t-shirt with a sweatshirt over it, gloves, scarves and hats huddled together with our cups of hot chocolate...right under the palm trees. :) The day we left the temps were predicted to be in the low 80's. :)

We didn't have any rain that year but it could have been 80 and rained the whole week or even stayed very cold and dry. It is hard to pack for January - bring a little of everything and bring stuff that you can layer.

Lol! Well I'm not too worried about the cold. I'm cold when it's 80 outside. I'm just worried about if it's gonna be dark and gloomy. If its sunshining outside, I'll be cool!

We went in January 2002 and it was 80s-90's almost the entire time. We were expecting cooler weather, but it was almost the same as being there in the summer.

I was there at that time also, but, it was a fluke, not normal at all, but I LOVED IT!!!

January is not a rainy season month in FL so most days are sunny. You only have to worry if a cold front moves through. It could get very cold but it's almost always sunny at the same time.

We have went twice in Jan. The first time was around Jan. 22nd for 7 days. It was fairly crowded and very cold. One of my funniest memories of that time was a man who seemed to be of Arabian decent, down on his knees, searching and digging for Mickey winter gloves in one of the shops! I felt so sorry for him. We actually wore 2 layers of pants, ear muffs, and winter coats! And still froze! And I'm from Iowa where it's freezing all winter long!
The 2nd Jan. trip was Jan. 5th for 8 days. The first day we arrived, we took off our sweatshirts and wore T-shirts for the afternoon. We thought we were in heaven! Oh, but wait. It was freezing within 2 hours and got colder than home in Iowa! I kid you not! It was 60 degrees in Iowa and 50 degrees in Florida. Boy did the relatives back home make fun of us! Of course, when we were ready to come back to Iowa, it got warmer in Florida. There were no crowds to speak of, though. We used Fast pass a few times, but we really didn't need to, except on maybe Test Track. We drank lots of hot chocolate, wore mittens and ear muffs. Still, though, we had a good time.
