Ok, I know that they are two different places. It is NOT about money.

I booked our vacation for the Poly Dec 16-23. BUT... am wondering if the kids would enjoy the value resorts more.

The BIGGEST reason I hesitate changing is because I would hate to get stuck with long transportation waits.

I also want my oldest daughters to go off to the parks alone sometimes.

I have 5 people, so I cannot stay at the WL with my discount PIN and only 1 room. THAT would be a little.. too much.

What are your thoughts?

I would go with the Polynesian because in my opinion they have a better theme, bigger rooms, more transportation options and more restaurant options.

Do you think that the Contemporary is going to have more of the feel that the "movies" do, I mean .. with the theme and such?

ALSO, my DH got his PhD from UofT!

You have hit the real key that time of year transportation issues.

There are no longer waits anywhere in the resort area than the waits for the busses for value resorts either. You could gain about 25% additional park time stay at the Poly verses a value resort. Having spent the last 10 years at WDW during this time, the 25% number is unfortunately very accurate.

So this Disney Junkie say keep the Poly!

Thanks Mouseman. I am trying to gear the trip to the teens and the toddler... GRRRR... and the reluctant DH. I think, transportation wise, it is going to be my best bet, I am wondering now tho, what about the Contemporary...

GOODNESS>.. this is what I get for booking so many months in advance! I am going to go insane and drive everyone on these boards insane along with me!!

I've done both the All Star Movies and the Poly. We did ASM first and I will never go back now that we've been to the Poly. The kids will have fun no matter where they are but dh and I enjoyed the Poly sooooo much more.

Honestly yes I think it does because you have the atmosphere of all their stores/restaurants on the 4th floor and the Monorail going right through. Plus you will also have the walkway to and from the Magic Kingdom.

I would def go Poly over a value. The monorail access and quick walk to the TTC is huge, particulary at a busy time of year around the holidays. The busses at the All Stars make multiple stops and are far away from nearly everything. I would also feel safer having my dd walk from the room to the GCH and taking the monorail rather than waiting at a bus stop at the values. At least the monorail stop would be inside the GCH with transportation CM's around rather than the bus stops at the values which are on a sidewalk facing the parking lot.

We do not enjoy the theming of the CR, the monorail passes by/through the Poly and GF grounds, and if you are in a garden wing room the idea of the monorail going through your resort is a moot point.

CR~ Would it matter if we stayed in the Wind as opposed to the Tower though?
No it wouldn't because their Garden Wing rooms look exactly like the Tower rooms and have the same design. The difference is that it's a 5 minute walk or less to the Tower depending on where your room would be located in the Garden Wing building.

Either Poly or CR should do the trick. For that time period transportation is key - so I would shoot for either one of those resorts. :goodvibes
