I think it’s a good breakdown! Especially with fewer cabins compared to CCV/PVB. I’m confused with the large number of Deluxe cash rooms after they’ve been converting existing ones to DVC.

Where are you seeing the number of cabins breakdown?

Anyone have Riviera’s breakdown handy for comparison. Gut reaction is I wish there were 36 pod rooms. Probably we wish there were more dedicated 2 bedrooms.

But oh well, it’s certainly not bad.

Generally speaking, as someone with no empiric affinity for Fort Wilderness one way or the other (I’m sure there’s worries from that resorts fans)… I like almost everything I’m hearing. This looks like a really good resort.

No, not direct. But I would love cheap resale in a number of years.

Also the lazy river is officially in the plans and the pool complex looks potentially like the best on property still. I want to ensure there’s sufficient dining and really a walking path to Wilderness lodge would be divine.

Them building a lazy river and amazing pool makes me think even more that BCV will be 💀 after 2042. Especially with them probably wanting to get rid of lower points charts and usher in higher ones in the future perhaps. I am really, really curious to see the points chart for LL to see if my thinking may be correct.

I also really think CFW will be added as part of this, something has got to give with those slow sales and then top it off with people being so excited for this LL will further drive people away from buying CFW as a standalone and buy LL. This wasn't even on my radar and now after seeing this I'm excited 🤣

If the VLL points chart follows the 'normal' ratios* between room categories, then with full lock-off splitting approx. 27.5% of points will be for Studios, with another ~3% on Duos/Pods.

This is without any sort of impact from Cabins/A-Frames/Treehouses, which also appear in the designs and seem like possible candidates for DVC.

Comparison of the points share of Studios of other resorts, with full lock-off splitting:
  • OG Poly + Island Tower: 55.5% Studios, 3.6% Duos
  • VDH: 68.1% Studios, 6.5% Duos
  • VGF1 + VGF2: 49.3% Studios
  • Riviera: 20.8% Studios, 1.9% Duos (Tower Studios)
  • Copper Creek: 14.4% Studios
  • OG Poly: 73.4% Studios
  • VGF1: 14.7% Studios
  • Aulani: 18.7% Studios + Hotel Rooms
  • BLT: 17.7% Studios
So 27.5% for Studios would certainly be progress vs. DVC from a decade ago, but low compared to the last 3 full resorts (all 49% and above).

Duo: 0.8x points of a Studio
Studio: 1x points of a Studio
1 Bedroom: 2x points of a Studio
2 Bedroom: 2.7x points of a Studio
3 Bedroom: 6.5x points of a Studio
