Atlantic Canadians Rock!

Only an East-coaster by heart, but your right, Atlantic Canadians do rock. My Aunt lives in Minto, N.B., and I love the trips to the East. Just saw the 'Kitchen Party', and no one tops GBS live.

Ooo nice to see all of the Atlantic Canadians...I'm from Halifax, NS (although I grew up in Truro). My hubby is a teacher - hence our July dates. :cheer2:

No snow today, rain, :umbrella: taking the snow. :cool1: Got to love that. Two months form today we will be home again. Thats sad. :sad2: Just counting the days, but they can't come soone enough. :cool1: By the way, I'm from the way outer, outer skirts of Truro, by probably 25 minutes.

I am so jealous of those of you who get to go soon. Have a Dole Whip for me please! :teeth:

Prince Edward Island here but originally from New Glasgow, Nova Scotia.

I really miss canned pop and Sam's pizza.

What I miss... donairs from Domascus Donair in Bible Hill. It's one my first stops when I go home for a visit. Yummmmmmmmy!!!! They just can't make them like that anywhere in Ontario.

We just got home (we're just outside of New Glasgow) really late Wednesday night!

It was nice to see how much snow had melted away while we were gone. :sunny:

But, sorry folks, now that we're home, there's bound to be another blizzard! :p

I'm going to try to get a dining report (used the MYW dining) and a trip report started over the weekend.

One quick note: This was the first time we flew Delta. It was great! We left at 6:15am, changed planes in Boston and were in Orlando by 11:30am!! Coming home we left at 3:30pm, changed planes in Boston and were in Halifax by 10:30pm. MUCH better than flying through Toronto or Montreal (and the fares were cheaper for our dates!)

I work about a mile from Damascus. Have you been to the new restaurant? sure looks nicer than the one that burned down. They always had good food, but I never liked eating in. The new one looks larger and a lot nicer.

Mmmm.. Damascus.. stomach can only take it once in a while though.

Hi from a Truro DVC'er!.. Damascus goes FedEx Donairs anywhere ya know!.. never used it, but talked to people who have (Former Truro Edmontonians) and they got their Donair! Some assembly required though. ;)

:cold: Looks like Peter Coade is predicting some snow for us :cool1: ,around Tuesday or so,maybe it'll be storm day #8 here in the Annapolis Valley  Stay tuned! ;) :rolleyes1 :hourglass

Dennise: I was in the new restaurant last summer, YUM! I can remember being a teenager, sitting around in the old restaurant in the 80's every weekend. It's a good thing I moved away or I might have suffered some donair-related health problems by now!!!!

MickeyNS.... My DW looked at getting donair supplies sent up for my birthday, but it's pretty pricey.

For now it's a just a special treat for the trips home.

:cold:

Abba98--did you say another snow day!! :cool1: :cool1: Not that I don't love my job, but my dates are getting close and I would love to start sorting some items to pack! Only 3 weeks left for us! The Farmers Almanac says that Eastern Canada is supposed to have quite a large winter storm between Feb 21 and 23. Maybe it is right this time!! :flower:

This always happens. I always miss potential snow days from school. One happened on Monday when I don't have class. Another on Thursday after my only class. Now on Tuesday of my reading week. Sheesh! What does a girl have to do to get some time off school here?

Ali

:earsgirl: Gotta love those Farmer's Almanacs, especially when they're right.I'm really hoping that this Tuesday prediction will work out,I can use a good storm day every now and then, and our leftover snow is really starting to look quite dirty. :guilty: Some fresh white stuff would work for me.....
Keep yours fingers crossed! :teacher: :hourglass :worship: :dancer:

Oh Damascus. I was worried when it had burned down that they wouldn't replace it - I was very relieved indeed. No one in Halifax, even makes a donair as good.

No blizzards - I'm ignoring the weather.
I'm anxious to hear how you liked the MYW dining - we're using it too. AND I'm flying Delta - into Newark on the way there, and into Boston on the way back. How did you find customs? I'm debating getting my son a passport, but not one for each of us.

Aevelin,

At Christmas I flew thru Newark on Delta, and they were extremely sticky about not having passports for my kids....I had to get really upset, and even then, they reluctantly gave me boarding passes...they said they needed passport numbers to imput, and had to get a manager to overide this.

Not fun!

anyway, just a heads up!

BTW, in boston, they didn't care at all!

Go figure!
