ATOL updates

if anyones interested I'll keep a thread going with any further advice from ATOL re XL collapse.

currently we are all waiting for instruction from ATOL to send out claim forms. The process usually starts with originals (not copies ! so take photocopies yourself) of all documentation, receipts and confirmations.

If you are thinking about next years holiday then think ahead, airports will be taking half the capacity of this year. Prices will be more or less doubled. While there are still free child spaces and early booking discounts USE THEM! you will NOT get cheap last minute bookings.
Oil prices are coming down, Airline ticket prices will not be coming down any time soon, the airlines have been subsidising too long and need their profit margin to expand to keep going.

any questions please feel free to ask and I will update this thread when ATOL/ABTA/CAA give instructions

the really great holiday company (includes TCD)

forms for claims are no wready check out www.atol.org.uk

down load claim form for relevant company only
they are quite straight forward, you make a claim against either a holiday you have been unable to take OR expenses incurred as a result of failure - you make 1 claim ONLY!
you need to enclose original documents and/or bank statements where payments were made in cash

Libra/Argo have just announced a whole heap of cancellations (this is Allbury group) mainly Greece/Turkey/Cyprus, any passengers flying during the next week to contact airline/Tour operator urgently
