Just wondering if any of you have seen the movie trailer for Adam? We found it the other day and cannot wait for it to come out. It is odd seeing our world from an outsiders point of view.

Saw you post and just found the trailer...looks good...but does he get the girl? If it's sad, I can't see it. I'm the mom of a smart, handsome aspie and it would break my heart if the movie had a sad ending.

I have no idea. It isn't out yet. But I can't wait. There are days that I wonder if my Aspie will ever be able to move out of the house and then there are days that we forget he even has Asperger's.

Thanks for the information. I had not heard of this.

I am the mom of a 6 yr old Aspie and we are just passing our 1 yr. since diagnosis. Though we always knew something was "wrong" no one could put a finger on it.

I have my days worrying he will be sitting in a back room somewhere when he gets older memorizing patent law books and not having any friends to thinking it will all work out just fine. So I completely understand the feeling of will they be okay in the future?

:)

Here's a link in case anyone else wants to see it:

Do you guys watch Big Bang Theory? One of the characters is an Aspie. The man that plays Sheldon does a very good job of portraying an Aspie.

Love it! I actually went out and bought the first season because I had never seen it before and caught one episode and wanted to see them all. Now I have to wait until season 2 comes out so I can see this years episodes. It is was on at 8 pm (now moving to 9:30 pm) which was right in the middle of bedtime. Not at all convenient! :)

Mine is 18 and is going away to college in about 6 weeks. I cannot imagine him either having or being a roommate, but he didn't want a single because he thought it would be too isolating. He is going to a small liberal arts college. There was one very good school that he ruled out solely because all of the freshman dorms only have community bathrooms. (At the school he's attending, 4 guys share a rest room.) Leave it to an Aspie to choose a school based on the bathroom situation....but I'm glad he thought about it in advance.

As the DBF of worm761, I showed her the trailer. I actually don't notice the things that we go through on a normal day with DS until someone points them out. I can actually say that what I saw in the trailer was pretty accurate, especially the conversation on the bench in the first part.

My nephew is an aspie, he's 15 and having crushes but being really inappropriate, lol, nothing horrible just has no idea about boundaries and taking it easy at first. It's not going well but I keep telling him that practice makes perfect. The film looks so sweet, I hope it has more than a limited release.
