For the air conditioning issue....do you think a plastic magnetic vent reflector might help? We will be staying there soon too and hate to freeze!!

The vent seems to be made of wood, so a magnet wouldn't stick. One night we laid a towel over about a third of the vents on the end. It helped the sleeper nearest the AC but the others in the room weren't comfortable because it got too warm.

How far is the parking lot from the buildings? I'll be at POR in Sept. My mother who has mobility issues will be traveling with us. We'll have our own car but I'm concerned about the distance she'll have to walk from our room to the parking lot.

We are very close to the parking lot. It appears that all the buildings are fairly close. Jut a piece of advice, when making reservations for the room ask for a standard room. They usually look out onto a parking lot. Not a great view but great for parking.

We are staying there on our next trip and were wondering if it is worth paying for a preferred room? Our last 2 stays at WDW were at FQ and loved it but I think my kids will like POR's pool a little more. Iwas thinking preferred room simply to be close to the first bus stop but is that even necessary? TIA

The buses go through all four stops all day. If you're at the main stop and you see a bus that's full and leaving, what you don't see is that another bus that's empty will go around to the other four stops. We did use it to get to park opening and had no problem. Not a lot of people from other stops... usually the bus that goes to the main depot will go on to the park and a different bus will catch the others. This was only for park openings. At other times of the day, the buses went through all four stops.

I am so sorry I get a bit thick over these things So you caught the bus at the main stop? And it was the last stop and full after loading? But it left straight for the park (at openining?)

What time did you catch the bus for a 9am opening? What time did you arrive at the park?

I obviously have too much time on my hands today so I decided to call to inquire about the lobby....a CM connected me to the front desk at POR at I was told the tentative date for completion is June 8th- for anyone who was wondering.

I visited the Acadian quiet pool a few days ago. I assume all the quiet pools are open with the possible exception of part of Alligator Bayou. One section is being refurbed so if there is a pool in that area I would assume its closed.

Sorry didn't use the bus system at all. We didn't attend the movie or check out the royal room section. Not sure about the food court but I don't think it's open 24 hours.

My next trip is booked at the Sports, but I sooo want to upgrade to POR! It was the first Disney resort I ever stayed at, so it holds a special place in my heart. I think it is so beautiful and peaceful.

But we have 2 rooms booked, and I'm trying to do this trip as cheaply as possible. But I'm so tempted!
