ATMs

I know there are plenty of ATM locations in the park but how easy are they to use?

My ATM card does not have a VISA or MasterCard symbol and when we were there 2 years ago I attempted to use my MAC card at the ATM in Downtown Disney and was not able to access my money.

Has anybody else had problems using an ATM?

How long have you had the ATM card? You might see if your bank now has a VISA debit card - which can be used as an ATM card or like a credit card.

I used an ATM/Check Card with a VISA logo at both ATMs and as a check card throughout WDW. I didn't have any problems accessing my money or paying for things at a checkout.

Sun Trust charges $2 (?) to use their machines, plus you'll need to add any fees your bank might charge for uses another banks ATM.

It should not matter to an ATM whther you have an ordinary MAC/Star/Plus/etc. card or a VISA/MasterCard debit card.

Is your card a member of the ATM networks or is it only good at your bank? That could be an issue. If it does not have any network indications (Cirrus for example) then you may still have a problem.

I does matter if the machine is a Pulse, Cirrus or MAC machine some are on all the systems others are not. Pulse and Cirrus networks seem to be at all or just about all machines MAC is hit or miss.

CORRECT.
Make sure your card has multiple logos on the back, and that one of the logos is on the Sun Trust machine. I'm sure there's a FAQ somewhere that can help you with which logos are accepted by them.

Is Suntrust still the bank? I thought I read they were switching to Bank One due to the relationship with them. Just wondering.
