Attack of the Lakeshore Lodge

On top of that the cabins provide an opportunity for adventure while doing laundry. No where else do you have to guess after pulling the clothes out of the dryer if they will still be dry after walking/golf carting during a thunderstorm back to your cabin.
Had to laugh at this. I once got stuck at Moorea because the bottom fell out and I would have been drenched walking back to Tokelau…

lol I completely had forgotten Poly.

One trip coming back from ceremonial house to Pago Pago it was raining so hard I thought I would be smart and duck into each longhouse to avoid some of the rain and lakes that had formed on the sidewalk.
Then after getting to the first one we discovered they had activated the door locks so with the rain and DS jumping in every puddle I was quite the mess lol.

I think the whole idea of LL being part of the campgrounds is rather silly. You have the PIT not very far away from the DVC building of Grand Floridian. I don't hear about people regularly walking the 100-200 yards to use the amenities of the other resort.

Disney's LL is supposed to be a deluxe resort. How deluxe would it be if they expect you to go over to the campgrounds for a meal? Or share the lazy river with the people from the campgrounds? I believe that the pools will be locked away from non-LL guests, just the way the pools at BCV are. Sure, there will be a path to get from the campgrounds to LL, but making LL part of the campgrounds? That's not going to happen.
I can see your point except for the fact that they took away the Trails End restaurant for the campgrounds and left it with only a quick service. From what I remember, Trails End was always full so why close it? The campgrounds should have access to a sit down restaurant so unless they add one back at the fort, the only one available will be at LL. I’m excited to see how they will position this whole area. It has the potential to be absolutely gorgeous. How lovely to have a glass lobby with the lake and cypress trees in the background. How nice to take a stroll or carriage ride through the decorated loops. They shouldn’t skimp on the lazy river and pools because I can see this being a place where people go for a relaxing resort stay because it’s more than just a hotel room.

LL guests would easily be able to walk to the 100, 200, and 400 loops, so I do think you could have LL guests trying to participate in the trick or treating. I would hope that there would be a way to figure out an equitable way to participate (maybe something like a trunk-or-treat?).

Point being, that LL is not just "close" to FW, it literally adjoins Pioneer Hall...

Yes, (and I've not read the last 2 pages of posts, @tidefan) I would think the guests at the R* replacement (all 900 rooms) would want to descend on Trick or Treating at the Fort (which the campers put on for campers). Campers are generous spirits and they are willing to take candy at ToT because they pass out candy at ToT. Are the guests in the 900 rooms (many of them) going to stay back to pass out candy to anyone coming down the hallway or outside walkway?

And yes, some of our trailer/truck combos along with Class A rv's are quite luxurious (and at least comfortable). Because no matter where we travel with them, we always stay/sleep AT HOME.

Which I hafta admit, is kinda cool.

They currently are, however, I do wonder if they have enough room if it gets more popular.

Well, proper phrasing is important here.

The FW Campfire/Singalong/Movie nightly is open to any WDW Resort guest (Fort, DVC, other on-property). But generally NOT open to the "general public" (people visiting WDW for the day who are staying off-site.

That being said, the number of true "off property" general public guests who venture over to the FW campfire singalong (which has diminished in value since Chip & Dale no longer circulate the crowd nightly for photos and autographs since the Covid recovery) is relatively few and Disney does not want to pay a CM to try to check/enforce that. They generally only do that around the main pool during summer holidays.

PS - and oh, the lazy river water feature was in the original plans for R* back in 2019. I assume that this new resort is the same design but with different wallpaper, throw pillows, and lobby theming (Tiana is the latest IP to get a push). Thus I expect a lazy river of some sort/size/simplicity to be at the new resort - I hope the name pays homage to River Country in some way.

PS - that having been said, I usually burn a cube of sugar on the end of a stick, let it catch on fire and blow it out, at least once a trip before I sit down to watch the cartoon and/or the start of the nightly movie.

Hello @bama_ed !

Having stayed at the Fort, both in an RV and in a cabin, it is hard to express what a special place it is. I hope that whatever Disney does with LL will complement the Fort rather than divide it…

P.S. - Chip and Dale were out last week :)

I’m thinking with as hard as it is to get a dvc reservation at times, they could totally justify making all 900 rooms dvc at this resort.

"at times" is the operative phrase here. DVC is designed so that 95% of the points are sold, with 5% held back by Disney. The goal is 100% occupancy, which is what would happen if every point was used each year. DVC doesn't guarantee that everyone will be able to book the reservation they want, and certainly not when they want ("I want an AKV value studio three days from now, why isn't it available?!").

I’m talking about booking home resort at 11 months out and all I see are 1 bedrooms.

Like for early December, when everyone and their brother are walking everything towards Christmas week? How does that availability look if you try to book January or early February? You'd probably have your pick of everything then. This is the crux of the argument I was making. You're not guaranteed to get the exact accommodations you want for the time period you want.

VLL cannot possibly utilize all 900 rooms for DVC. Let's call it 750+ as some hotel rooms would be turned into larger units, even though the hotel side has its own presidential suites in that mix.

1000+ units between VLL, the cabins and the residuals of PIT would essentially give DVD enough inventory to sell through 2040. I can't fathom this is our last DVC new build for a decade.

Plus the resort is designed with a separate DVC Tri-tower with its own mini-entry way and parking lot that doesn't appear to have changed. Or that MK is getting a fairly significant investment cycle and they've spent the better part of a 15 years removing cash rooms from the MK area. I really think there's an appetite for more MK cash rooms. Poly long houses, Bay Lake Tower, BVK, CCV and the Cabins are a pretty large reduction from their cash inventory since Magic Kingdom's last major expansion.

I thought they stated this was gonna be a mixed used property with a total of 900 rooms? I would say DVD would have 300 to 350 of those rooms to sell as DVC.
