Hi,
We just checked in to BLT, LV One Bedroom. Groceries were just delivered by Wegoshop, and all is well. We have a view of the Contemporary Pool, the Lake, and the Contemporary Hotel. It's great! Online check in was smooth and the tips I had read about getting off the Magical Express at the Poly was right on. We had lunch there, and by the time we took the Monorail to CH our room was ready.
No luggage yet though...
More later!

PS: My daughter is also doing a trip report from her blog, the Holiday Blog, with some pictures included!

I've been reading that the furniture is worn already. :confused3 How's the condition of your room?

What is there in the way of baking pans? If I had cornbread mix, could I make cornbread?

Do you find the people taking the tours as you go down the hallway/get on the elevator to be sort of creepy?

My son and new Daughter-in-Law are there on their honeymoon. Say hi if you see them. She's the one with the "Bride Ears".

Have a great trip.

What's the tip on getting off Magical Express at the Poly?

Is it because you got there before check-in time or is it faster to do that and take the monorail over?

For cornbread there is a glass pyrex rectangle pan, smaller than a 9 by 11. On the Magical Express, the Contemporary is the last stop after the Polynesian and the Grand Floridian and maybe the Wilderness Lodge. We just wanted to enjoy the resorts quicker, eat lunch before checking in etc.
Tonight we are going to the Top of the World Lounge for fireworks!
Yesterday we watched Illuminations from the little seating area outside of the Rose and Crown, and then took in some of MGM, but it was crazy crowded due the the MK closing a 5:00
Today we swan in the morning and went to MK for the afternoon. Space Mountain had 2 shutdowns but we finally were able to ride early this evening.

I know I am being cheeky but could I ask a favor?
When you go to the TOTW lounge could you ask them a question for me please?
I am having a vow renewal at the Swan hotel in May 2011, and we will all be staying at BLT (me, DH and between 9 and 13 guests). We will all be staying at BLT on points (due to me frantically banking and borrowing!!) and thus will all be eligable to use the TOTW lounge. I thought a nice way to end the day would be for us all to have a few drinks at the lounge and watch the MK fireworks (Wishes or whatever has replaced it by then!!). I then wondered whether I would be allowed to have private dining deliver some mini desserts and pastries up to the lounge for my guests to enjoy with their drinks and fireworks. We will be eating at Citricos before this so would only require dessert. Would you be able to put this scenario to them and ask whether this would be possible? I understand if you would rather not but would be extremely grateful if you would!!
Have a great vacation

what?

the guest taken the tours have always been very nice.

now since their guides can't get in the hotel and they have to wait for someone to open the main door - they can get upset.

Did you put in a room request? If so, did you get what you requested? Also, I am interested in how busy the Top of the World is for the fireworks. I have heard it is not too hard to get a seat even going up 15 minutes before the start of the show. Thanks for any info!

No, not that people aren't nice, it is just sort of "creepy" to me....it feels kind of awkward taking a elevator while people are talking to a guide about points and payments and whatever. Like, let me just take my vacation on out of here and let you all finish up your business.

We watched the Princess and the Frog outside last night on a big inflatable screen between BLT and the Contemporary. Today I took the Alamo shuttle to pick up a rental car for a side trip to Universal, got a pontiac at the car care center and was on my way in about 20 minutes. Very convenient. The only trouble I had was finding the parking lot at BLT! Even though I had walked through it all week, I missed the turn, thinking there would be a sign.
All signs just say Contemporary, no BAY Lake, so a bit confusing.
Crowds were light this morning at MK, then Animal Kingdom was OK too.
All machines everywhere were out of feminine products, by the way, or out of order!
I've been using the 20% premium annual pass discount at the stores. I got the DVC 2010 pins (4) for $19.00 total!

I did request an even numbered room, that's all. I am happy with the room, it is not too far from the elevators, good view of the Electric Light Water Pageant. My husband met some newlyweds from Indiana Monday night!
As to the can you order desserts to be delivered to the ToWl, no one really answered that question. You can take guests though, plenty of room for getting a table 20 minutes before fireworks, then you can take your drink out to watch the show. It was fun, you could see lots of people watching from the California Grill.
