Happy anniversary to you! My 9th anniversary is tomorrow!!

Since our 10th is next year, but we only have time to go away for the weekend (first time without the kids since before we had them!), DH and I will be going out to dinner at one of the nicer restaurants at WDW on our July 2012 trip, as a late anniversary celebration! We can't go away for more than a weekend in November because we are both teachers, plus we wouldn't leave the kids for longer than a weekend (my sister will watch them). And...I just couldn't imagine WDW without my kids at this point! They're only 3 and 5. Perhaps when we hit our 40th, we can make it a Disney trip! Probably before then actually, since DH and I will be retiring in the year 2032, when we will be married 31 years. Yes, I'm a planner! ;)

Ah, Happy Anniversary! ou guys are so cute. I think Todd and i have similar tastes in fried food and desserts! Hoe sweet of him to get the bath stuff-think that scent would be my favorite
I love carmel apples and will have to get me one or 2. Guess where we are having Christmas Dinner-Via Napoli. I will consider the eye candy my own little gift :)
Hope you had a wonderful night

You know, all of these pictures of food are absolutely great. But it would be REALLY NICE if you posted a picture of the two of you!!! I've not seen you in 7 weeks and I forgot what you looked like. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I hope your anniversary dinner was a special as you two are.

AMAZING reviews Nicki!!! You rock!! I don't know where to start, Via Napoli looks sooo yummy omg! And that fried fish WOW! Can't wait to get down there! We take off at 7 am tomorrow !! :yay::cool1::thumbsup2

Sorry, I wasn't able to post any earlier - my kiddos wear me out! :scared1:

I am glad to hear that you are feeling better - I hope you are having a nice and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

micky5.gif

Thanks Karin! Hope you got some rest after your kiddos tuckered you out! Say hi to Tom for us!

I am late to this and haven't read all of the thread yet but..YEA! How said am I? I wrote on my desk calendar at work that you were going to start your live report last Friday but I've been out of work with pink eye for 2 weeks and just got to it now. I LOVE your live reports! Happy Anniversary! :lovestruc We spent our 5th anniversary in Disney 2 years ago and nothing beats it. Have a great time! :cool1:

Better late than never right? I was on your calendar? I feel so important :rotfl: Hope your pink eye is over with...my mom gets that alot and it makes her miserable.

Loving your reviews!!! Looks like Via Napoli is a real hit at WDW! I'm always nervous about trying Italian food outside NY (except if it is recommended by someone I know...like Mario the Baker in Miami...so good, but the owner is from NYC! ;)). But, we just may have to give Via Napoli a try on our 2012 trip. They may just have the very first theme park pizza I can tolerate! What can I say...I'm a Brooklyn girl! :rotfl2:

The pizza is excellent, it is about time tasty pizza hit the parks

Sorry about the cinnamon roll from MSB. DH and I LOVE those...we first had one on our 2008 trip, and we knew this past July we had to get one again. We loved it once again. I hope they are still good and it was just an off day or something.

I think they are changing how they do them now, not as good as they once were.

Boma breakfast also looks good, and is something I have always wanted to try. But, we tend to eat breakfast in our DVC villa most mornings, and go to a couple of character breakfasts for the kids. We'll see...maybe on the next trip we will go to Boma one morning.

It is a great breakfast, we have been a few times and always enjoyed it but I know that with kids it is all about the characters

And last, but definitely not least....HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to you and Todd!! party:

Thank you so much!

You are my hero! Able to eat what you want, when you want, and how much you want ... and apparently not gain weight, because you look great!
Seriously, your descriptions and pictures are amazing, and it's also a bonus when you show the menus. Enjoy your anniversary; best wishes for many more of them (and food reports) to come!

Whoa, who said anything about not gaining weight :lmao: I may have added a pound from the caramel shop :rotfl2: I am so glad that you are enjoying the reviews and pictures!

Happy anniversary! Your and Todd's conversations always crack me up.

