Dinner at Citricos is such a nice way to celebrate.... last time we ate there I had the braised short ribs...very delicious! And the tropical fruit creme brulee was delicious too! Enjoy!

Question: Was the pizza or the pasta better at VN? I was all set for pizza...but now I think I might need like 8 meals there so I can eat my way through every pizza and past selection.

I might have to have the "Sorry hunnie, I canceled all our ressies and we are eating at VN every day" convo after seeing all your pics.

I am thrilled to hear that you enjoyed Via Napoli. Someone who's Italian liked it! Yay! Now, I realize I've never met you, but I'm guessing that gives you enough credentials when it comes to Italian food.
Too bad that they were out of the arancini....I love them and had them at Citrico's last year and didn't think they were that great there. Oh well... And you ordered the zeppole for dessert tonight...that's what I want when we go.

Yes I am a true blue Italian that grew up on it and cooks it deliciously and I love Via Napoli! Actually prefer it to Tutto Italia. The zeppole was excellent, they did a great job with it

I can't believe how hard it is to keep up with your live report. Maybe I should just find someplace comfortable to go for the next few days, take off from school, so I can give your report the full attention it deserves. Just kidding.... kind of.

I am so surprised by your experience at La Hacienda (we have upcoming dinner ADRs there)! Most of the reviews I had read prior to yours raved about it (thinking of Allears reviews, in particular). On the other hand, the reviews about Via Napoli have been more mixed--so I switched out ADR's to lunch instead of dinner. After reading your two fantastic reviews--you have me second-guessing that change.

No one was more surprised than I was because every single report I have read the diners have loved it. I hope my dining reviews are not driving you crazy

I hope you have a FANTASTIC wedding anniversary at WDW! We celebrated our 25th (belated in May) and will celebrate our 26th on the actual date in February at the Cali Grill. I will be watching your review of that restaurant closely as our one other experience at that restaurant was not impressive.

As far as your cold, I hope you feel better! It's a drag to feel bad while on vacation. You might try Thera-flu daytime and some vitamin C and see if that helps. That's my treatment of choice!

I love CHH! I've been wanting to try the fried shrimp, good to know it got the Nicki the DRE seal of approval. Now I know what I'm eating on Dec 14 for lunch.

Nicki, are you really surprised about Todd getting in to eat where he wants with no ADR? This always happens!!! You should test it one day and walk up at Le Cellier just to see if they give him a table. If they do, I want to borrow him for my trips so I can not make any ADR's and wing my dining choices based on what I feel like! You could pimp him out - Todd the ADR Charmer!

We loved VN in Sept especially the little "donuts" for dessert with the chocolate and whipped cream. It was my birthday and all of the cute waiters came over to sign "Happy birthday" in Italian.

Didnt you just want to take the boys home with you ...they are soooo adorable and the accent makes them just irresistable. I found myself saying "pardon me?" just to hear them repeat themselves

Hey Ya'll! Hope I didnt worry you by not getting on the Dis today but I slept in late, 9:30 and that is really late for me but I think my body needed it.

We went to the CBR food court for coffee and hot tea and DH had the Bounty Platter that he had the other day and said it was better I nibbled on a croissant that was very good. I didnt bring the camera with me but the pictures are the same as before.

I was feeling much better so we decided to use the pool for a little bit while I threw a load of laundry in. After and hour or so we came back to the room and showered and had no clue what to do. It was flip a coin time. Heads we go to DTD and tails we go to Epcot. Todd flipped, heads won and I think he rigged the game.

We jumped on the bus and away we went. On the way we played another game (we sure do play alot of these dont we? ) This one was the "What the heck are we going to eat?" Todd calls me DD as in Disney Dictionary and I am supposed to name the places for him.

We went through the list that I always have in my head and he said "lets check out the menus"

We are going to walk into DTD and just look at menus? Are you nuts?

First up was Paradiso 37, at 1pm it was empty and he didnt like the menu. Then Raglan Road, very empty, nothing doing it for him. The new chicken place? Nope, it didnt look very appealing at all and was deader than a doornail. How about T-Rex? Nope that is just bar food (say what???) How about WPE or EoS, nah not in the mood for that.

Did you guys watch Seinfeld? We are die hard Seinfeld fans...do you remember the episode where Kramer is the movie fone service and he tries to play it off by being the movie time computer? George calls to see what is playing and Kramer gets so frustrated he says "Why dont you just tell me what movie you want to see?"

Well that was me..."Why dont you just tell me where you want to eat??"

DH: I want fried shrimp

ME: Dude, there is no way I am going back to MK

DH: Lets go to that fried place

ME: Huh?

When we were passing by RR he saw Cookes of Dublin and spied the fried shrimp...back over that way we go.

