At last free Wifi inroom from today :)

from this company:

Website: http://www.rentcell.com

we had unlimited data - so we could use the iphones for email and also for skype

and the phones also had unlimited calls within the US

Now that is something I will look into next time. I really only needed data to keep in touch and calls within the US - so effectively my own Blackberry was useless to me! It wasn't worth the cost of either. It was more affordable to just get occasional in room internet access and send emails/use messaging

Thank you for that :flower3:

DH needs to be connected to his email 24/7/365...and to skype as well (he's on calls day and night to europe and the far east)...
so just being able to connect when in the room wouldn't be enough for him anyway...he needs to have access to his email every minute of the day...

to use his own iphone in the states would cost a massive fortune (data roaming)..

he was so thrilled when he found this company....and they delivered exactly what they said they would....apparently, they ship to disney resorts quite a bit (to international guests).....they had just shipped 30 phones to a group at a conference a few weeks before we were there...

the phones were waiting for us when we checked in...

DH was very pleased with the service..

I saw this today, seems a good deal for no contract, going to be stocked in all Walmarts from tomorrow (16th Oct), unlimited data $30 for a month. Stuff like this is totally beyond me so but if you already have a suitable phone looks a good deal to me.

Any rival is going to be hard pressed to beat that. I am trying to see where it says how long the contract is, or is it a rolling month to month one?

We did almost exactly that at Mousemeets in April this year. There was a live video link up with a guy at Magic Kingdom and we got to tell him where we wanted him to go. I know he went on PeopleMover and into Fantasyland but I forget where else he went. We were going to go and meet Mickey but we lost the signal when he went inside so he had to come back out again.

What a shame. That would have been such fun. In fact, on that topic, a guy is streaming live from Illuminations tonight (2 am GMT). I see you are not online now but if you see this before then just drop me a PM or post on here and I will get you the link and the password.

i assume it means buying a prepaid 4G phone..

possibly a good option - that's what i used to always use - a prepaid phone plan with a phone i bought in the US (at walmart)...

but it doesn't solve the problem for DH - the type of phone he would need, would still cost a fortune - prepaid or not..

the rental worked really well...
and it included unlimited calls in the US - which the Tmobile plan doesn't - phone calls are charged by the minute in the tmobile/walmart plan...

Great news Wayne, thanks for posting.

I'm staying on site next month for the first time in eons and was wondering
Usually staying in a villa means I've been spoilt with wifi. Luckily, I'm staying at two of the resorts listed. This will make it easier to keep in touch with my family back home :hyper:

Thanks so much for posting this exciting information,Wayne

I was so happy about free wifi at OKW next year I called my hubbie who is driving home tonight in the rain he had to work 2 and a half hours away today,so you have brightened up his day.

Now going to tell my 12 year old son as he got a laptop recently:)

Here now and it works fine! There is still a sign in the room about the paid access but when you search for a network it comes up with free guest wireless