Thank you Caroline! We are a trip thats for sure

just home from work, in the dark, damp city of montreal, was feeling quite dreary and unsatisfied until i logged on to this thread and saw so much happiness ........
cooks of dublin looks amazing, I always wondered what it was like, I haven't seen too much porn from this place, I am not a big fry eater, but those look like the kind that i can't stop eating, big and crunchy, soft on the inside, yumm!
then, I would mix both your sunday's together, love the chocolate fudge there, and peanut butter sauce, way too much goodness
and then to top it all off, my favorite place of all..... the basin, I also can spend hours in there, i love it! what a nice surprise from your hubby!

I am glad that my thread is making your day better  Yummy, the sundaes together sounds tasty! He sure is a sweetie pie isnt he?

"Happy Anniversary!"

:rockband:party:party::rockband:

Thanks!

I just love him sometimes and want to knock him out other times, like when he scores the impossible ressie :lmao:

I really thought he was going to go for Fultons too but you never know what the heck he is thinking :confused3

I am gonna get you woman and you know why! Todd is not a picture taker, you know that. He gives me grief when I want to take pics of him or of us but I made him a promise the other night when we left the GF after Narcoossee's dinner....no pictures all night IF he lets me go crazy with pics on our MVMCP night. He agreed so guess what he doesnt know...I want character pics and he has to do it! HA HA HA

Have a safe trip!

Hi, Nicki...glad you got the restful, relaxing day you wanted. Your lunch look at Cooke's looked great. I really loved Basin, too, but I also have a tough time parting with my money for things like that. Lucky for you, Todd felt differently! Seems like a spice shop would be a great idea; I'd be likely to think I'd go home and do all sorts of cooking and buy a bunch of stuff I'll hardly use. :rotfl: Hope you had a great night tonight. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Tell Todd that if I don't see a picture of the two of you before this trip is over that I will NOT spend any time with him at Disney or in Naples next April or October!!!!

Where did I leave off? Oh yeah, getting ready for dinner. There was a knock on the door and I had deliveries....

I want to thank KatMark (my BFF's Kathy and Mark aka Romeo) for their amazing gift of Mickey wine glasses, our favorite Rosa Regale, cheese and crackers, chocolates and a gold charger plate. You guys are amazing, we love and miss you more than you know and Kathy..I am gonna get you!!!

Thank you again so much!

The Dis is an amazing place, I have met the most wonderful people on this thread, all of you are just the best!

At Epcot last night we were walking up the slight hill by Spaceship Earth and we witnessed and older man in a wheelchair trying to wheel himself up the hill. THere wasnt anyone with him and we approached him to see if we could help, he seemed to be slipping back down the hill. Todd pushed him up the hill and he thanked us over and over again. Just as we were saying goodbye to him his wife came up to us (she was in the ladies room) and was tearing up, she watched us help her husband, hugged us both and said "You have proved there are good people in the world"

We didnt think we were doing anything special, just paying it forward...but she was right, there are good people in the world and you Diser's are those people!

NOT FAIR, Nicki! You just made my cry on a FOOD thread!

:lmao:

Sorry, I've been trying to play catch up.

First off, hope you are having a great anniversary!

Sorry you had a bad experience at Narcoossee's, unfortunately I've been hearing a lot of reviews like that lately, kind of has me nervous now!:guilty:

That caramel cupcake from Germany looks amazing!:love: I will be adding that to my journey of "Cupcakes Around The World".

I might have to talk DH into trying Cookes of Dublin again, your shrimp looked a heck of a lot better than the stuff we had there a couple of years ago.

Also had a question about Main Street Confectionary, do they still sell the Mickey fudge tins? DH decided all of a sudden he would like to buy fudge and wants one of the tins to hold it all in.

Can't wait to hear about Citricos or TBD depending on what your DH decides.:lmao:

That was a very touching story. Just imagine how much you actually touched their vacation! Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy!

I'm so glad it is as nice as I saw on the website. And you are welcome...just our way of saying that we are so happy that you are part of our lives...and very important part.

Your story at Epcot last night brought tears to my eyes. I agree with you. The DIS is a wonderful place and has brought us many, many friends and very caring and warm and loving friends.

