Atlantic Canadians Rock!

:cool1: Well, here in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia,it was snow day #8,no school, due to some snow and freezing rain.Who else had a storm day today?I know lots in NS did,not sure about New Brunswick, let me know! :cold:
Stay warm,
Kirsten in the Valley! :rotfl2:

We had another snow day here in Cape Breton! It didn't start until mid-morning but it did come down quick for a while. Then it turned to freezing rain and finally rain. It was quite a mess! Good opportunity to start packing--only a week and a half to go!! :cool1: :cool1:

No storm day here in Halifax - only school buses not running. Snows pretty much gone replaced with wet wet roads - just hope the temperature doesn't drop to quickly.

 Wow,lucky you, sounds like you're going to FL on our March break, wish I was going that soon.Where will you stay?We like OKW,and will stay there for 2nd time when we go again in November....Have a magical time,
Kirsten in the Annapolis Valley ! :cold: :rolleyes1 :teacher: :mickeybar

Yes--we are taking an extended March break! We are staying at Pop Century for the first 12 nights and then going to the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal for 3 nights. We stayed at Pop last year and loved it! Haven't been to Universal yet so we are looking forward to Front of the Line passes--especially during Easter. We are now in single digits--9 days to go!

You will love Universal SlashMom..It and IOA make for a great couple of days. We liked it as much as Disney. Are you going to Sea World? It was my daughters favorite day...6 at the time. Any room in the suitcase??? :wave2:

:cool1: Hi again,Splashmom, can't imagine how excited I'd be if my next trip was in 9 days, but at least I'm not under 9 months!
We stayed at Pop last January, when it had only been open about a month. We were in the 70's building with a gorgeous view of Hourglass Lake, and loved the whole experience, including the tye dyed cheesecake, great food court, and loved the souvenir shop too! We spent 5 days there, then 5 at OKW.We'll be spending 12 days at OKW in November.
We went to Universal Studios for a day, hadn't been there since 1990,and had a great day,but we really love Sea World.Hope you can get there too,but looks like your trip is long enough so you will probably be going.
In November,we'll be visiting Busch Gardens in Tampa (taking the shuttle),and it's been a long time since we've been there,so we're looking forward to that!.
Have a fabulous trip, can't wait for the report when you get back! :hourglass
Kirsten in the Valley of snowflurries!

Yes--we are really excited now!!  Once the suitcases come out and the lists get going, it really seems like it will come soon. It seems that you are waiting forever and then suddenly, it's here! We do plan on Sea World for a day but my kids are older (DD15 and DS17) and they are really looking forward to Universal. Of course, the HRH is a major draw for them! I would love to visit Busch Gardens but I don't think we will make it this trip. I guess we will have to do it next time--good reason to start planning another trip!! We do plan on a day trip--maybe Daytona Beach or Kennedy Space Center. Any suggestions?

Hi all -- we just got back last night, well early this morning by the time we reached home. We are exhausted but we had a fabulous trip! It was a little over two weeks, long by our standards, but we survived in one room with two teenagers! I just got a chance to check the boards but I am too tired to post much. I promise I will be back tomorrow after work and let you know about the highlights. Now I just need to hit my own bed.... :wave2:

Rest a little, throw on a load of laundry, and get typing!!;) LOL!

:sunny:

:Pinkbounc Hey,glad you made it home safely, can't wait to hear all about your trip!
Kirsten in the Annapolis Valley! :wizard:

Well, I'm just digging out from the laundry and work but it was worth it! We were gone for 16 days--I was afraid it would be too long with two teenagers in one room but it was great! :flower:

We stayed at Pop for 12 nights and the Hard Rock Hotel for 3 nights. They were totally different but both excellent. We ate at CRT, Boma, Grand Floridian Cafe, Trail's End Buffet, Planet Hollywood, Earl of Sandwich, Pizza Planet, and Hollywood and Vine (and lots of counter service spots). While at Universal, we ate at Margueritaville, the Hard Rock Cafe, the Enchanted Oak Tavern and the Nascar Cafe. They were all fabulous in their own ways.

The weather wasn't great, although it was warm most days. We had two days that were cool (60s) but sunny and the rest of the time it was hot and humid (mid 80s) with risk of thundershowers every day. We did have frequent rainshowers although they didn't last too long.

We got to preview Lights Motor Action and Cinderellabration, rode the Crush'n Gusher in Typhoon Lagoon and we were among the first to see the refurbished Small World. Everything was fabulous! I don't think there was one thing we wanted to do that we didn't accomplish.

Of course, we also did lots of outlet shopping (had to buy additional suitcases :teeth: ) but what can you do? There were great deals!!

I'm not great at trip reports but if anyone has any questions, I will be more than happy to answer them! :flower:

:cheer2: Wow,that's a great report, sounds like you had a great time, and glad you got to eat at so many great restaurants.....We plan to eat at Boma at AKL for first time when we go in November, then we have our old faves, like Liberty Tree Tavern at MK,and Akershus Norwegian buffet in Epcot, and China pavillion's Lotus Blossom Cafe.......
It's a gloomy weekend here in the Valley,so think I'll have a look at my Birnbaum 2005 Travel Guide, and get some good ideas for our next Disney vacation........
Have a great weekend,
Kirsten :teacher: :earboy2: :hourglass

Wow sounds great, thanks for the info - 16 days sounds wonderful. Can't wait to get there myself - 2 more days. Then a few more weeks after we get back before we start camping again in Coldbrook - love the valley!

:flower: First off,Bluenoser,I hope you have a wonderful trip, and I can't wait to hear all about it when you get back.
And secondly, camping in Coldbrook you're almost in my back yard,as I live in New Minas..................I'm looking forward to summer too,as we head for the Bay of Fundy and our cottage!
Take care, have a great trip, and hope to hear more upon your return!
Kirsten :rotfl: :earsgirl: :hourglass