DH had the shrimp and chips (fries) and I had the scallops and chips. We shared an order of cole slaw. They have this awesome Dalkey Mustard that goes great with everything

The fried shrimp was excellent, the batter is very light, the shrimp very tender. The fries were amazing! Nothing was greasy and everything was made to order.

The scallops were huge, tender, sweet and just excellent.

The cole slaw was gross. Huge pieces of carrots and cabbage just tossed in mayo, no flavor whatsoever

We would def eat here again but not get the cole slaw or the Doh Bar (had that a few years ago and it was blech)

I am late to this and haven't read all of the thread yet but..YEA! How said am I? I wrote on my desk calendar at work that you were going to start your live report last Friday but I've been out of work with pink eye for 2 weeks and just got to it now. I LOVE your live reports! Happy Anniversary! We spent our 5th anniversary in Disney 2 years ago and nothing beats it. Have a great time!

After our lunch we decided to shop all of DTD today since it was gorgeous outside and the crowds were very low. On Sat night we are going to dinner at Fultons but the crowds might be too packed to shop.

We wandered into Ghiradelli's and looked around, bought something for my grandmother (the original candy fiend LOL) and the CM asked if we would like coffee etc and Todd said:

DH: Nope, we are going to the other side

The girls behind the counter laughed and said that is the better side and told us to get the biggest sundaes we could get

Neither of us could decided on one to share so the logical thing to do was get two!

My choice was vanilla ice cream with peanut butter sauce. This is the best! No pesky chocolate to get in the way. Todd went for the chocolate ice cream with milk chocolate sauce...he loved it and ate it all, but then again, I polished off mine!

The weather was amazing, we sat and relaxed and tried to plan the rest of our trip. He mentioned that he was watching a Sea World commercial on tv and would like to go back (have not been since 94 for our engagement). Well, ok, that can be your anniversary present and we can go on Friday. They are open 9-6 so the plan is to be there early, leave around 5 and go to Cape May Clambake.

First we look at the fishies and then we eat the fishies! Oh that was just bad bad bad

We shopped and shopped and shopped. Picked up stuff for the middle and little niece (the older one is "over" Disney...can you believe we are related??" and went into the new Spice Store by EoS. This store is awesome but expensive. THey have all different types of teas, sugars, spices, rubs. We bought some loose leaf tea and blueberry and coconut sugars.

I had to go to Basin, I love that store. I like to try the body butters and the scrubs. Fell in love with the new shea butter salt scubs and the butters that go with it but I didnt want to spend the $$ on it. While I was wandering the store Todd drifted away, said the smell was getting to him and would wait outside. He knows me too well because I could stay in that place forever. When I met up with him he had a Basin bag at his feet. What is up with that?

DH: Happy Anniversary, if I didnt get the right smell go back in and return it...you tried on so much I couldnt remember what you liked. In the bag was a jar of the Sunshine (orange-lemon scented) shea butter salt scrub and the matching body butter...yes he got it right

ME: Ok, I love you and I will not paint you as a bad guy on the DIS

DH: Huh? You do that to me?

ME: What, huh? Did you want to go to Goofy's? (Trying to change the subject)

DH: Ok (worked like a charm)

Nothing to report at Goofys, we didnt get anything and it looks exactly the same as Main Street Candy Shop. I did sample the pumpkin fudge and it was too sweet for me.

Now we are back at the room and relaxing until dinner time...my wonderful love muffin is sleeping and has already grumbled that he is "starving"

Yes ladies and gentlemen, I have married....the bottomless pit.

C-ya tonight..or tomorrow....depends on how much we celebrate!

Loving your reviews!!! Looks like Via Napoli is a real hit at WDW! I'm always nervous about trying Italian food outside NY (except if it is recommended by someone I know...like Mario the Baker in Miami...so good, but the owner is from NYC! ). But, we just may have to give Via Napoli a try on our 2012 trip. They may just have the very first theme park pizza I can tolerate! What can I say...I'm a Brooklyn girl!

Sorry about the cinnamon roll from MSB. DH and I LOVE those...we first had one on our 2008 trip, and we knew this past July we had to get one again. We loved it once again. I hope they are still good and it was just an off day or something.

Boma breakfast also looks good, and is something I have always wanted to try. But, we tend to eat breakfast in our DVC villa most mornings, and go to a couple of character breakfasts for the kids. We'll see...maybe on the next trip we will go to Boma one morning.

just home from work, in the dark, damp city of montreal, was feeling quite dreary and unsatisfied until i logged on to this thread and saw so much happiness ........
cooks of dublin looks amazing, I always wondered what it was like, I haven't seen too much porn from this place, I am not a big fry eater, but those look like the kind that i can't stop eating, big and crunchy, soft on the inside,yumm!
then, I would mix both your sunday's together, love the chocolate fudge there, and peanut butter sauce, way too much goodness
and then to top it all off, my favorite place of all..... the basin, I also can spend hours in there, i love it! what a nice surprise from your hubby!