The GF has the tree up and all the decorations!!! It was so exciting to see it all decked out and they are going to have a PhotoPass person out from 9a-9p every day so we are going to stop by tomorrow and have our pic taken in front of the big tree...last time we did that was Dec 05!

The Gingerbread House is up as well...same offerings and prices as last year.

Happy Anniversary to us!! Dinner at Citrico's and we were so excited! We were seated immediatey to a nice window seat in the far rear of the restaurant. Our waitress was Stephanie and she was very attentive to us, the first thing she did was remove the white napkin and give me a black one, my pants are black and she didnt want white lint all over them (this is a huge deal to me and I wish more places did this)

Nov17night030.jpg

I had a Passionfruit Mojito, it was wonderful, not too sweet, had a nice kick..very good! Todd had the Iron Horse and liked it alot, he said it was like the Prosecco from VN

Nov17night031.jpg

The bread was a kalamata olive bread, very earthy and musky flavor and a grain bread that was soft in the middle with a crispy crust. We preferred the grain bread which suprises me because Todd loves kalamata olives.

Nov17night026.jpg

Nov17night027.jpg

I told Todd to order for me, I dont care what you order....pick the 4 things that you like the most. He chose:

Aranacini, risotto balls. Now we know what we were missing at VN! They were light and crispy, a bit chewy and not greasy at all. The sauce that was with them was excellent.

Nov17night032.jpg

Romaine Salad, sorta like a caesar but not. The garlic dressing was like sweet and sour and I didnt care for it so he ate the entire thing. The hearts of palm and the cheese crisp were his favorite.

Nov17night033.jpg

For himself he picked the short ribs with a potato and sweet potato gratin. This was to die for! So tender it fell apart, the potatoes were a bit firm but in a good way, the blood orange demi glace was the icing on the cake...the flavor blew away our taste buds.

Nov17night034.jpg

The Filet with an Italian twist, this was his choice for me and had it prepared medium rare and it was cooked perfectly, so tender I didnt need the knife, yummy mashed potatoes but the kicker was the veal wine sauce...OMG we licked the plate clean. Between the two of us we could not get enough of this filet.

Nov17night036.jpg

We shared a pot of pressed pot coffee and the desserts didnt wow us at all. I was so sad that they didnt have any Fall type desserts....I had the best spice cake last year here but they didnt repeat it.

Nov17night037.jpg

We shared the chocolate banana torte with vanilla ice cream. This didnt do it for me but I dont like that much chocolate. The ice cream was wonderful and the chocolate sauce was great but the cake was hard and dry. My other half thought I was crazy and ate the entire thing and proclaimed it Chocolate Love

Nov17night038.jpg

DH had a Magicale to go with his dessert.

Nov17night039.jpg

Citrico's is a huge keeper for us, a must do on every single trip. As Todd said, this is what Narcoossee's should strive for.

Just as we were finishing up with coffee the fireworks from MK started and we had the best view! Could this night get any better?

Oh yes it does, because Todd pulls a Todd....stay tuned

I forgot to tell you the funny part...oh man how could I forget

As we are enjoying our meal a CM walks our way with a dozen roses.

My face lights up and then gets mad because he knows I am not a flower girl. I just think they are such a waste on me because I do not appreciate them

DH: Calm down nut case, they are not for you. You got bath stuff remember?

They were for the table across from us, another couple celebrating their anniversary

ME: Ok, just checking...good thing you listen to me. Obey was part of the vows remember

DH: Oh I remember but you seem to forget all the time

Ah, 14 years of wedded bliss coming at ya

This is too funny. As I started reading, I thought to myself...why would Todd get Nic flowers--she's not a flower/jewelry type gal. And then you comne up with the "obey" being part of the vows and he has a come back for you! God, I love that man. :lmao::lmao:

Your dinner sounds heavenly. You might finally be able to talk Romeo into a Signature restaurant after he sees this review. And Todd's dessert has me drooling all over the keyboard.

Now, let's see if I can stay up another 15 minutes (been sick all week and my back is still killing me and really need to go to sleep) to see what "Todd thing" Todd pulled this time. :rotfl2::rotfl2:
