What are the scariest water rides at Atlantis? For example, I love Crush and Jusher at Typhoon Lagoon, but I will never ride Summit Plummit at Blizzard Beach.:scared1: I lovvveee water slides, but don't like big vertical drops all at once.

We have been to Atlantis 3 times. My wife is the same with the constant drops and has done every slide but the Leap of Faith (The mayan temple replica right in the middle of the water park). All the slides on that temple are drops but the leap of faith is the largest. Other than that, you will be just fine. Enjoy! :)

Ya, Leap of Faith is a no go. I was wondering about the Abyss though. I don't think I would like that one.

I am a non-fan of all body slides...just stick to the tube slides & you'll be fine!!:goodvibes

I will be 11 weeks pregnant when we go to Atlantis and was wondering if there are restrictions on the slides. I know you all are not doctors and I should talk to my doctor but in all reality are there some that would be safe? Obviously I won't do the Leap of faith. I will probably be hanging out at the kiddie area since I will have my 4 y/o with me but I want to be able to ride something to justify the cost.

Thanks for the restrictions but has anyone actually been there to see the rides? You know some tube rides for families that do not have big dips...something slow? I have common sense about the fast twistie slides but I have never been and wanted to be prepared.

Yes, I have been. None of these tube slides are what I would call gentle. We even got dumped out of our rafts on their "lazy river" (The Current) which is not lazy at all!! It's your call but if it was ME and it said no pregnant women on a ride then I would probably not do it because I could never live with myself if something went wrong...

Thanks guys! Looks like this girl will stick with the pools!

Re: The Abyss

My Wife reminded me that she did not like that as well. Sorry for not adding that. I forgot about the power tower all together.

Re: Being pregnant

Atlantis is very difficult for pregnant women, both in the amount of walking and the slides. However, if you go behind the coral towers you will find an actual lazy river unlike the main one which includes rapids. That area is more for people with younger kids so everything is rather tame. Not to mention that it is almost always empty since it is off the beaten path.

When I was about 12 weeks pregnant with my son (14 years ago), I went on a trip with my DH plus some friends, one of whom is an OB/GYN. We all went to the pool, which had a rock jutting out into the water, similar to a diving board, but only about 6" from the water. I walked off of the rock into the water and horrified the doctor. She explained that even such a mild impact is too much, though the risk is small. Thankfully everything was fine.

I think that your idea to stick with the pools is the right one. Have fun!!!

The Abyss would be a no if you don't like vertical drops! Its the Leap of Faith times 2 and in the dark! However the pool/cave you drop into underground IS really cool, but you can walk into it and look.

RE: Tube rides

Lazy river would be ok for you. No go on The Current/rapids. They can be very dangerous, even if you weren't pregnant. We've riden them literally from the first day they opened (happened to be in the right place and the right time). Riders get flipped over from the waves, slammed into the walls and their rapid sections don't seem to have enough water going over them and I always end up hitting my bottom while going over them. There are some smaller body slides around the different pools if you really want to do a slide.
